It's illegal in Florida. We get the cops there everytime and everyone participating gets arrested. Infact, I'm typing this from jail.

Although there is no specific law which bans backyard wrestling in the state of Kentucky, there are two ways which this can go:
a) If the Kentucky Boxing & Wrestling Authority is notified that there is an advertised wrestling show (meaning that prominent word-of-mouth promotion, flyers, signs, banners, internet postings, etc) taking place, and the promoter of the show is not properly licensed or bonded, they can elect to notify the police to have the show broken up, and can notify the Commonwealth's attorneys that they wish to file a lawsuit against the promoter for failure to be properly licensed, bonded and pay appropriate fees for the promotion of the show.
b) If the KBWA decides not to prosecute, and there are a significant number of people in attendance, local authorities may decide to arrest any of the wrestlers involved for assault, and arrest the promoter for essentially provoking an assault. The local district attorney can decide from there whether or not to take those charges into court.

Parts of New York ban BYW. Specifically my town. If they find a ring, they say its a permanent structure, and it needs to come down immediately, if it doesn't, something is done about your house. If you move one town over, its legal. .

as far as i know, its pretty much illegal EVERYWHERE, but most of the time, cops just dont give a crap about it, cuz its too much paperwork to bother with. Unless you get some bored cops, or some old timer cops, or rookie cops trying to make a name for themselves, or if you pissed them off previously and they have a grudge.

B) Noise complaints can be filed C) Assault accusations can be filed

Backyard Wrestling is totally legal in Florida, depending on certain things. You can have a ring in your yard, providing it doesn't break your deed restrictions if you live in a community. If you are in an undeeded area, you can have a ring, as many people as you want, and be as loud as you want to until whatever time. Also, a police officer is not legally alowed to step foot in someone's backyard unless they are given permission from the owner of the house, of if they have a warrant out for someone's arrest. In the state of Florida, if a cop is on your property for any un-just reason, and if he refuses to leave once he is told to, you are allowed to shoot the cop with an firearms, as long as you shoot him in the front side of his body. If you shoot him in the back, that means he was walking away. Crazy stuff, but that's how it works here.

SOOOO gay. I remember when I used to live in Florida, the cops used to say "You have to show fear in order to be considered a victim". I remember these two boys broke into an old man's house, thinking it was abandoned, and he shot one of them and the other escaped. They were trespassing, and he was in fear for his life. BUT because he didnt warn them he had a gun, and didnt warn them he was gonna shoot, HE got arrested and had charges filed against him. HOW GAY IS THAT? ?!?!?!?!?

Yeah but guess what? If you just shoot them in the head and kill them, it's your word against a dead persons. And also, they dropped the law of having to warn someone. If anyone steps on your property or into your home, that you feel is a threat, you are allowed to kill the person. If you have a permit to carry a firearms with you any time, you can also kill someone out in public if they threaten you with a weapon.

Cops have come to many of our shows, only to realize that as long as we're on our own property, there isn't anything they can do about it. On public property however, you can be kicked out.

All I know is cops here cant do anything about a ring or noise during the day, hence why we have had a cop at almost every show and always get away with not so much as a warning. They cannot search anything for any reason if you say I do not consent to any searches unless they have probable cause and noise complaints are not and willnever be probably cause. BYW may annoy neighbors here but they have to deal with it, they will never get us in trouble over it.

A lawyer said on a messageboard that it would be unconstitutional.
and if you think about it, and all the other dumb crap people do, it is unconstitutional.

I don't get how it could ever be illegal, besides having a permament structure (ring) erected. I mean, you can't get charged with assault unless the person your wrestling presses charges, otherwise it's all consensual, err, previously agreed upon. It's basically choreographed (sp?) fighting, so its pretty much acting. Nothing illegal about that.
