It's taboo to talk about, but everyone knows that minorities tend to vote Democrat. Why is that? Well, because they see these old, racist pieces of crap in office and say " that guy." But the conservative media is telling me that it is because they want free stuff.

They voted for Bush because he seemed like a 'regular guy' compared to the uptight Gore, and many thought it didn't matter which they voted for since things in America were good. 9/11 changed that. Even as a 14-year-old, the whole "George W. Bush is a guy you could sit and have a beer with!" thing was weird to me. I do think there is a lot of value in a candidate making himself seem as much of a salt of the Earth kind of guy as possible, I wouldn't ever vote for someone on that basis. I'd rather vote for someone who I felt was a lot smarter than I am. I'm with ya. I didn't get it in 2000, and I don't get it now. Just because Gore couldn't deliver a scintillating speech they rejected a continuation of the Clinton years success in favor of Dubya's personality. Talk about missing the forest for the trees.

Clinton finished with an approval rating of 68%, which matched those of Ronald Reagan and Franklin D. Roosevelt as the highest ratings for departing presidents in the modern era Gore could have had him campaign for him, he decided not to. It was a dumb decision by a smart man. If he was so popular the country would not have turned in a radically different direction by electing Bush. Bush essentially campaigned against clinton and won. Like almost everything in the 90s clinton is popular now because of nostalgia. Not saying he was a bad Prez but not great either. They voted for Bush because he seemed like a 'regular guy' compared to the uptight Gore, and many thought it didn't matter which they voted for since things in America were good. 9/11 changed that.

Funny enough, had mittens run following a 'smaller, simpler, smarter' method maybe he would have won

[ Big part of the reason for his current popularity is nostalgia. At the end if his term he was so unpopular that al gore couldn't have him campaign for him. The Republicans need to tell the Religious Right to go themselves. Say the same to Rush Limbaugh and other idiots.

Yes, obviously the solution when presented two mediocre/bad candidates is to continue to support the two party duopoly. You are truly a brilliant man, IOWA.

Going with Mitt, but if he doesn't get things done in the next four years, I won't re-elect him. Your sig is ridiculously stupid. What does it matter what the 'average' rate of unemployment during his terms was? He took over with a surplus and booming economy. He lead us into costly wars and was the President when the whole ing economy collapsed! Obama could certainly be doing better, and I can understand criticism that he defers too much blame, but the whitewashing of Bush's legacy is ludicrous.

Detroit is going all the way. The pitching has been terrific and the bats have been crackin! That's what I thought in 2006, just wanting to see St. Louis not win. Goddamn Cardinals.

Romney totally flip flopped, but he was confident and on the attack about it. Obama wasn't bad but he needs to step up his game like robinsonben36 said or he could leave himself open to a lucky punch.
