haha.
it'll be cute to watch Cote try and go out and have a stand up war with Anderson Silva.
He better just be saying that for the pre-fight interviews and not actually do it because he will get his ass knocked out. I still can't believe Anderson Silva is retiring.
Something I don't understand is if Henderson and Bisping are going to be the coaches to see who faces Anderson Silva wouldn't that fight take place like a year from now? You figure the next TUF will take about 3-4 months from start to finish..then the Bisping vs. Henderson fight has to happen..The winner of that will take another 3-4 months to get ready for the Anderson Silva fight assuming he is champion that far down the road...

Or I can see him taking the match agins one of the teo for his last match..

Oh come on everyone realizes Cote barely has a chance in hell against Silva. Every department Silva has Cote beat. But with that said...that just makes me want Cote to win even more! I gotta go for the Canadian underdog...someone has to lol.

I don't get all the hate for Bisping here, yeah he was elusive but he still was aggressive as well, did you not see Leben's face afterwards. Bispings plan was to batter Chris & get a points win, seems a smart move to me especially as being overly aggressive at the end cost Terry martin his points win over Leben.
You're fighting a guy with a solid chin & impressive KO power in his hands, the obvious game plan is pepper him with shots using your speed & technique advantage & stay out of the way of his power shots.

is that leg kick even legal? it was awesome.
I was disappointed in Vera's loss..but it was between two fighters I like and I guess Jardine needed the win more.

I don't know about that, vera desperatly needed the win. Last four fights, 3 losses & 1 unimpressive win over a nobody is Vera's recent record, not looking good. I was hoping for the old aggressive Vera to blow through Jardine but several times he just wouldn't committ to letting the shots go.

I was kind of surprised too. I mean he did drop Jardine..but right after that Jardine dropped Vera...so maybe he felt a little intimidated by Jardines unusual punches being so damn powerful.
I say Jardine needed the win more because his last 2 losses came by knockout...whereas Veras recent fights include a decision loss..a controversial tko...and an unimpressive win, but a win nonetheless.
I think Vera is kind of in Rich Franklins boat..with nowhere to go really...maybe the UFC needs to add more weight classes? I don't know, I just hope Vera gets back on his winning streak..

I was more impressed with Chris Leben tonight, than I've been with anyone in a LONG time. He came in looking like he was in the best shape of his life & ready to fight. What did Leben do that impressed you so much? Sure he looked in good shape but most fighters are generally in great shape anyway, I'm not going to applaud Leben for getting to the standard that most MMA athletes are at. In the fight he never had Bisping in danger, not once, Bisping completely outclassed him and hat the perfect gameplan to fight someone like Leben. People are complaining that Bisping didn't go for the knockout but how many people have knocked Leben out apart from maybe the greatest MMA fighter ever Anderson Silva? Leben has got a excellent chin and bisping isn't blessed with exceptional power so why would he risk getting knocked out himself when he was completely dominating Leben with the gameplan they worked out?

Stand right in front of Leben and trade bombs? That would be the most stupid thing anybody could do against Leben.

Hence the victory in this match and his planned gameplan working. But he will not succeed in the division he is in. Not as long as Anderson Silva holds the belt..

I would love to see Bisping try to use that gameplan with Anderson Silva. Silva will knock his ass out.
I know...different gameplan for every individual fighter. But there seems to be a trend in Bispings fights. When the fighter is just too strong for Bisping he.....mmm I don't want to say run...avoids contact with the fighter. Instead of utilizing his strengths...which I'm not sure what they are...?
I mean he is great all around but he doesn't have knockout power but he has a pretty good standup game that will give him points...his jiu jitsu isn't top-notch but it is good enough to hang in there and make a fight interesting. His wrestling is weak as well as his takedown defense...so I see his fate being the same as Diego Sanchez...good everywhere, but not great at anything.
