While I will say that Anderson Silva is a VERY talented fighter, and is in the top 3 for best P4P fighter, I'd highly doubt Silva would beat Penn. Agreed. BJ Penn is the most skilled fighter in the world. I know this is going to go completely off-topic and probably generate some harsh responses, but... For all the technique and skill Penn has, and no doubt he's an absolute phenomenon in the cage, he seems to have that much of an ego as well. I love BJ Penn "the fighter" to death, but I've got no love for BJ Penn "the showman", which prevents me from really getting into his fights. For all the talent he has, and there's a damn lot of it, I just can't help but wish somebody would just slap some sense in to him. If he's changed his attitude recently (a bunch of other stuff has kinda-sorta limited my up-to-date MMA knowledge) I apologize and please disregard this post, but Penn's ego was/is one of the main reasons I just can't seem to get into him.

There is always gonna be the people who have egos. Always.. But BJ Penn is one of those guys can back up his ego so its not like he is full of himself and not being as great as he says he is..

Oh, no doubt Penn is every bit as good as he hypes himself up as.
That doesn't mean I have to like it when he's constantly hyping himself up, though.
It's not to the point where I think "Somebody needs to shut him up", it's more along the lines of "Damn dude, show a little self-modesty."

Its basically differet peoples opinions of fighters and their attitudes. I tend to like the cocky ones, idk its just me..

It's always very hard to bet against Penn. He wants to fight everyone, regardless of their size...but I just can't see Penn being able to beat Silva. I don't even see really how Penn could possibly beat him in any aspect. Silva might be worried about going to the ground with him, so he would just keep the fight standing. With his speed, accuracy (majorly), reach and his size, Penn would be in for a LONG night...or a short one.

I mean look at his Sean Sherk fight, ther majority of his punches connected, and Penn's cardio has highly improved.

Speed I think would be a toss up between the 2, and it seems Penn's cardio problems are a thing of the past (even if he hasnt gone past the 3rd round lately.) Penn is just too small to win any exchanges with Silva IMO. Silva has 1 punch KO ability going against 205'ers (Hendo and Irvin), going against a natural 155er he should be able to just walk through them. If they go to the ground, it might be different but I think Anderson could keep it standing.
Either way, I'd pay huge money to watch that fight.

That I will agree with you on bra, Silva would definately have a reach advantage with his feet and hands.

Penn could beat a lot of guys,... but Penn needs to look at the long term.
