Just shipped my pile of loot from Big Bad. Chun Li is in there, looking forward to getting her in hand!
Still haven't opened Evil Ryu, but I got to inspect it up close in package and it looks great.

Anyone grab the Masque of the Red Death? It's the new Figure Obscura that went up this morning. There's another chance to get it tonight, not sure the exact time though. Looks great IMO.

That looks amazing. I love the presentation, gonna be tough to remove from the box haha.
I saw Jada post that Ken will be up for preorder from Big Bad and Entertainment Earth this coming week.

Got a shipping confirmation email for Evil Ryu. I got a mystery text from FedEx and checked the app, the only thing currently pending is from Jada so mine should be arriving soon enough. Now to wait for the Chun Li preorder to arrive at Big Bad. I’ve been loving these figures.

I bought a SOTA Street Fighter Sakura figure many years ago and it broke when I just tried to do a swap with the alternate head. That might have been the first toyline I saw with swappable heads and hands but the quality was so poor and they were expensive. They looked incredible in the box but the price and their reputation as far as quality kept me away. I'm hoping now we're finally getting what we want, and the first two figures have me hopeful. Yeah SOTA started strong but certain waves had awful plastic quality, I know Zangief and Dhalsim were notorious for being brittle and breaking. Out of all my SOTA stuff, I liked Sagat, Vega, Ken, and Blanka. I think Ken is the only one I have left.

On one hand, I get that the cost of the sewer is enough to keep people away. I don’t need it myself, the cost and space is an issue for me. My guess as for the price is that it’s a licensing thing, in addition to being so specialized and specific. The fees they’d need to pay to license it (compared to a nondescript “city building”) are probably pretty steep.
That, coupled with the tooling - this is definitely a one and done, you couldn’t re-use this because it’s so unmistakably the TMNT Toon Lair. With the city, they can keep that cost lower because they can literally release it annually, maybe with a different color scheme, and just make money every single time. Even people who don’t care about TMNT at all could find a lot of use from the city street diorama.
I did see Ramen Toys is doing a third party sewer that has some modular parts, costing roughly $180 if I’m not mistaken. Might be a good option for anyone who doesn’t wanna spend $300 or make/buy a custom diorama.

It’s been so long since I used these boards, close to two decades. What’s the protocol for image posting, html or [image]? I unearthed some of my old tmnt collection and have been working thru it. Figured it might be appreciated here of all places I'm not 100% sure - I believe most people use an image hosting site to upload their images, then use the "insert image" button when you create posts to share them. I could be wrong though!

Probably the most exciting reveals for me at SDCC. The Jada SF figs were the only reveals that felt like old school reveals (that is, wasn't expecting anything, then was blown away). I don't have a single figure in my possession yet, but I'm all-in on this line. It's looking great with getting nine SSFII characters already (plus Evil Ryu). You're gonna like them! I have Chun Li preordered through Big Bad, and I'll be on the lookout for preorder info on the next few waves. I've been seeing some interviews with Juhn from Jada and he says their goal is to make the original fighters from SFII, which is awesome since they're basically halfway there with what they showed at the con. I'd imagine that bigger characters like E. Honda and Zangief might get the deluxe treatment, similar to Evil Ryu.

I’m tempted by Casey Jones. I know the turtles looked great at SDCC, but I’m trying to see how deep into a line I need to get.

Cammy, Dee Jay, and Guile all look great. I’m hoping we see a neutral face on Cammy, but I’m hearing she’ll have the expression we saw on the figure plus an additional screaming head. Still, this series is great so far.

Giant Krang and suited Casey Jones has me excited Suited Casey is not what I expected to see but I absolutely need it haha. Mirage Baxter looks great too. Looks like each turtle will get an Ultimate release too. Good way to get them back out for new collectors, although I’m positive that people are gonna moan about it.

Recently got the Mirage four-pack, Splinter, Battle Damage Shredder, Ultimate Foot Ninja, and the new Toon April. The Mirage turtles are SO nice. They're considerably larger than the original Mirage set, but the style is so cool and straight off the page of those later comics. Splinter is tiny, but he's a nice figure. The included Mouser is really nice, too. Shredder wasn't one I expected to like as much as I do. I missed out on the old SDCC Shredder/Foot set, and never got the recolored Shredder from a little while back, so this is my first Mirage Shredder in color. The figure is nice though, I heated and popped the head off the neck on the helmeted head so that I could display it just as a helmet rather than having the neck sticking out. The Ultimate Foot Ninja is a relatively plain looking figure, but the amount of accessories is INSANE. I'm gonna try and grab at least one more. April is great. Such an improvement over the first version. Most of her accessories are the same as the old version, which is fine since so many people missed that one. I might try to put one of the new heads on the older body, not sure if it'll work but it's worth a shot. Either way, I think the old figure is gonna end up as permanent driver when the van finally hits. Lastly, I saw four sets of Casey Jones/Foot Soldier in Target about a week ago, so anyone who missed that set a couple years back will hopefully be able to snag one now for retail price. Lucky you got april. I've already had to approve 3 delays so I'm figuring it will eventually be canceled. If it officially goes up Friday I'll order another as a back up unless it sells out in 3 seconds like the baby turtles accessory set lol I’m hoping April is one of those that gets decent distribution, like MuckMan, Metalhead, etc. If so, she’ll probably show up sporadically for a while. Either way, hope your back order gets filled.

A lot of people have said the same thing about Jada, after seeing how good the SF stuff is a classic MK line would be great. Fei Long would be easy re-use for Liu Kang, and knowing how well Fei Long moves it'd be an easy way to see how nice an MK line could be. Good point about reusing molds/parts. That makes it even more appealing for Jada. Classic MK in this style would be another dream line for me. I'm not sure where the MK license is, but some companies are realizing going after people like us that grew up with the old school stuff are worth targeting, so I hope someone is aware. Get out the classic stuff first, and then we'll buy in when they go with MK11 or MK1. Also, since my last post I was able to order Ryu from Amazon for 25 and he's shipping next month. I hate to wait that long, but I think it will be worth it, especially if they get all the Super SFII characters eventually 🤞 I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Ryu is great.

I preordered the All-Star 6 wave. Looks incredible. I've also got Aracagorr preordered from Big Bad, I'll probably bite the bullet and get Poxxus and his horse as well.

Has anyone successfully received a napoleon colossus from target? I ordered one the first day they went up, label created 6-27 supposed to arrive 6-29 and i haven't received it so i called and they sent a replacement to arrive this Wednesday the 12th, label created on the 7th which is same day i spoke with them but I'm concerned because it's supposed to arrive in 2 days but tracking shows no movement same as the first one. I think this is supposed to be part of the target summer geek out but went up early so maybe they don't actually have the product yet even though online says they do? I guess if it doesn't come by Wednesday I'll call for a refund and a gift card for my troubles. Just wondering if anybody else is having the same issue? I didn't order him, but I've had a similar issue with the Mirage set. Certain figures I ordered got back-ordered while others didn't. Not sure when they'll end up shipping, but I've seen the Colossus Frog in store so hopefully online orders should be going out soon.

So many similarities between SF and MK right down to their fig licenses and what happens with them. Both got decent collections with Hasbro (though not fully accurate). SF had a good run with Sota that Storm is now rivaling. Otherwise (just off the top of my head), it's been a few limited runs that end up inconsistent. It's like Ryu and Ken are guaranteed for SF, and Sub-Zero and Scorpion are guaranteed for MK. I'd take Jada MK figs, too, for the record. I'm still waiting to find the SF Jada figs somehow for non-scalper prices, but I'm excited about them. If I could get similar classic MK figs, I'd be so pumped. A lot of people have said the same thing about Jada, after seeing how good the SF stuff is a classic MK line would be great. Fei Long would be easy re-use for Liu Kang, and knowing how well Fei Long moves it'd be an easy way to see how nice an MK line could be.

Buddy found me the new April. MUCH better than the older figure. Glad I waited. Nice! Mine’s supposedly on the way from Target in the next couple days. Looking forward to the upgrade, probably gonna try and put one of the extra heads on the old figure.
