I seriously love this game...but my god, do they have to make it SO hard to win?
Dwight Howard went 19 for 23 against me, with at LEAST 10 dunks. A lot of which came by him making a quick first step move, which my guy would obviously always fall for, and then dunked.
LeBron James is currently 8 for 10 against me. Out of his 8 FG, 6 are dunks. A quick move, and he's taking off from virtually the foul line. You can't stop it.
Meanwhile, I'm missing baby hook shots, and wide open layups on the other end. I had the game tied, and then after 30 seconds, I'm down 7. I try to make a simple pass to the top of the key, and James morphs to the ball, steals it and dunks. It's ridiculous.
I hate how they make premiere players unstoppable. Even roleplayers are very, very good. My last game, the Orlando Magic went 7 for 8 from 3 point land as a team. Kinda unrealistic if you ask me.

I was real excited for this until it was canceled for PC. I might get it for 360 but right now LIVE 09 is looking more appealing.

I was real excited for this until it was canceled for PC. I might get it for 360 but right now LIVE 09 is looking more appealing. NBA Live = NBA Jam, but 5 on 5. All you have to do is spin, spin, spin, spin, juke, shoot and you'll score. There's no real strategy to it. I was really hoping it'd improve, since I generally like EA...but 2k's NBA games are amazing. Minus the fact that I can't stop James for the life of me. I can't even stand in front of him... |

Well that's the thing, I could care less about the depth of the game, it's really well done and it's good for casual players like me. I almost never play sports games.

I didn't like 2K8 all that much. I'll play the demo of 2K9. But in case I don't like 2K9, to keep me busy, I picked up 2K7 today for $5. In my opinion, 2K7 is the best basketball game to date. But I'm hoping that 2K9 is good because I'm done with NBA Live by now.

2K9 is pretty tight. It seems a lot harder than 2K8, but it's balanced out better and I don't blow out as many teams. The presentation is really nice as well

I enjoyed the Demo, the controls are great even though the graphics could be better.
However I rather have good controls than graphics so I'm prob gonna pick this up for PS3....

I think the Graphics are amazing. My GF knows very few basketball players, but when she walked in and saw a close up of Garnett as he was about to take his free throws, she said ..."Basketball is on already?!, the Celtics are playing now?" |

NBA 2K9 is a thousand times better than Live 09. I dont get why anyone would choose Live 09 over 2K9. 2K9 just has it all, good gameplay, great graphics and the blacktop mode puts NBA Street to shame.

For the older 2K games, when you did an exhibition, you could do scramble starters or fantasy starters. Does this game bring it back? I'm really hoping to hear a yes, but am assuming a no. If it's a no, then I'm on the fence about this game. I have 2K7 and still really enjoy it, but this demo seemed really well done.

I've never done an exhibition in this, just went right to Assoc. 4-2 with the Bulls though! (with a trade that got me Al Horford, and Roy Hibbert off the bench) |

I'm not a huge fan of 2K, just because I don't really know how to play the game of basketball too deep. So I kinda like being able to just spin around everyone in Live. lol
