TNA is missing out on a lot of things. Most prominently is the X Division. They have such a fantastic group of athletes.....they should feature them more often.
BUT......this post wasnt here to harp on TNA from several directions. Nor was it created to even talk about the X Division. What I think TNA is missing out on a man named Rellik aka Johnny Stamboli. I'm not gonna sit here and tout Stamboli as a fantastic worker or a great wrestler, per say. I think his in ring work is average, better than what we saw in WCW or the E. His work in Japan has drastically improved his abilities.
What Rellik brings is uniqueness and creativity. Some might say that he looks like Muta and that he is not original. But those who are familiar with the Muta/Stamboli feud would know why his mask looks like Muta's. The character however has many depths. Make him this ultra dark heel. Maybe a cross between Mankind and The Undertaker. Capitalize on the character. Stamboli isnt gonna go 60 minutes with Samoa Joe. But he can put on a 20 minute match and put some creativity in it. I say keep him with Black Reign. Let these 2 terrorize the TNA roster. Make Rellik a more aggressive character. Dont make him a lacky. Create a stable with Rellik, Black Reign, Messias and Mitchell and maybe even bring one more in. Something along the lines of someone who is kind dwindling on the TNA roster. Have him paired with Abyss, before having Rellik and Mitchell convert him to the dark side. Maybe someone like Lance Hoyt. Or you might be able to turn Abyss back to a monster heel. He was better as a heel anyway. There is just so much that could be done with this character/stable. I really think TNA is missing the boat with him.
