Hi there!
Can anyone tell me why CS1 Bret Hart ain't pictured on the back of all the other five figure boxes from CS1? And in addition to that, why is Bret pictured with black sunglasses on, when they aren't even in the box?
Thanks!

That's what I've read/heard too. That Bret was a last minute signing/addition.

The glasses probably didn't cost out. JAKKS has to keep every figure and set down to a certain production cost to make budget and to eventually make profit (the reason that they are in business). Although the figure prototype, which was probably done way before the final budget constraints were set, included glasses, in the end they probably just didn't make budget. Remember, it cost JAKKS a good chunk of money to get CS1 off the ground...they had to sign Bret and Warrior (maybe Andre's estate as well) to new contracts. Plus new packaging costs. And don't forget that there were soft goods in CS1 that we rarely saw from JAKKS in the past (Helmsley's jacket and Warrior's various things). That stuff drives cost up... In the grand scheme of things, Bret Harts black glasses didnt make budget...I am sure that they would have loved to include them in their debut set of Classic Superstars. It wasn't just a ploy to "cheap out." Plus, the fact that we GOT a RA-style Bret Hart after the WWF/Hart BS is amazing in itself...

You obviously didn't read a word of what I wrote if you think I was saying that Jakks cheapd out...in my opinion, it was quite opposite. But I see that this is not a discussion worth continuing...

I'll remember that next time Jakks doesn't included a trade mark accessory or detail on a figure when im fixing them up.

You are basically saying the same thing, "cheaping out" and "coming in under budget" amount to the same thing. It's not like Jakks are trying desperately to break even, they are deciding how much profit they want to make per figure, that's why they remove as much as they can from each figure before releasing it. The thousands of pairs of little sunglasses they would've needed to make wouldn't really have cost very much at all compared to the accessories that most other brands action figures come with so I think "cheaped out" is a fair description really IMO.
