...where's: "no, Mattel Elites are the best"? "no, Mattel Legends are the best"? "no, Mattel Ultimate Edition (regular lines) are the best"? When you look at longevity, breadth of talent there’s no question it’s elites. Yes there’s issues with them but a lot of that is because we have been spoilt with them do good I mean that bezerker years back, who’d have thought so much care and attention to a midcarder. Classics were good but not elite good.

@Chair.Shot -- the weird thing is the Mabel was incredible, then the quality went back. It was sad to see. I hope Mitch can turn things around Was just about the say the biggest issue with G&G is inconsistency From poor to very good. No midpoint or consistency.

Somewhat negative but I want to sell most of my collection and just concentrate on a few lines. Coliseum Collection and Retros (from various companies incl Mattel) I don’t think that’s negative, I know a video game collector who dons a lot to concentrate on specifics and was much happier with his collection after I also think collecting certain lines or having a more curated collection is more interesting snd impressive than just collecting everything 👍

It's not true. Mattel has He-Man and will continue to. The maker of that video used to work for Mattel and was the brand manager for Masters of the Universe, but now he has an axe to grind and that's a big part of his videos (he knows what gets people watching). Yeah he’s been predicting their breakup for years now. Mattel has announced product for MOTU into next year as well as launching new lines like the TMNT crossover and figures based on the Filmation series. Funny how people perceive things different but I’ve never had the impression he has an ace to grind? I’m not sure how he left if it was amicable etc and tbh none of my business. He has mentioned often he had to work on classics in his own time and I thought that was a noble thing.

I believe unhappy with his suspension Shawn refused to send back the title so razor had a new one As a kid the fact Shawns looked crappy totally had me buying into the angle. I was like “Shawns gone and made his own belt” lol The fact that Vince Ultimately hired him right back/didn't fire him (depends on who tells the story) and didn't blackball him after that says a lot in Vince's belief in Shawn and his talent. A lot of people would have just cut him loose and washed their hands of him in a position like that. I think Pat and Bruce as well if not more so. Pat was championing Shawn to be the main man and turn babyface and Vince apparently told him Shawn “would never” be champ or a good guy and because they went on about it so much told them to never mention it again. then later after Shawn was getting great reactions Vince asked “why did nobody tell me I had a babyface on my hands” lol. At times the WWF office feels like it’s be more comical (unintentionally) than the TV show ‘the office’. Who would be the Dwight? Lol

One was a little more faded than the other (HBK's belt); it looked a bit more silver than gold. If anyone has the old Legends Ultimate Warrior or Mr Perfect, you’ve got a faded IC title you can use. I believe unhappy with his suspension Shawn refused to send back the title so razor had a new one As a kid the fact Shawns looked crappy totally had me buying into the angle. I was like “Shawns gone and made his own belt” lol

Happy Holidays. Enjoy this gift from Major WF Pod. A complete history of Jakks BCA 1996 & 1997! On YouTube now and wherever you get your podcasts. Great video Matt. These annual Xmas specials are part of what I look forward to over the festive period. Great watch to keep my entertained while building all my kids toys etc on Christmas Day. I think it’s the combination of knowledge and personal stories which makes them 👍

Someone on facebook was saying with the purple background it's reminescent of WMXI. Not sure if that's what they were going for, but I wouldn't mind some figs based on WMXI if that's what could be in the works. World Champ Diesel, Shawn, Razor, Bret, Backlund, not sure who else they have access to, Bigelow and LT would be cool though if they could do them. Also here's a few rings I've customized, also done a couple with the mat and apron seperate colors, and they couldn't do the 2 colors on the ring posts/turnbuckles for the Nitro ring, but guess they could compromise on all black posts and maybe go red ropes then to add some color, I was going for early era Nitro though so that's why I chose the colors I did. And I think I'd probably honestly prefer a WCW ring since they wouldn't need to use fake logos, anything WWF and I'm buying custom decals at minimum. Would still love to see them go hard into WCW mid 90's, lots of options on the table there and I think that's another big sweet spot for Hasbro fans, since alot of us went over to WCW around the time Hasbros ended since that's also when Hogan and Savage came over. Great work. The summerslam one especially pops off the screen

Personally I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either
Would I change done stuff? Sure.
Do I like elements? Yep
Perfect world, I’d like either: an updated KOTR to be very true to the original line Or a set with multiple parts. E.g have blue and black posts, blue black and yellow turnbuckles red white and blue ropes, all red ropes, black tiles etc. that way you could do old school wcw, old wwf, attitude wwf etc and change out, swap round etc

An easy solution to this is for mattel to build a warehouse in the uk so things can be shipped domestically. For europe i believe it is screwed as the amount of toy collectors and wrestling fans is far and few between. crappy situation. Shipping rules changed in march of this year and anything sent overseas to europe requires an increased amount of detail on the customs forms and scrutiny when it is received by customs personnel. Any brand new items especially. I sent a declared gift to a friend in europe ( about 110 euros in value) and she had to pay nearly 25%. Not sure on the UK but ever since they left the EU everything shipped out of the uk is very expensive now. For me shipping to the eu or uk is finished. I will only ship to canada now. I am pretty sure soon mattel creations will opt out and do the same. The rules and fees are just too much. This is all done on purpose to reduce carbon. The less people ship the less boats and planes travel overseas and even domestically. Expect things to get worse and not better. I would not be surprised if it goes up to 35% at some point. Problem is wrestling and wrestling figures are in the way down in the uk Smyths and entertainer have both massively cut sections in the stores I go to. Yeah smyths have had a few legends in but on the whole sections are shrinking or there’s a lot more of the same figures. Know people will cite AEW but that’s a specific fanbase WWE/F always used to do 2 annual tours after mania and survivor hitting Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London and maybe a couple more. That’s now turned into 2 or 3 cities on a tour. Also my kids at primary school no one in their years (year 5 and 3 and aged 9 and 8 respectively) watches wrestling. Don’t see any other kids with wrestling backpacks etc or shirts. I see more middle aged men wearing wrestling shirts than kids out snd about snd those are wearing austin, warrior, savage or aew shirts Mattel are not going to make huge investments for minimum gain unfortunately. Hopefully as with all things time will come again for wrestling to get popular

Hey fellow ‘other brand’ posters and readers
What a year it’s been, it’s never quiet on this board and this years been no exception
I think it’s fair to say there’s been highs and lows but it’s never boring.
Since the festivities are kicking into high gear and people will be spending more time with friends and family and less online I wanted to wish everyone a merry Christmas and all the best for 2024.
Big shout out to those who’ve shared breaking news, detailed reviews of their pick ups etc 👍

That’s funny. I just finished writing a book about every Jakked match ever, available on Amazon, and if I never see another Essa Rios match again it will be ok with me. However all those guys would be fantastic toys and great additions I have some which detail all raw episodes, they’re really good. I like books like this that go really into the weeds on shows etc 👍

The proportions are just way off on this one. His arms should be shorter and legs longer. A humans hand does not come to the bottom of the knee. Im not sure how or why a figure making process can make it this far without the designer or sculptor noticing this and changing it before it gets to a production stage. Why do the buyers have to point out the flaws before changes get made or ignored and defended? Im so glad i don’t collect this scale anymore. I have all my many years of memories of my hasbros but these companies trying to recapture the nostalgia, is just all over the place with vision and execution for me to ever invest in any of them. **And yes i know hasbros had their imperfections at times** The arms are bent too, if straight they’d be touching his ankles Problem is the arms and proportions have always been off but people accepted it and still raved so it gave an excuse for it to get worse and worse Look at Mitch’s - imo the quality started to get better but has since dropped because people continued buying. Until prople talk with wallets quality will continue to go down

If mattel were to make a super detailed figure like say warrior with tassels being articulated / posable (think the ‘wire’ type technology you get in some capes etc) and paint apps super detailed and well done what sort of price point would people be willing to go to?
Think your ultimate (pun intended) warrior figure, super possible, face sculpt like you’re looking at a photo etc the real deal.

Cheers! Does anyone here collect these in the UK, and if so, is it as difficult and costly as I'm assuming it is? I've been close to picking up Shawn in the past, as it's a great looking figure and my preferred era for him. I recently had the chance and blew it, to have Vader, which I'm a little gutted over... But I really love this line, and I'm wondering if it's worth the bother as UK collector...? I’ve pretty much got the first 3 series but close to giving up. It’s working out £30ish a figure, and they are becoming harder to get as the series go on. I’ve been following since they were announced but never pulled the plug due to the cost on the bay. The listings seem to end and get out back up at the same price with clearly people are not willing to pay. As you say about 30 quid a pop so best part of 200 got a series? Not worth it. This is the single line I wish we got over here more than any other but I’m going to look into the rsc bell to bell new line. In other news love your avatar, KRO ⚽️🌏👍

I doubt it Legends/merchandise are longer than one year deals. They probably just didn’t sign exclusivity to the WWE. Jake Robert’s and Billy Gunn still had Mattel figures long after they left and went to AEW. It’s just too bad Sting didn’t do a merchandise deal like Jake & Gunn. It used to be very rare for non-exclusive deals but they seem to be more and more common I wonder if possibly the new ‘heritage’ or whatever it’s called deals are less restrictive than the old ‘legends’ deals? I suppose from wwe (or TKO or whatever) perspective if they sign exclusive deals they prob give the talent a higher % so are going down the route of non exclusive to give the talent a lower % but thinking they’ll still sell the same? E.g. using made up figures: say someone sells 5k units @ $20 and 10% goes to talent on exclusive deal that would be $10k given to the talent. However if they sign them to non exclusive then that’s $5k to talent so wwe can take a bigger cut of profits? Just a thought.

We didn’t forget he was coming in 2024, we were told on the very first post of this thread he was coming in 2023. Honestly glad it is coming tho, but man they sure come slow. has Zombie ever met one of his own (over-hyped) deadlines?
so is it any wonder that he's only going to deliver his 6" line a year after he said he would?
And that was at the start of 2023 so he had a whole year to deliver and failed. I mean at least we will probably get at some point so that’s +1 on rush at least
