I'm currently at UofR and wouldn't mind meeting some wrestling fans if any of you guys are here too...

I guess that makes two then... seriosuly why is there no wrestling scene here? Remember how cool it was that WWE was going to run a house show here but then the Benoit thing happened and the shows were cancelled... I mean it isn't like the Brandt center even sells out so I don't blame the WWE. I just happened to read one of JR's blogs at his web site and he mentioned Regina in a really negative light. I said somethign like the days of Bret Hart driving to Regina are long gone.

Are there even indy events in Regina? I've only heard of one happening since August, but I missed it

Ya every once in a while Stampede or some other fed has a show that usually involves the Principle Richard Pound or some crap like that but I've never gone. Maybe I will try some day but they promote it terribly. I think I'll try to make it to the next one (if I ever hear about it) and I might try and create a web site that actually promotes indy wrestling and dates for western Canada.

I believe you are speaking on HIW (High Impact Wrestling) The shows aren't stellar but they are fun to watch (sometimes). They just had a show this past friday. They are teaming up with Monster Pro from Edmonton I could be wrong on the name but there is a show every month in Regina for HIW

What can we do to advocate more wrestling in the province. I'm seriously looking into promoting... I am a proffessional Marketer after all.

Well, if You get anything going I'll wrestle for you a couple of years. I'll be training with Lance Storm after I graduate, and would like to stay in the Regina area as I really like it here. I think it's just about advertising more. I mean I never see any posters or hear any radio adds or anything. I mean at the university I've met a bunch of people who watch wrestling, maybe not religously like me and my one friend, but they join us in the tv room and watch if they aren't doing anything else. And I'm sure those guys would go a to show if nothing else is happening. It's just nobody know about anything. And only having a show or two a month isn't cutting iteither. Weekly events. Have a Friday show in Regina and a Saturday show in Saskatoon and eventually it will grow from there

I'm lokking into a western canada web site that can promote other companies as a free awareness type of thing and I'll hope to grow interest to the point where a promotion with some balls opens up in Sask... we love our football so why not our wrestling right?

People don't have that much money and even if the tix are only $10 a show that's 40 to go the whole month. Wrestling isn't as cheap as many people think it is. Also the performers would have to pretty much work for free. I just don't think that is a commitment most would go for. Now the only other way is to get a group of die hards (Such as myself) and train or learn as you go from there I think there would be a chance that something would get going but really that's the only way to have people that aren't working for another organization that want's to work for basically free.

That is fair... so I heard about Golden Dragon Wrestling in Moose Jaw and I'm thinking about going to check it out. I think it runs once a month on Fridays. If we can get Regina fans involved, maybe they can make a run of it and actually stay around for a while. I'll keep you posted.
