Big fan of brawlers snd love seeing your collection Imo I think brawlers should be done as follows: First time, desirable characters, āanchorsā should be open to purchase Niche characters (deep aew roster etc), repaints, variants etc in crate Weāve seen the number of crates not just from PWT but others go down and popularity wane. People just have too much āstuffā. Realistically who buys a crate for a million dollar man clip or hot rod towel etc? People buy them cos the shirts are decent (even if just for gym, slobbing about etc and the brawlers. Iād like to see a ābrawlerā only option where you can just get the monthly brawler for set price, slight discount if you sign up for 6 or 12 month options etc I respectfully disagree. I only subscribe to the crate for the brawlers and pins. The rest is garbage. That garbage isnāt going to get any better and only gets worse over time. So, the only way to make the crate worth it is to include popular characters. Heavy hitters. Niche characters do not please a larger fanbase and subscriptions will dwindle even more. So would you like the suggestion I made they go for a brawler only crate? As I said in my earlier post most get the crates for the brawler or shirt (or in your example pin) and I think the days of monthly mystery boxes and crates etc are numbered as it is. A lot have already fell away and this oneās gone bi monthly. Itāll be quarterly next then eventually go imo.

I believe Jim cornette commented once on it or it may have been hall of fame - my memory is fuzzy but I think that he said legends contracts (this might have changed since now theyāre called something different) had built into them an element of public appearances (maybe things like access etc), potential tv appearances such as one offs etc and he didnāt want to sign up to that.
Maybe people who are older, settled etc donāt want that hassle and are happy to sit by and get lower numbers with the indie companies etc

I still don't see what you all are talking about on the NJPW figs, they're incredible Okadaās head literally looks like a cartoon whereas the others appear to resemble humans. It sticks out so much: I own all the other figures minus Bushi and like them very much. Ospreay has a little bit of that cartoon look as well but nowhere near as bad as Okada. The belt looks very cartoony too, the paints very yellow and flat finish not metallic v gold (which I assume itās supposed to be)

I like how you say "locked" behind a crate like you can't get it off of eBay easily. What is the difference between a set amount of crate orders versus a set amount of stand-alone preorders? Once the preorder window is up, those brawlers are "locked" too. The All Elite crate brawlers are plentiful on the secondary market and I have never once heard of a complaint that Jungle Boy was in the crate instead of on his own. The first wave of AEW brawlers are way more rare than anything from the crates and those were stand alone preorders. I don't know why we even got this new Adam Cole brawler (one of my least favorite ever made), but that doesn't mean we should change the crate system. If I am subscribing to the crate, then I want my monies worth. I want good options. Not throwaway options and definitely not different versions of existing characters (unless it is a complete gimmick change). People shouldn't have to go to the secondary market after the fact because a first time in the Brawlers line wrestler was dropped in a Crate IMO. (Especially when AEW promotes Brawler preorders on their shows. Lord knows that company has enough trouble building and maintaining heat for stars as it is, so having an ad for say a Starks Brawler seems like a win-win for everyone, but I digress). And FTR, I feel the same about Jungle Boy, Claudio, Eddie, etc. It's backwards that those names have only been available as a blind crate or later on the secondary market. And FWIW, I feel the same way about the main PWCrate that I subscribe to. I greatly prefer more niche names in their that would unlikely to warrant a single release. However, all of this is oof course my opinion and I certainly respect that we have different views on it. (We do agree on thing thing at least though: That half-devil Cole Brawler is incredibly dumb, and I say that as a big Cole fan/collector) Big fan of brawlers snd love seeing your collection Imo I think brawlers should be done as follows: First time, desirable characters, āanchorsā should be open to purchase Niche characters (deep aew roster etc), repaints, variants etc in crate Weāve seen the number of crates not just from PWT but others go down and popularity wane. The Youtube live unboxing videos certainly makes it look like the came out better than I anticipated. Might pick up at least a Myers if it's around during a sale at some point. Looking at the pod insta imo itās the faces again which are off. Even with the hair snd bears from beck up imo you couldnāt tell itās Myers. Super 7 are great at the turtles and other masked / cartoon / not real faces but they really struggle getting a good likeness for anyone. These are not really much better than the reactions which is saying something since theyāre ultimates. The Alice in wonderland ultimates are a prefect example of how great they can be, best alice figures/dolls to date

Got my House of the Dragons Visery today, ordered three to try for that awesome chase, well my luck wasn't good lol. Im just gonna buy it when it drops some,no need for 10 of these lol. At least one came a little messed up,so I'm sending that one back,so Ill only have one extra. My Aemonds got shipped too,so hopefully have better luck with those three. I just started watching Game of Thrones. Hopefully it's as good as people say. I have a couple GoT Pops buried somewhere in my garage. Glad Iām not the only one who gets into series 10+ years after they start lol I just got the boxset snd working through series 1 I hear it gets really bad towards the end.

See, to me that makes even more of a case that a store exclusive line would still have a new tooling budget of some sort if needed. In your example, they were willing to spend money on a brand new, 1 off tooling, for a Gooker to be used soley in a SDCC display with no plans of retail or way to recoup said tooling costs.Ā Would they not be willing to do the same for a line going to retail, even limited retail, with the added advantage of customer purchases to offset those same costs?Ā Ā That just seems like bad business. Thereās no profit for Mattel when you or I buy a figure at mass retail. Mattel made their money when the retailerās buyers put in their orders to Mattel. We arenāt Mattelās customers the retailers are. As for Gooker it was the first year they had the license everything was new and those pieces were made to show what they could do as it would pay off in the long run. A store like Target or WalMart toys arenāt the storeās focus for sales. Thatās why with every department reset they just put everything on clearance. They just want something on the pegs to get more customers in the store. So the retailerās buyers just ask Mattel for exclusives and Mattel sells them repaints. Especially for this MNW set. Unlike the Target Legends line which has no end in sight the MNW line is a short term line. They (MNW) are basically an evergreen line so itās a no frills line. These big chain retailers arenāt like RSC who actually work with Mattel for what they want. Also companies go all out at SDCC because itās pretty much THE big showcase. Itās like the superbowl commercials or Christmas adverts a lot of time and cost etc will go into it because itās their single biggest advert with most eyes on the product. Case in point when they did that amazing huge entrance way at SDCC

I know itās hypothetical but for what itās worth I donāt think warrior should ever be left to just one or contact expire (like whatever happened with macho)
If you see āgeneric wrestlerā in media from comic books to a looney tunes cartoon etc itās a clone of warrior with the huge muscles, facepaint, tassels etc. He was so iconic itās unbelievable.
Granted hogan may have been a bigger draw but thereās only do many red yellow or Hollywood looks whereas warrior is almost limitless, once you got through every look technology with faces and, devo hits, articulation etc wouldāve improved warranting an update.
Maybe the only one who comes close is cena just because his merch was refreshed so frequent and he was such a huge star snd now approaching if not in legend status that you could go him forever for the same reasons as warrior

I think what people are missing here is not what attires / era hasnāt been covered, we can all list plenty
But who have we got satisfactory attires / eras from
Yeah we could have s big bubba but would that take precedence over say a mid 90s Steiner? Remember ever figure in the line takes up a spot and thereās people who yeah we could have another look for but do we want it to take up a valuable slot?
Imo thereās 2 boss man iconic looks. Anything after that is filler but when thereās people signed like the steiners who we have much more iconic looks for then yeah Iād say personally boss man is done.

Man, I thought making the separate threads was supposed to streamline things - but seems like in each of the different retro threads weāre talking about a different one of the brands! š But I donāt know if anyone saw the GG video on Instagram, but quite a few upcoming prototypes were shown - and whilst I recognise that they arenāt the production figures, I thought that they all looked pretty great! And the same goes for Droese & Girard, both looked cool. I think in theory it was a good idea snd chairshot out in time trying to make it more organised Problem is when you have so many small companies all doing the same type of figure and the same people thereās always going to be crossover You get it in the mattel forum comparing jakks classics from 20 years ago to Mattelās bring released today. Figured bring released months apart from these companies only magnifies that comparison

Had this been a different pose, I would have probably wanted to own this. That said, Iām satisfied with the Grapplers and Gimmicks version: http://instagram.com/p/C127VRZJRcq Personally thatās a common thing for me across the line Apart from Myers cos he requested it is there an actual hasbro like pose? No clothesline I can think of, 1 jumper, otherwise itās a generic standing pose Why not have the macho 1 / HBK/ Martel etc style pose? Why not a clothesline type pose? They all virtually stand the same

I assume especially with wcw nitro debut luger Monday night wars will cover sept 95 to March 2001
So we can expect some new gen but this will probably be more attitude era heavy, especially since thereās about 1.5 / 2 years of new gen v about 3.5 years of attitude era. Be interesting to know which timeframe they lean on more

I occasionally watch unboxings of these if Iām bored and general thoughts seem to be the quality has gone down?
I have an email offering 40% off first box if I re-sign up. Are we thinking theyāre struggling? Had splitting out the boxes to include a specific aew box diluted them?
I think the brawlers are the main attraction for people?

Hi Steve
Hope you and the family had a great Christmas and DLL the best for the new year
I see that smyths are having the Monday night war elites in which is amazing, so firstly thanks for all the work I know you do trying to help get us stuff over here.
My questions: 1 I canāt see the Monday night war ultimates, do you know if smyths have taken them up and fill thru be coming a bit later? 2. Do you know if they or entertainer etc have taken up the knuckle crunchers line as that looks really fun too

Why do I get the feeling George was originally supposed to come in a 2 pack with Macho, and Roddy with a Red/Yellow Hogan or even a Bob Orton? Sure, would have made more sense. But even from the start, what exactly is the Hogan/Funk connection? Same first name? Yes, theyāve had matches, including Saturday Nightās Main Event, but Hogan had more memorable feuds with many others. Of whoās likely available, better feud pairings would have been Andre, Piper, Sheik, Studd, Bossman, or DiBiase. Seems like they donāt mind being relatively random, just wanting to pair an anchor with someone who would be less likely to sell/be produced on their own. Without doubt andre is the figure to go with hogan. Mania 3, the SNME etc. for the time this is hitting hogan Andre is the pairing

Iām in the UK. One of the big online retailers called Very (and their sister company Littlewoods) started stocking them in mid December, they sell them blind so you donāt know who youāre getting. I bought eight hoping Iād at least get one of each, but six of them were Roman Reigns. I was hoping smyths might get then in. Love the look of them but thought they were more hasbro size.
