False. All of it. Mattel may have mishandled the introduction and presentation initially but it’s something a lot of people wanted. People didn’t want a ring. But a Nitro or Raw stage with Ultimates was more welcome than anything else. People aren’t paying $400+ for a nitro stage with a Rey and Hulk fig that’s basically already been released, they didn’t sweeten the deal with the initial figs and it’s died. However people would pay less for just the Nitro stage 2017 people so far disagree

I think crowdfunds are set up to give some wiggle room. It’s a direct data feedback to the company and creates interest in the fan base. Look no further than the next gen or even yesterday with the stage. If you can’t get hyped about the potentials available and the ability to actually interact with the creators to help bring a project to life then I don’t know what else to tell ya. Maybe make mud pies or something lol.

I guess you're speaking on behalf of US collectors? I guess you haven't read the posts earlier in this thread discussing why collectors outside of the US are paying almost double what you are. I don't want to put a number on it, but there are likely many collectors worldwide who would absolutely love to support this but can't/won't because of the added costs we're being forced to pay that US collectors aren't on the hook for. As I mentioned a few pages back, I'm almost certain that I never had to pay duties, customs fees or any import taxes for the New Gen arena. I only had to pay dollar conversion from USD to CAD, and then the flat rate shipping cost. Now, all of these duties, customs and import fees have been tacked into the sticker price, driving up the cost an additional $150~ for Canadians. UK collectors and people from other places in the world have it just as bad, although I don't know the numbers for them off the top of my head. He was clearly stating that $400 itself is reasonable. And the bigger issue is wondering why people WANT this to fail. The conversion is obviously a problem for non US customers, but do you still WANT it to fail? I would hope not. Also, I know the conversion problem is a big deal, but I think it is really sad that there aren't even enough fans in the US to support and back this. How is there not a minimum of 5,000 US fans willing to buy this?! I think that says a lot about the wrestling figure community and how much they are willing to spend. I can't even imagine what future projects would be backed, if we are even lucky enough to get future crowdfunds. The Raw stage is even bigger so it'll cost more, the Hell in the Cell would be tremendous and so many people are complaining about space, and vehicles might be a stretch especially after seeing how poorly received the Ghost Rider Haslab was. I think it could be that people are waiting to see if it funds or how close it gets. 400 is a lot to throw away for a month. I’d assume this is probably giving people time to accrue funds. Like take back all the dumb stuff you bought at target last month( speaking for a friend ). Again, if you look at next gen crowd fund, a lot came out to push that but it required some maneuvering from mattel. I think some changes are coming. This is a once in a lifetime set that’s not easily or cheaply replicated.

It's continuing to lose backers. It went up to 2010 and is now back down to 2008. So someone is backing then backing out every day? Lol. I’m not gonna panic.

Would be awesome for this stage to have the exact comeback story the the New Gen arena had. I still remember checking everyday on that crowd funder and seeing it moving up very fast towards the end was something very amazing on that day. Nothing like that has happened since hopefully this stage gets to repeat that history! I just read through some of that thread. That was crazy. Similar complaints and fears as this one, but I think the nitro stage is a much better value and has started out better. I think this one is gonna end strong.

There’s over 3 weeks left. Anything can happen on Mattel’s end and there’s probably quite a few people waiting till the last minute to see what happens. Believe this was talked about in a recent video with Ryan ting about the cat and mouse between the two parties. I’m certainly not gonna revel in the demise over a few backers dropping out lol. Hundreds towards the end of the crowd fund, yea, panic mode. But now, we’ve got 25 days to hold onto.

Fascinated by how a Marvel Galactus figure could sell for $400.00 - on a figure made twice prior. One was already pretty large - which is why I did not support the new larger one. And a much larger set - WCW - never offered before - with 5 figures (including a Scott Steiner 1st in the line figure) couldn't hit $5,000. Oh well, I did my part. Hope others do. Grateful to Mattel for their creativity and opportunity. I'd bet a Coke that there's a bigger collector demographic for Marvel Legends than there is for WWE, and that there's more curb appeal for a massive representation of one the MU's established big baddies than there is for a five year period in wrestling that happened over 20 years ago. It's just a guess on my part, but I think there's mainstream evidence to support it. Which is why mattel shoulda never started with two figures that are already flooding the market. This is a niche item. Most people already have Rey and hogan that are collecting wcw. Put that tooling cost into a figure we don’t have first. You’re also then pulling in the people that want just the figure to resell.

It is what it is is me not getting bent out of shape if this ultimately doesn’t fund. Gotta keep a level head here. I’ve passed on all international comments to the MC team. It’s a bit out of my hands other than following up with the regularly and advising. Hogan added back…yes, it’s better than no Hogan but is that the best solution? I’m just not sure. Adding Hogan in might not "move the needle" but it makes the price tag a lot easier to swallow knowing you're getting at least 2 figures....especially since it was already budgeted into the 5k cost. This:)

Mattel could have really made this an event like every Monday until the end of the crowd fund reveal what the next tier would be or something g like that. Whoever is marketing this has no idea how to build hype. It’s like here it is…buy it.

This is a lazy effort by Mattel. Hasbros crowd fund they’ve offered exclusive figures that aren’t currently in anyone’s collection. If you’re just gonna give us the same figures just do repaints to cut the cost. Or since Rey and hogan sell so well allegedly, put them towards the end. You can’t really compare Hasbro Marvel line to Mattel’s WWE. Hasbro probably has access to the whole Marvel library of characters. Mattel only has wrestlers that the WWE OK for them to release who have legends or merchandise deals. Steiner is a figure that is a new name to the Mattel line, but besides his brother what WCW wrestler do they have under contract to make that hasn’t had figures already? They are at the mercy of who the WWE has signed and wants them to make. It’s not like Mattel can just put Raven, Buff Bagwell, Disco Inferno or any other WCW wrestler who was in WCW at the time. That’s understandable. But, There’s no reason for them not to include repaints of elites to cut the cost…xpac…torrie Wilson, hogan… Booker t….warrior... Simple repaints of existing mold that would not require retooling. You want to add ultimate Steiner..make him tier 9000. Ddp…tier 11,000, etc. you package this with two repaints and stretch goals to get first time in the line figs, and this will fund in days. Mattel shoots themselves in the foot by giving us retooled ultimates of we already have multiples of then making a big deal out of stupid soft goods that most people are gonna just remove anyway. The logic is dumbfounding.
