I’m just gonna add to the hindsight. A hot group right now is the LWO. You couldn’t put an Eddie ghererro ultimate in there with an lwo shirt? Yet you show plans for an ultimate of Eddie down the line. Torrie Wilson is getting a first in the line later too. I don’t know maybe you could put her in as a first in the line? You have a just released Rey in wcw gear with a crueiserwieht title, umpteen hogans and they role out another Rey and hogan? You wait until days before this thing ends to do any type of mass marketing, and that’s after the biggest night in wwe, that has little ties to anything wcw related…I mean..: Where exactly was the planning and strategy team on this?
I appreciate what the team has done but I think people are right in calling out how this was set up.

But by making Macho Man only available to the backers by that date, it essentially made the Macho Man deadline the unofficial deadline because why back and get less stuff? It made everyone make their decision two weeks early then, and it’s why the early bird Hogan this time around didn’t move things much, because if they hit the Hogan deadline, he was going to be available to everyone regardless of if you backed the first day or the last day. There would have been more incentive if they had made Hogan only for the people that ordered in that first week but we will never know how many it would have sold in that scenario. Launching this project with the "Early Bird" already announced nullified being able to really give it a boost when things stalled out. Something to perceivably add value or sweeten the pot which gave the New Generation set essentially two separate deadlines with that first one really laying on the FOMO thick because people knew the "Macho Man" window would be closing. I also do believe that the Hogan figure announced for this set was not the best choice since there is already a similar version available. Yes, Savage already had another UE available, but at least he was given a signature attire from his last prominent match in the WWF which made it feel special. Would like to think regardless of those factors that this things sees some kind of last-minute surge today. Just not sure if it will be enough to get it over the hump, but have to remain optimistic. Even if they don’t unlock all the figures, I have a hard time believe I g they can’t at least throw the Hogan in there at the end. He’s essentially a re release. I guess we’ll see.

While offering all the figures would be fantastic for the fans, it's just not feasible... nor how crowd-funding works. The reason the extra figures/tiers are there is to give fans extra because they have more backers... ie. the extra funding is there. 5K plus Rey and Steiner is the maximum they can offer for for 5K backers - if they included all 5 figures at that level, they'd be making a loss - so it wouldn't be worth doing. Basically: the more backers they get, the more funding they get - so the more figures they can make. Well that’s what we’re led to believe. When this began, we were getting Rey and an essentially re issued hogan. The new Steiner is all new tooling and requires more cost than say a re-issue of an existing mould, ie, hogan. Yet they could quickly move that Steiner into the hogan spot and still be ok with just reaching 5k, even though the cost for creating new moulds/tooling would go up. I’d summits they have the costs already allotted and it just makes good business sense to bring the overhead down.

Mattel you’ve mishandled this from the jump. Make it right, offer all the figs tomorrow and get this funded! Please stop. Why?

All the time you’ve spent on here crying about it you probably coulda picked up a second job to help out. Just sayin. Bro I browse this forum in my spare time at work. Have a job and supplementary income renting an additional property I own. I would have backed this two, maybe 3 times if they weren’t scamming international backers. I haven’t bought anything from MC since they started overcharging international buyers on everything on their site and I won’t as a matter of principal. Oh so you’re just taking moral victory laps. I see. Carry on.

If someone or someones backed in bulk with the sole intent to just artificially inflate the numbers just to cancel at the end.. what a total douche bag thing to do. May you get explosive diarrhea while stuck in a traffic jam. It might have been some online retailers getting some

Great surprise to wake up to a huge jump (43% to 54% is how I saw it). Still it's ridiculous it's only now being advertised on WWE.com and WWE TV. A lot of people need to plan their finances further ahead than a couple days, and word of mouth through the collector/fan communities only takes these things so far. Anyone who visits WWE.com or watches WWE TV should have been made aware of this campaign much earlier, though I would guess the blame here lies with WWE itself and not Mattel. Anyway back to the positivity, please anyone who has twitter, get tweeting the link to ex-WCW talent and staff, current talents who grew up watching, etc, we still need to get as many eyes on this as possible, and any retweets from industry people would reach lots of relevant followers. Shouldn’t this thing being known about in the hardcore collector scene be enough? like the major pod has a big enough audience of figure collectors for this to have hit 11k. Not many people who aren’t already buying figures are going to drop $400/$630 on a giant figure playset just because they saw it on Twitter or NXT All the time you’ve spent on here crying about it you probably coulda picked up a second job to help out. Just sayin.

I still can’t shake the fact that the biggest issue with the arena is the talent selected. I jumped at new gen for Doink. This is a unique approach with regards to it being a crowdfunding, this I feel it should warrant unique more obscure talent. If it does not get back I think that the talent would have been it’s downfall. The stage is not the issue. I watched an interview with Steve in which it was highlighted that he was unsure how they landed on the talent selected, but others were discussed. I would be interested to know who else was on the table. I also would question who was saved for MNW line who could have fit into this and seen it backed long ago. Maybe the YETAY!

IDK. More depth than you may realize. WCW: Flair, Arn, Luger, Surfer Sting, Crow Sting, Macho, Team Madness Macho, Anvil, Bret, Goldberg, Regal, Eddie, Rey, Harlem Heat, Booker (TV champ), Shark, Kamala, DDP, Zbyszko, Giant, Malenko, Zodiac, Pillman, Nasty Boys, Bam Bam, Duggan, Sid, Warrior, Road Warriors nWo: Hogan, Hall, Nash, Syxx, Giant, Hennig, Luger, Sting, Macho, Rude I totally get your point and it's fair, but for me there are just not enough of the mid/lower tier guys from that 96/98 heyday who helped make WCW stand out as its own thing. Of course people such as the Nasty Boyz/Duggan/LOD/Neidhart/Kamala wrestled under the WCW banner, but I'm talking about people who more so resonate with the WCW brand like Raven/Juventud Guerrera/Psychosis/Disco Inferno/Buff Bagwell/Glacier/Mortis/Saturn/Chavo/Ultimo Dragon/Kidman/Scott Norton/La Parka/Fit Finlay/Alex Wright. Not huge names, but ones that undisputably resonate with the WCW brand. Of course, the fact that a lot of even bigger names are no longer available to Mattel adds an extra challenge for newer collectors looking to put together their own WCW display. This is a solid point and might be a substantial reason for mattel to sweeten the deal by lowering the price (which they probably won’t do) or at least offering all the figures. A lot of those wcw guys are still around on the after market, but if you wanna fill out rosters mattel is gonna have to go deep dives. And who knows what license they have or can acquire. I was thinking the other day a sugar Shane helms figure would be cool since he has a legends contract. As it stands I’ve been in acquisition mode trying to round up all the nitro era figures I can lol.

I keep seeing people say "people actively rooting for this to fail". Genuine question; who is doing that? I know there are people who said they can't/are not backing it for whatever reasons, but I haven't seen anyone saying "HAHA I can't wait for this thing to not get funded!" or anything along those lines. Facebook groups is where I see it a lot. Misery loves company
