I hope so. It's a shame to think that the only time when I was invested in him was the night after WrestleMania 29 - and that's coming up to five years ago now... I loved his do or die type feud with Miz last year, hard to believe that was a year ago already. That's when I really got into him again and it only annoyed me further when it once again went nowhere and he was right back to being a complete jobber. Sadly I can't see this current "push" being any different. They just don't seem to like the guy.

I remember it so vividly.
I was 9 years old. I remember that it was a Tuesday because every Tuesday was the day my dad would take me into town after school and get a new figure. Being from Scotland, when everything went down in New York it was the afternoon over here, I don't really remember much of what happened in school that day. I know that the weather was nice over here that afternoon, I was in Primary 4, I know who my teacher etc and have a vague memory of the last hour before we finished at 3pm.
I went with my dad into the town straight after school and we headed to my favourite figure shop Scotsmann Models. It was a small little store run by a lovely couple who knew me as a valued customer and was centred around wrestling figures and memorabilia, so much so that their sub name was the 'WWF Shop'(WWE Shop a year later) but they also had various other action figures and collectables, but I was strictly there for the wrestling stuff.
That day I got the TTL series 8 Rock figure(Black trunks and red logos) which came with a sledgehammer accessory. After that we headed to McDonald's for some food and then got the bus back to my dad's house. We could've easily walked but I used to resent the long, seemingly daunting walk home from the town as a kid(Now I probably get home from the town quicker by foot than I would if I took the bus).
This was now about 4:30pm GMT and we still had no clue about what was going on in America. Word got around that there was an apparent bomb scare in the town so I think that was the main reason we took the bus as it goes on a slight detour route rather than a straight line due to how the roads are set up. I remember that bus being absolutely packed but not having a care in the world. I sat on a seat near the front playing with my new figure and tapping entrance themes with the sledgehammer that came with it.
We got back to my dad's house(Which is just up the street from my mum's house where I stayed) and I got settled down in the living room. My dad switched the TV, initially as background noise as he went about doing other stuff but after a few moments he stopped in his tracks and was glued to the screen in disbelief. Me being 9 years old, I obviously had zero idea of the magnitude of the attacks. I footage of the towers up in smoke and the plane crashing into them. I figured it was just an accident and that these things happen all the time and wasn't phased by it.
After about an hour or so my dad dropped me off home, where my mum, older cousin and his girlfriend were also watching the news in shock and disgust. I joined in on the conversation for a bit, but the big story for 9 year old me was my brand new Rock figure and I sat at the back wall of the living room playing with my TTL figures and SmackDown Real Sounds Arena, enjoying the sun that was still shining and catching up with my cousin.
What can I say, I was just an innocent 9 year old child. Little did I know just how big of tragedy happened on that day and how monumental that date would become.
16 years later and I can safely say that I'll remember September 11, 2001 for the rest of my life.

It seems that people who were adults back then hated Raw in 2003 while people like myself, who were kids, loved it. I was 11 back then, and I'd been watching WWE since the 90's, but I still look back at 2003 as one of my favourite years ever. I don't even think it's the rose tinted glasses of it being my childhood, because I can still watch it back now and I still get hyped.
Kane's unmasking was definitely my favourite thing that year.I never knew what he looked like, so even though I'd always been told that wrestling was predetermined, I was still watching under the mindset that underneath the mask, Kane had been badly disfigured in a fire as a child. So in the regard, It was incredible to me how different he looked after unmasking. I'm glad I was a kid during that era, because I probably wouldn't have enjoyed Kane as much knowing that he was just Dr Isaac Yankem and the fake Diesel under a new moniker.

Thought tonight was a really enjoyable edition of SD. The one thing I've missed is show-long angles and storylines and it was nice to see that again tonight. Loving the Shane McMahon-Kevin Owens programme. Didn't care too much for the preliminary matches but they weren't bad. And of course the main event was fantastic. Great cliffhanger ending to end the show too. Looking forward to seeing Owens face the McMusic next week!

La Resistance seem like great guys! Good to see they're on good terms with one another because from what I've seen, they weren't too fond of each other once upon a time. Great stuff as always man.

I highly doubt him forgetting and flubbing his lines was "in the script". Roman collapsed under pressure and simply cannot hang with Cena on the mic. End of story. Yeah, since Roman is so bad for you and Cena is so good, lets have him around for another 10 years to have him having spectacular matches like the Undertaker from the last 3 wrestlemanias, or better yet, lets bring Hogan and Nash back that are so good in the mic, because thats what wrestling is about, right? Bottom line, is not good for business having Cena getting the upper hand, even is its a mic fight. I haven't got a clue what the you just said.

Shame, he's by far my favourite commentator on SD. Now we're left with 2 generic commentators who sound like the same person. They'll probably move Otunga back to SD.

Well deserved. But it feels rather weird because I remember him as a rookie named Deacon Batisata so vividly. Hard to believe it's been 15 years. I remember being 10 years old and thinking "who the hell is this guy" and thinking that he wouldn't amount to anything. A year later he was in Evolution and I loved him. And the rest of course is history.
I was thinking they'd put Daniel Bryan in this year considering where they're going to be. That would feel even more weird because he still feels like somewhat of a newcomer in the WWE.

I was so elated when Alexa regained the title. I do not like Sasha Banks at all and thought it was funny to see her get made to look like a complete jabroni. When they drew attention to the fact that she had never successfully defended the title, it seemed painfully obvious that the intention was to break the cycle. So it was a very nice surprise when Bliss won. And won clean to boot. Emma's new music is awful, I hope to god they drop that sh*t. Never expected Jeff Hardy to win, figured Jason Jordan was inevitable. Nice surprise. Cena slaughtering Reigns was brilliant. How embarrassed did Roman look? I've never seen someone look so shattered in my entire life. I could almost feel the embarrassment for him! Got flustered, forgot his lines, didn't know what to say, stuttered and flubbed what he did remember, and the content of his promo legit sounded like he just read a bunch of anti Cena comments from YouTube. It was weak. I groaned when he started talking about Cena's metaphorical shovel. That was about as lame as it gets. It's stuff like that which make me miss CM Punk. The polar opposite of Reigns on the mic.

Random thoughts on SD this week.
The sooner Jinder loses the title the better. He's had it for far longer than necessary now. That opening segment with the Singh Brothers was cringe worthy to watch Not sure how I feel about Roode being a face just yet. I'll need to see him in an actual programme first before I can comment.
I legit forgot Mike Kanellis was even on the roster. That push ended fast.
Great seeing Shelton Benjamin back!
Baron Corbin is still a generic wooden emotionless mule.
Enjoying the Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon stuff and looking forward to seeing what it leads to. I can never get enough Shane O'Mac!
Glad to finally see Dolph Ziggler back on screen. Really enjoying the content of his promos, especially when he called Balor a charisma vacuum. Not sure exactly what it's leading to, but I get the feeling that like everything else they do with him, it's probably going to lead to nothing and he'll be right back where he was before. I hope to god I'm wrong.
Dean Ambrose's potted plant had more presence than Tamina does.
Not a bad SD this week. Really looking forward to Orton and Nakamura next week. They've given away a lot of these first time dream matches for free this year. Cena vs. Nakamura. Orton vs. Styles and now this one.

People complain about hating this mega push Reigns has been getting for years, yet hate that Cena cut a promo saying this? I loved Cena's promo. I can't stand the Reigns character and Cena basically cut a promo cutting down the crappy character and push he's getting. Sadly Roman will likely be going over at No Mercy, but Cena's promo was amazing. You could tell it really flustered Reigns and he simply couldn't keep up with the Doctor of Thuganomics. He didn't keep up with that idiot because he was told to do so. Its called "script". Any other thing he (Roman) said was true, I dont even know how they allowed him to say that. I highly doubt him forgetting and flubbing his lines was "in the script". Roman collapsed under pressure and simply cannot hang with Cena on the mic. End of story.

Was the mask meant to say that Asuka was gonna show up? Or that she was not gonna show up. Well she's not showing up now. You're probably reading into it way too much.
