I'm a psychology major and I find all of this stuff fascinating. If you have an open elective I suggest taking a simple psych 101 class. Same goes for those in high school. Take a basic psych course.

I totally have OCD, or I'm just a germaphob, I can't drink from cups or use spoons/forks that other people have used, sometimes I just have to suck it up though.

I use to be a clean freak a couple years ago, I'm probably the one that actually cleans the house . I used to get really pissed off if I didn't get a chance to clean around the house, now I don't really care as much. I also NEED to be organized, everything I have is organized. The desktop on this computer, my school supplies, room, etc. I don't like things on angles, I need them to be straight, sometimes I would spend minutes making sure my monitor was completely straight in front of me. I also hate using public bathrooms, I've never seen the inside of my highschool's bathrooms in the 4 1/2 years I've been there.

I have OCD but can't think of anything like that. Howwever before Benoit died I had hallucinations of him flexing on my poster of him. They stopped after he died. Well because I destroyed the poster. I have over a dozen posters and only that one did it. It was the one of him flexing his muscles that came with WWE Magazine.

My sister used to be really bad... She was a compulsive hand washer, to the point that she was rubbing off the top layer of skin.
she's not as bad now, though she still won't touch raw meat or things like that.

It's funny, I used to have OCD so bad I would wear the same shirt for days. Now I can't HANDLE being dirty. I used to not share the same drink or anything with anyone. Now germs in a sense like that doesn't bother me at all... I'll drink off of a straw with someone, eat off the same plate, etc. I hate wearing the same shirt, but I don't have to have specific brands anymore.
I have slight tendencies still... I think we all do though.
One of my completely uneducated theories is teenagers simply go through it. It's a phase for everyone. Then again, maybe when I started doing drugs I just got over it.

I was in a basic psych class my first go around at cc, but I dropped from the whole thing to get other things in order. If/when I ever get back into oakton it's something I enjoyed. Is there anything to OCD being age-related?

i know it doesnt make a difference but i still do it anyway. But you may as well do it if it means you will get/avoid/whatever. It's a small price to pay. That's what is in your brain at first, and the next thing it's taken over your life because you force yourself to do things just to be safe and try to put the worrying thoughts out of your head. When you get something wrong with you. Say cancer, you live or die. It may be one of the most painful things to go through but at the end you will stay alive or die. OCD once you've let it go too far will more than likely be with you for the rest of your life. Anyone who thinks you can just get over it and stop it has never experienced OCD.

Then again, maybe when I started doing drugs I just got over it. Well arent you awesome? Drugs are so cool! I'm not really OCD but a weird habit i have is that my T.V always has to be on an even number. For example it can't be 21 it has to be 22 or 24 or 26 etc etc

Every morning I have to do something in the exact same order. Wake up to my alarm, turn on snooze twice, wake up, go directly to have a shower, get out grab everything I want to wear, put it on in the same order (Boxers, jeans, belt, shirt, socks, hoodie), eat breakfest, brush my teeth, put on my cologne and leave. Everyday that order.

Is there anything to OCD being age-related? well, often OCD begins at a young age, but children often hide the symptoms from their parents. The parents may believe their child is simply going through a phase or something. Peak age of onset for males is 6-15 years old and for females between 20-29.
