because UFC does not need women fighters to draw in money. Elite XC has nothing special about the divisions of fighters other than they have women fighters. UFC may some day get women fighters but not for a while IMO.

Dana White said a couple years ago that he personally didn't enjoy watching women's MMA so he had no plans to add it to the UFC. This was before EliteXC held their first show, so it wasn't just Dana bashing them. He just basically said he respected the women in MMA as fighters but it wasn't his cup of tea, so he wasn't interested in adding women.

He just basically said he respected the women in MMA as fighters but it wasn't his cup of tea, so he wasn't interested in adding women. Coming from a guy that is lightning-quick in calling almost anything non-UFC subpar, that's pretty nice of him. Personally, I didn't think it was my cup of tea either, but then I saw EXC's fights and it turned me into a fan. Not just because of Carano's hotness (which, be honest, she's pretty damn hot), but more along the fact that the women in MMA really kick a lot of ass. Weight issues aside, Gina's becoming more well-rounded every day and her latest fight, even if her opponent made her work every inch for that unanimous decision, showed off that she's rightfully the face of women's MMA. Then there's Cyborg, who's just a complete ing monster. Not a pretty bone in her body, but those fists mess her opponents up bad. Overall, women's MMA is, right now as I see it, a unique gimmick bordering on unanimous approval. I see people going into it as thinking "women's MMA" will be hot girls rolling around with each other, but then seeing that people like Carano and Cyborg fight and developing a newfound respect for the women in MMA. Once enough people get tuned into how women in MMA aren't cute girls that like to roll around with each other, I can see UFC opening up a women's division. Knowing UFC, however, they'll probably just snatch all of EXC's women if/when EXC goes under.

Although I appreciate their skills & training I personally hate women fight. Never liked watching women box & same applies to mMA, generally fastforward the matches. Just never felt comfortable watching it for some reason so hope it stays within the Exc
