I honestly think they just said that so people go buy rings. I’m sure, like most of us, they want to see a second version of the ring, and that’s dependent on sales of the first one. Seemed pretty tongue in cheek when they said it imo. This is how I took it also. I love the retros and I want Mattel to keep making them, so if I had a platform with thousands of listeners i’d be doing the same thing.

This would be really interesting if it happened - especially the non WWE contracted Legends! Those legends would have to have a deal with AEW/the toy company... I thought that went without saying, to be quite honest. Speculation as it is.

If they went with Hasbro, would there be any issues with making the old style hasbros, what with the retros on the shelves (sometimes) from Mattel?
It would mean they could release figures of Cody, Bucks etc but also guys that are not under WWE legends deals that wouldn’t get retro figures by Mattel.
In my opinion, Cody and the Bucks seem like some retro-loving dudes. Bucks are doing the LJNs of themselves, Cody said No Mercy is the best wrestling game ever (he’s right, and imagine if they used that engine for an AEW game). I could see them rivalling the retros with some old Hasbro style figures.

My local Home Bargains had 2 of Ambrose and Rollins each and that was it. Mind you, I will still happy to see them.

That Goldust is great, in my opinion. Glad it’s a throwback, great that the wig comes off. Very impressed. Orton is Orton. Not much you can do with Randy.
That commercial is brilliant. Really nailed the feel of the originals. Those chaps look like they’re really enjoying themselves. Long may this line continue.
Now, can’t wait to see Diesel!

The shop of wrestling said the series with flair etc was a one-and-done situation. They know they can’t get anymore stock. Smyths said they won’t be stocking that series also. It seems that series just wasn’t destined for the UK.
I don’t get what happened with reigns and Owens but clearly they changed the packing and we never got them over here, bar 1 or 2 for silly prices here and there. I was lucky to have a friend in Canada who picked them up from his local Walmart when they came out. Shipping wasn’t even that extortionate.
It is quite worrying going forward that Mattel aren’t too bothered about distribution over here, but at least the online stores are carrying them.

Having received series 5 this week I have to say I think Big E is my favourite retro so far. His action is perfect, he’s a power guy and he’s got a power move. His facial expression is goofy like the hasbros, but unlike the Woods it actually looks like him. His gear is bright and colourful, making a change from all the black attire we’ve seen so far (yeah a lot of guys wear black, but some of the figures have come with black attire when there were much more colourful choices available ex. Styles, Rollins, Cena).
For all the negatives people seem to have about this line (not enough legends etc), you have to admit the Big E retro is a great throwback to the Hasbro days, and if they continue in this vein going forward I’ll be very happy.
Of the current guys that should get a retro, I’m hoping for a Rusev.

I was a bit disappointed with modern HBK initially, but it has been 8 years since he retired, its still a retro - just not a hasbro era.
As pointed out above, I would love the new age outlaws. But the main one i want after Diesel is a Hollywood Hogan.

...was just about to order all Series 5 from Wrestling Shop, as they'd be free postage and only £1 over retail (£12 each), only to find they've put them all up by £1 (£13 now) - and Macho up to £18! 😠 I was holding off all day because I wanted the 4 & 5 box set. Ended up panicking and buying them all at £12, moments later they were £13 & £18. I must have been so lucky on the timing.

Ronda in the Piper mould would be a good callback. Asuka would make a great retro, with her colourful gear.

So they’ve said before they’re open to making retro women, and that was reiterated in the Q&A. How many women of the past realistically have a shot of getting made?
My personal wants: alundra blaze Luna vachon Sensational Sherri
But I suspect we’ll get modern women in the retro style, which would be far less interesting to me.

Eh that sucks about Double J. I know a lot of people will Ben bummed about that one. Vader has had 2 releases and honestly that’s all I need. So while it’s cool there’s no real need for another Is there really any other Vader attires left to make? Retro

I love that Kurt Angle retro. It makes me want to go back to the 90s and play with figures again.

The Diesel hasbro had planned used old parts and it sucked. It just used a Papa Shango body, which has tights under boots rather than what Diesel actually wore.

Smyths have said no more WWE Retros in their stores. Knew it was a bad sign they were dumping existing stock. Bad news for UK collectors! Source?

The fact we have figures based on the Hasbro style all these years later is a dream come true for me, literally. I get the criticisms. The base & the app? Needless. Lots of the same mold, a bit annoying, especially since it was one of the least favoured mold of the old series. Not as many legends as we’d hoped.
But if you’re a Hasbro fan, you’ve gotta look at the miracle of these even existing. In the late 90s I found a little stall in an indoor market that sold Hasbros I didn’t even know existed (eg 1-2-3 kid) and Hasbro I had never seen in the flesh before (Skinner, Giant Gonzalez), and I wondered if the line was still going, just not in the shops anymore. Then I saw Beyond the Mat and there was a quick shot of some Hasbro style figures of Mankind. Little did I know they were customs. Then I found out the line had in fact stopped and that was the end. I’d never have a Stone Cold, a Rock, a Sting, a Kane in Hasbro form.
20 years later I have them. This line has potential to be great. I get there’s a lull and you can’t please everyone with the choices of what wrestler, outfit, pose etc. But I’m giving them a 9. They aren’t Hasbro, and hasbros are a 10, but I think even at their worst they’re a 9 for merely existing.
Now if we got a Diesel... 9.9!

These are great! The new day are colourful, cartoony, have good poses, ridiculous facial expressions. They are every bit the hasbro homage we want. Anybody that’s looking at these going “terrible SCAN... and it’s not even to SCALE”
You’re missing the whole point.
