Friday 10th October 2008
The World Wrestling Federation’s usual signature opening video is shown, stating the fact that the WWF has been the world-wide leader in sports entertainment for over fifty years, and that over half-a-billion viewers watch it every single week.
Following this, a video package airs, reviewing last Friday's SmackDown, which was the debut of SmackDown on the NBC network. It highlights the full show from top to bottom, starting off with Matt Sydal challenging X-Pac for his newly won WWF Cruiserweight Championship, in which X-Pac won barely with assistance from a chain, then being confronted by Rey Mysterio [on top of the stage]. It moves on to show Candice Michelle get involved in a short yet heated confrontation with new woman on the block, Maria Kanellis. From there we see WWF United States Heavyweight Champion, Dean Malenko issue an open challenge only to be answered by Christian Cage from RAW, Cage winning in a difficult battle. It then shows highlights of John Bradshaw Layfield's battle with John Cena in which the New World Order member, JBL won by count-out, following interference from Batista [who is not on neither SmackDown, nor nWo's alliance]. We move on to see the WWF Tag Team Champions, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash team with Randy Orton of nWo to take on AJ Styles and London & Kendrick in six-man tag team action. Orton sneaked the victory with a RKO connected to London. Then, it was a tough decision for the American Badass, the Undertaker as he took on British Bulldog. The winner was to face Bret Hart for the WWF Championship at No Mercy with the loser to face Hollywood Hogan at No Mercy. Taker wanted Hogan desperately, as he wanted the WWF title also. After an intense battle, Taker and Bulldog saw through Hart and Hogan's plans as they both sided with a wrestler, acting like enemies. Bulldog shoved Hart off the apron as Taker did Hogan and Bulldog then nailed the Running Powerslam out of nowhere for the winner. Post match, the two embraced in handshake, defying the nWo main eventers.
The heavy-metal guitar introduction to “Re-Education” by Rise Against sounds, showing us several shots of various SmackDown and nWo competitors, such as Kevin Nash hitting the Jackknife on AJ Styles; Rey Mysterio hitting the 619 plus various others. "Rise Against" continues to sing through the lyrics for the song, and the entrance video package lasts around fifty seconds, viewing many SmackDown undercard wrestlers hitting their patented moves on their opponents in front of a blue and white background. The video ends with Undertaker hitting the Last Ride on Bret Hart, falling to the bottom of the screen as the SmackDown logo appears above, with a deep blue and white shade in the background.
From that point, the instrumental theme for SmackDown plays, it being the instrumental version of "Re-Education". It plays loudly as the hard camera zooms out from the logo, showing it to of been the graphic on the TitanTron. The camera looks at the stage, which is a square 'WWF' logo with two mesh-cage walls on either side, tilted. This set is placed beneath a square frame and is surrounded by two long metallic lighting rigs. We look up at the lighting rig far above the ring, where a blue rocket is waiting to be launched. It falls diagonally from the lighting rig and smashes itself downwards right into the rampway, where white sparks is alright lighting up the scene. The smoke rises up into the atmosphere as we take another look at the SmackDown graphic up on the TitanTron and the camera ‘twirls’ around using some special effects. The camera then looks at countless fans holding up signs in the arena.
A graphic appears in the top-left corner of the screen showing us that this edition of SmackDown is also being shown in High-Definition television and is presented in Spanish tonight. It also tells us that this show is being broadcast live from the Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, New York. A voice-over is heard from the Play-by-Play announcer, Jim Ross who hypes the event.
[JR]- Folks, welcome to this edition of SmackDown, here in the second week of the NBC era! The Memorial Auditorium is jammed in to the rafters with energetic fans wanting to see SmackDown live! I'm good ol' JR, Jim Ross alongside Jeremy Borash for this jam-packed edition of SmackDown on NBC!
[JB]- Oh yes, JR. Hello folks, this is my first time behind the actual commentating headset in a long time, as in the past I have only really been featured over in Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling as the ring announcer as well as the ring announcer over here, so this should be quite the experience.
[JR]- Good luck, Jeremy, welcome you aboard. Folks, tonight is a night unlike any other as tonight in the headlining match of the evening, it will be the official contract signing for Hollywood Hogan vs. The Undertaker, a match that has been almost eighteen years in the making, their last match being in November 1990!
[JB]- Oh yes, but I've heard from a little birdie that Eric Bischoff, the President of the new nWo has decided to place the odds against the British Bulldog, who in two weeks time will have to take on Bret Hart for his WWF Championship.
[JR]- Talk about a conspiracy, Eric Bischoff has planned a handicap match tonight with two of the top dogs in the New World Order.
[JB]- Yeah, Bulldog will have to take on not one but two WWF Tag Team Champions, Scott Hall and 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash!
[JR]- And in addition, British Bulldog's WWF Euro Championship has been vacated due to his gain of contention to the WWF Championship!
[JB]- Yeah, it will now be "The Phenomenal One" AJ Styles taking on the "Animal" Batista. And I believe that John Cena will be watching this.
[JR]- I wanna know who Batista is involved with. We know he hates John Cena of the SmackDown brand but is he really spiteful of Cena that he wants to join a faction that cost him his first and only WWF Championship reign?
The old WCW theme of Rey Mysterio Jr plays loudly into the arena, immediately causing the audience to explode in applause, as the small luchadore begins to march down the rampway en route to the ring. Mysterio climbs inside of the ring, awaiting his opponent, the WWF Cruiserweight Champion, X-Pac but decides to grab a hold of a microphone. Mysterio looks around at the audience, everybody cheering him on as Mysterio repeatedly attempts to speak only for his voice to be drowned out by the loud audience chanting his name repeatedly in unison, echoed around the arena.
[Mysterio]- Thank you for all of your recent support, WWF fans! The crowd cheers louder as Mysterio nods his head. I want to say that I love every single one of you equally, and I will always, I would also like to thank the World Wrestling Federation for this opportunity, they believed in me while I was trapped in the land of big people. But I showed them all, I proved them all wrong with my catchphrase 'size does not matter'. The crowd cheer once again as the fans also chant 'Rey' repeatedly. I am after all a little guy with obviously the most largest and emotional personality in the world of wrestling as a whole too! And I thank all of you. But recently, I've been showing more of a concern to people of more of my size and weight. I've held the Cruiserweight Championship and feuded with one of the most talented light-heavyweights in the WWF and TNA today, AJ Styles, and on the grandest stage of them all, too! I lost my title to my best friend, Matt Sydal in June and gone on to win the WWF US Heavyweight Championship. I must of had three match of the year candidates slammed into ten months, and I really do it for every single person out there. I was big time in Mexico this time, fifteen years ago. But then I got recognised in the United States and it was amazing. At SummerSlam I put on an amazing encounter with Dean Malenko, as I did in a rematch at Fall Brawl, a mere three weeks ago. But something else happened at Fall Brawl that sickened me to a standstill point. X-Pac won the Cruiserweight Championship.
The crowd begin to boo X-Pac as Mysterio shakes his head. X-Pac is the cancer. He was once upon a time a man who respected me and I respected back. But when he traded his red and yellow and black colors in for black and white, he sold his soul to the devils, Hollywood Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Bret Hart. All of which I have lost respect for when I had respect for them a while ago. X-Pac's blatant cheating and repetetive sneaky tactics annoys me to a turning point. And that turning point is where I must cross the nWo line, cross the borders and step into nWo territory. I must avenge Matt Sydal's loss of the Cruiserweight Championship and bring the title home to a traditional point. So I asked myself for this match with X-Pac for tonight in non-title action. Undertaker's 50 percent power over the WWF helped me get it. And so, here I am, ready X-Pac. Ready for action. Take me out, brah.
We hear the introduction of "What You Lookin' At" by Uncle Cracker play before it gets taken over by the sound of static. Static appears on the titantron, then showing a tanned man with shades on, his black hair placed in plats and wearing a red suit, covering his arms and torso, stopping at his thighs. The song 'Stay Fly' by Three Six Mafia plays into the arena as the crowd look confused, many booing. The man himself appears on the stage, microphone in hand. The man removes his shades and calmfully walks down the entrance ramp and climbs into the ring, using the ring steps.
[]- My name is Montel Vontanious Porter, also known as MVP. I am well known by my friends and family. I've gone through a hard childhood, sure. But I haven't had the time to think about the negatives. I've always thought about the future. And the future is me! The audience begins booing, immediately identifying him as the rule-breaker. I don't like to sound obnoxious or arrogant, but I have been the top man in the independent circuit for quite some time. Technical wrestling will dominate all, my time is here. I am the biggest free-agent since Randy Savage was back in the 1980s. I am not New World Order. I am not SmackDown. I am WWF, World Wrestling Federation is my target, not SmackDown or nWo. And, Rey Mysterio Jr? You're target number one!
Montel Vontanious Porter kicks Mysterio in the gut with that last sentence and knocks Mysterio to the canvas using the microphone. MVP kicks Mysterio in the shoulder and the arm before heading to whip Mysterio out of the ring, but Rey twists it around and sends MVP flying to the outside! Mysterio runs towards the ropes and hits a fluke 619, shocking MVP and sending him to the floor outside!

Montel Vontanious Porter vs. Rey Mysterio
This match started off prior to the commercial break following the show-opening segment, featuring Mysterio on the inside of the ring and MVP down on the outside of the ring. However, when we returned from the commercial break, Montel Vontanious Porter had gained offense in and had already grounded Mysterio and tamed him with the headlock, Mysterio in a seated position. The crowd were screaming and chanting loudly for Rey Mysterio, mainly the children in attendence. Mysterio managed to remain conscious before the count of three and got to his feet, giving MVP countless axe handles to the gut. Mysterio tried running towards the ropes, but Montel grabbed a hold of his mask and Rey got slammed onto the canvas. MVP began to wear Mysterio’s body down, targeting the ankles to avoid any attempts made at a signature move. Mysterio eventually reversed a maple-leaf crab into a roll up for a near fall. Mysterio got to his feet and began pounding at Porter. Mysterio hit some high-flying aerial attacks, like a hurricanrana and a head-scissors, but nothing could get Porter down and keep him there. Mysterio eventually nailed the 619 to the gut, but MVP grabbed him in time and attempted a tilt-a-whirl slam, but Mysterio hit a leg-scissors again, which propelled MVP into the ropes. Mysterio hit the 619 and got set for the West Coast Pop as MVP got back up, but Porter ducked and Mysterio missed, MVP hit the Tiger Suplex [Full Nelson-German Suplex] and got the win in his debut!
Winner: Montel Vontanious Porter [15:34]
The instrumental theme for Three Six Mafia’s ‘Stay Fly’ theme plays again into the arena as the newest addition to SmackDown, Montel Vontanious Porter fell to the canvas, having just won with the Tiger Suplex. MVP crawls to the corner and gets to his feet, celebrating as though it was 1999. He hugs the referee and begins running around the ring in a circle, jumping to his knees and raising both fisted hands into the air. After a minute, Montel Vontanious Porter rolls out of the ring as Mysterio begins to gain consciousness and get to his feet. MVP backs up the ramp way, laughing maniacally before double-high fiving the WWF Cruiserweight Champion, X-Pac as he appears on the stage.
Backstage Segment
We cut to the backstage area where Super Crazy and Psicosis are both seen together in the catering room, standing by a vending machine. It is notable to note that Psicosis is smiling during this entire segment. In the background, we can see several road agents wandering around and talking to one-another as the two Mexican Assassins are already in deep discussion.
[Psicosis]- What’s your problem with Christy, ese? She’s just my girlfriend. You should know that no girlfriend can get between the Mexican Assassins, homey. The Assassins rule the tag team lucha-libre division on SmackDown. Know it, it’s legit.
[Super Crazy]- I don’t believe you, homes. I’ve been super for life, I’ve been crazy for life. Ever since I was a little Latino leprechaun from my mother’s womb, I’ve been crazy. I started jumping off of the dressing table in the bambino toilets, growing up to jumping from balconies, ese. You know what I’m sayin’? You ain’t been cool with me lately, Christy got in the way, man. Know that, that is legit, not your statement, man.
[Psicosis]- Super Assassin amigo, you should know that I’ve had my hands full lately, but next week, we’ve got a tag team qualifying match to enter the WWF Tag Team Championship four-team match at No Mercy. When we win that match, and win the Tag Team titles at No Mercy, then homes. Then we will party like it’s nearing the end of the 20th Century.
We then see Christy Hemme wanders onto the screen, dressed in jeans and a black bra, tapping Psicosis on the shoulder from behind. He reacts, turning around and immediately smiling as he almost hits Hemme’s chest.
[Hemme]- Psicosis, my Latino lover. Do you know what I should wear? I haven’t seen my top since that… Hemme mouths something out to Psicosis, though we can still hear her speaking. That fun time in the closet, earlier.
[Psicosis]- Hehe, that was a fun time huh, gimme a minute, cutie. I need to go through something with ese, here.
[Super Crazy]- Argh!
Super Crazy walks away from the screen, kicking the vending machine comically before storming away from camera-view. Psicosis just shrugs and turns around to Christy Hemme. She giggles briefly, laughing and cupping her own breasts.
[Hemme]- Hehe, was it something I said?
Psicosis mouths something to Hemme before wrapping his arm around her and walking off screen.
Match #2
Time Limit: 30 Minutes
Winner goes to face Dean Malenko for the US Heavyweight Championship
Matt Sydal vs. Psicosis
Matt Sydal walked down the ramp way first to a rowdy applause, he must be one of the most popular cruiserweights on SmackDown right now. Psicosis then followed to a techno remixed version of “Spanish Fly”, accompanied by Christy Hemme. Super Crazy was also seen walking down the ramp way slowly, a look of disgust on his face. The two started off with a lock-up, both men beginning to trade fast-paced attacks. Sydal breaks up the lock-up with a kick to the gut, followed by a succession of kicks to the thighs of the Mexican Assassin. Sydal ran off of the ropes and leapfrogged over Psicosis, only to get nailed with a quick German suplex out of nowhere. Psicosis continued to take advantage of the ‘Hightlight Reel’ with countless lefts and rights, using a hard-hitting slow-paced style at the same time as using an aerial attack, lodged in with the beat down. Psicosis also applied some technical-based armlocks and armbars, trying to make Sydal tap, but he just wouldn’t give up. Sydal eventually found the strength and intelligence to catch Psicosis, by turning a springboard moonsault into a fall away slam-style move. Sydal utilized several of his old favourite moves, including the Here We Go Driver once, as well as a running corkscrew kick to the head. Sydal also managed to connect with the Aftershock, but unfortunately, his stamina had expired and had to regain his breath, only getting two when covering Psicosis. Psicosis eventually got whipped to the outside near Super Crazy and Sydal dove over the top rope with a springboard Shooting Sydal Press, but only nailed Crazy. This got Super Crazy psyched up as he stormed off again to the backstage area. Psicosis tried to convince him to stay, but Sydal only dragged him into the ring. There, Sydal hit his ‘Instant Replay Recliner’ manoeuvre, before hitting the 630 Splash for the final countdown. [~!]
Winner: Matt Sydal [11:21]
Following the contest, Matt Sydal begins to celebrate, returning to his feet to receive a minor head-rush, before beginning to celebrate as the official rose his hand into the air. In the background, behind Sydal and the official, kneels Christy Hemme as she attends to Psicosis, still a smile on his face. This confused the announcers as Sydal began to roll out of the ring. He walked slowly up the ramp and onto the stage before being jumped by the ‘Man of 1,000 Holds’, Dean Malenko. The crowd boo as Malenko nails Sydal in the back of the head with the WWF US Heavyweight Championship before applying the Texas Cloverleaf. A few officials begin to show up as the all try and restrain Malenko. They play his Horsemen theme as he is restrained.

We return from the commercial break to see a limousine pull up in the parking lot. The licence plate reads ‘nWo 4L173’, immediately giving the crowd something to boo about. We see Eric Bischoff step out, dressed in a black leather jacket and jeans, as well as the obvious nWo shirt, and he is momentarily accompanied by Hollywood Hogan [gaining the most heat] as well as the nWo/WWF Heavyweight Champion, Bret Hart. Hart is dressed in similar attire to Bischoff as the trio make their way slowly through the parking lot, presumably heading for the entrance to the arena.
[JR]- Oh no, well here comes the Wolfpack, as you would of said ten years ago, or there abouts.
[JB]- Why can I sense a run-in during British Bulldog’s match?
[JR]- Because Bulldog is only facing both of the WWF Tag Team Champions, Hall and Nash.
Match #3
Time Limit: 15 Minutes
Winners gain entry into the Four-Team Tag Team Championship match
Legion of Doom vs. La Resistance
As the stipulation two lines above states, the winners of this match will gain entrance into a Four-Way Sudden Death tag team match at No Mercy in two weeks, joining London and Kendrick & the Tag Champions, Hall and Nash. This marked La Resistance’s return to the squared-circle on a televised SmackDown event, due to the fact that Sylvain Grenier had been absent from in-ring action since pulling his hamstring in the very match that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash won. La Resistance entered first, waving their French and Quebec flags, high into the air, polluting the applause from the audience. Legion of Doom then lightened up the mood as they came out carrying the American flags. The audience begin to hype up the Legion of Doom’s match with La Resistance being up next. The bell rang with JR foolishly mentioning that both teams were very common to the technical style. And the funniest part of all was that JR mentioned Animal in the exact same sentence. You gotta be kidding me. Anyways, the match began with Hawk and Rene Dupree as the legal men. The two locked up and began trading thunderous blows between one-another, both men also trying to whip each other into the opposite corner, only for it to be blocked or reversed. Hawk got into the driver’s seat with his countless and repetitive shoulder tackles and clotheslines, then getting stopped after a power slam by Dupree. Animal got the tag very quickly, however. Sylvain got the tag from there and began to pound away on Animal, though Animal seemed to be always on the giving end, rather than the receiving end. Rene got the tag and began getting set up for the Dupree Driver [death-valley-driver, head-first] but Hawk got in there too. La Resistance tried for the Au Revoir Chokeslam on Hawk but Animal got rid of Grenier, then got Dupree in position, one Doomsday Device later, it was over.
Winners: Legion of Doom [14:18]
Following the hard-fought battle as Jeremy Borash entitled it, the LOD’s theme hit the arena as the crowd gave the team a thunderous applause. Hawk and Animal got to there feet seconds later as Sylvain remained on his knees, jaw against the apron and Rene, face-first into the mat. Hawk and Animal raised each others arms, then slowly leaving the ring and climbing down the ring steps. Before they left, however, both men asked the audience which flag was better, the Quebec, the French or the American flags. The French flag was eliminated first by crowd response, followed by the Quebec. So both of the pairs of La Resistance’s flags were destroyed. LOD continued celebrating, the USA flags in both of their hands.
Segment
We then cut to a short video package, going through the backstory to the upcoming contest, AJ Styles vs. Batista. It started on September 25th edition of SmackDown, with a contenders battle royal match to the WWF Heavyweight Championship. It was in that match where two SmackDown representatives, Batista and John Cena began brawling over their match earlier in the evening, where Cena had won. After some brawling, John dumped Batista over the top rope, causing Batista to rush back into the ring and eliminate Cena. Then, last week, it was John Bradshaw Layfield taking on John Cena on the premiere edition of SmackDown on NBC, when Batista came out while Cena was out on the floor. Batista power bombed Cena with the official’s back turned, causing a count-out victory to JBL. Batista is still on neither SmackDown nor nWo’s alliances. It then blended in with the situation and rivalry between British Bulldog and Bret Hart/the nWo with Bischoff making Bulldog’s life hell before his WWF title match at No Mercy. One of those punishments being that Bulldog had to be stripped of the WWF Euro Championship belt. This leads to tonight.
Match #4
Time Limit: 15 Minutes
WWF Euro Championship
AJ Styles vs. Batista
Batista slowly walked out to the arena first, gaining a hate-filled reaction from the capacity crowd in attendance. Batista’s pyrotechnics went off, but he didn’t use his ‘machine gun, open-fire’ taunt, only raising both arms, a frown on his face, never stopping to stand still for the crowd. Batista ‘roared’ as he stood on the second turnbuckle, awaiting the arrival of AJ Styles. “I Am” then hit, AJ Styles gaining a huge reaction. Styles walked out in the patented and trademarked sleeveless-hooded jacket and shorts combination. Styles tried to distance himself away from Batista as much as possible during this contest, attempting and probably predicting a hit-and-run strategy. Batista saw this coming, however, as after a minute of this strategy coming to tuition, AJ was caught off-guard attempting a springboard moonsault into a reverse DDT, getting caught and slammed to the canvas in a fireman’s carry slam. Batista toyed with AJ Styles, the ‘Phenomenal One’ for a large part of the contest, innovating his basic move set at the same time as wearing down AJ for the eventual win, using basic scoop slams and fall away slams to spike AJ’s chances of winning. Batista then moved on to use his patented hard-hitting style. There, Batista left AJ Styles in the position as the opponent of Mike Tyson, the ‘Animal’ just pounded the stuffing out of AJ Styles, eventually dumping his half-conscious body over the top rope, flipping over the top rope, not even touching the ropes, actually. Batista continued to destroy AJ Styles on the outside area, delivering a Spinebuster right onto the end of the steel ramp, brutalizing the ‘Phenomenal One’. Batista treated AJ as a jobber, furthermore by gorilla pressing him into the ring over the top rope from the outside. But the advantage briefly swayed in Styles’ direction as Batista went for the Batista Bomb, only for AJ Styles to reverse it into a hurricanrana, sending Batista into the ropes. AJ Styles then ran at Batista, turning 180-degrees and hitting a moonsault, stunning Batista momentarily. AJ then made a big mistake as he dived onto Batista’s shoulders only to get power bombed to the outside. Suddenly, John Cena rushed down the ramp way, appearing behind Batista and staring him face-to-face. Batista then went to kick him, only for Cena to block it and shove Batista back. Cena rolled out of the ring as AJ rolled up Batista, cradling him, then turning and hitting the Styles Clash [minus the pick-up part]. AJ hooked the leg and it was over in no time.
Winner: AJ Styles [9:50]
Backstage Segment
We cut to the backstage area where Maria Kanellis is seen standing by with backstage interviewer for SmackDown and color-commentator for RAW, Michael Hayes. They stand in front of a big backdrop showing the old blue frame cage wall, a small monitor in the corner of it with the SmackDown logo on the curtains behind the cage wall.
[PS]- Well, Maria Kanellis, tonight is your big chance to make yourself famous on SmackDown on NBC. Maria, last week we saw you make an appearance, interrupting the WWF Womens Champion, Candice Michelle. What prompted you to make this appearance to stand up for the Womens division?
[Maria]- Well, Michael, I am a two-year specialist in martial-arts and pretty acrobatic. I stepped away from karate and judo two years ago because I felt I had reached the end of judo and karate skills. So I decided to start wrestling, and was in WWF’s developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. It just so happened that I was at SmackDown last week, and I saw the obnoxious Candice crap all over the women in the WWF, I decided it’d be the perfect opportunity to hone my skills and prove her wrong.
[PS]- Well, Candice Michelle is no walk in the park, and you should know about it if you have studied her. Are you ready for tonight?
[Maria]- If I lose, I’ll know that I tried, and probably did almost beat her myself.
[PS]- Well let’s cut to the ring right now, back to JR and Jeremy Borash!
Match #5
Time Limit: 60 Minutes
Singles Match
Christian Cage vs. Randy Orton
Christian Cage entered the arena firstly, making him way slowly down the ramp way and into the ring to his remixed and slowed down version of “Close Your Eyes” to a surprisingly loud reaction, considering that he was playing the rule-breaker this time nine days ago at Unforgiven. The announcers made a note of this, as he entered, golden pyrotechnics falling from the lighting rig/frame above the entrance stage. This was probably to spite Orton. Randy Orton then came out to ’Voices’ as he attempting to use the golden falling sparks pyro but Christian Cage had already used it several seconds before. The two got ready to lock up and they really did get hooked into it. Christian surprisingly overpowered Orton, despite weighing 35 pounds less than the self-proclaimed ’legend’. Orton got Cage trapped in a side headlock, only for Cage to slip backwards and apply a hammerlock on Orton, seconds later applying a headlock on Orton. Orton backed up into the ropes and whipped him off, giving Cage a shoulder block. Orton ran off the ropes, Cage rolling around on the canvas, then springing up at the right time and catching Orton off-guard with a dropkick. Cage went through a series of wristlocks and armlocks, until Orton rolled through, nipped up and poked Cage in the eyes with two fingers. Orton dominated from that point, focusing on the rest holds he’s best known for. Cage managed to slip out of a sleeper after several minutes trapped in one and managed to clothesline Orton over the top rope. Cage hit an impressive suicide dive onto Orton and continued his assault, slamming Orton into the announce table. But when Cage went for a dive off of the apron, Orton caught him off guard and hit the RKO out of nowhere onto the end of the canvas! Orton rolled him into the ring and covered but Cage got his foot on the ropes. Orton got Cage set up for the RKO again but Cage shoved Orton off then hit the Reverse DDT out of nowhere. Cage covered and got the three count, though Randy had his foot on the bottom rope!
Winner: Christian Cage [16:08]
“Just Close Your Eyes” played once again as the crowd went insane, Christian Cage celebrating, though very, very wary. He uses the referee's striped shirt to get to his feet as the official raises his hand as the victor. Cage stumbles over to the corner where he uses the turnbuckle and the ring post to kep stable on his feet. Meanwhile, Randy Orton slowly climbs to his feet and begins arguing with the official, the camera ctaching most of the conversation. Orton said that this was bullcrap and that the referee should be fired for biased officiating. The referee turns his back to Orton, only for Orton to get peeved off even more, flatlining the official with the RKO. Orton returns to his feet and clotheslines Cage over the top rope, the crowd booing at Orton's appauling behavior. Orton stalks Christian Cage, climbing out of the ring behind him as Cage struggles to his feet. Cage ducks one of Orton's clothesline and delivers one or two hands to Orton, only for Randy to deliver a low-blow. Orton throws Cage into the steel steps, causing the top piece of steps to tip over. Orton stalks Cage before delivering a heinus RKO right onto bottom piece of the steel steps. The crowd boo as Orton raises his arms into the air. To add further injury to insult, Orton grabs the top set of the stairs and slams it right down over Cage's left ankle! We quickly cut away from Orton, thankfully.

Non-Title Match
Candice Michelle vs. Maria Kanellis
Maria Kanellis walked down to the ring to ‘Start a Fire in Me’ by Jim Johnston and received a decent reaction, surprising, considering that Maria is a new performer on SmackDown. Candice Michelle came out pretty confident, and took pleasure in embarrassing Maria Kanellis whenever she could. Kanellis used some pretty stiff kicks in the opening moments of the match, kicking the Womens Champion in the side with a kick at the lock-up point. Maria then started using some offensive moves, varying from the hip toss to a springboard cross body. Kanellis is right when she said she was pretty acrobatic. Maria used some more technical skills also. But when she tried for a DDT, it got reversed into a northern lights suplex, where Candice began stomping away Maria and underestimating her ability. Kanellis was beaten down as Candice simply worked away at the new coming woman’s back, using some painful spine busters and backbreakers. Candice began using her legs to also try and beat Maria into submission, using her long legs to put Kanellis to sleep, and using the camel clutch as well. Though, through all of this, Kanellis remained strong, brave and resilient, keeping with it and not letting Michelle win. Candice’s momentum continued to elevate, also starting to use some aerial attacks, such as the splash onto the spine of Maria, and in an amazing high spot, a moonsault from the second rope onto Maria, which Kanellis sold like a professional. Candice also tried going for many covers and pinfall attempts, but every single time, Maria kicked out or got a rope break. Whenever Candice trapped Maria in a submission, Maria either reversed or countered after a while or reached the ropes. Maria eventually reversed an abdominal stretch by Candice into a hip toss and used a hurricanrana for a close count. Candice went for a roundhouse kick but Maria ducked and kicked Candice in the side of the head. Kanellis hit the Pumphandle Michinoku Driver II for the win in her debut!
Winner: Maria Kanellis [12:24]
Maria Kanellis' theme hits once again as the crowd cheer, probably the loudest they've chanted for a female in a wrestling match since Chyna, as the newcoming diva climbs to her feet from off of the canvas as Candice Michelle turns over onto her front, burying her face with her hands, knowing that she just got embarrassed by the new girl on the block. Candice then slowly rolled into the corner and sat on the bottom turnbuckle pad as Maria yelled across the ring and signalled that Michelle's Womens Championship would be hers in the future. The official hands Candice her title belt before she hugs it and rolls out of the ring under the ropes.

We cut to the backstage interview section once again as this time, the American Badass, The Undertaker is waiting to be interviewed by Michael Hayes. Hayes looks pretty small compared to Undertaker as the Undertaker begins to rotate both of his fists, black shades covering his eyes and his black and white bandana hiding his fringe.
[PS]-[/color] Well, Undertaker, lately you've been on an unstoppable force in the World Wrestling Federation, probably due to the invasion of SmackDown and the WWF by the New World Order, is there any reason why you seem more agressive than before, despite doing the exact same thing as before the nWo came along?
[Taker]-[/color] What kind of stupid-ass comment and question was that, Michael? Look, you dumbass, I've been in the World Wrestling Federation for eighteen years of my life, that is a whole childhood and teenage stage in somebody's life. You think that I'm agressive now? Look, Hayes, I haven't been the WWF Heavyweight Champion since 2002. In fact, the only belt I have had my hands on was the WWF US Heavyweight Championship when it was equivalent to the Hardcore title. Then, I take a time out from wrestling to heal some wounds, to fix up the Undertaker deadman persona, and black and white took over. Hollywood Hogan, Eric Bischoff. They've all gotten in my way. Hall, Nash, and now X-Pac, Randy Orton and John Bradshaw Layfield. I decided that the American Badass persona was the right way to go. I don't want people mistaking me for an nWo guy, because I was born WWF-bred, and I will remain that way. It's been too long for these jackasses to come in here and take over. I got positioned as the Co-President of the WWF in Vince McMahon's absence. But no matter how hard I try, I cannot get my hands on Hollywood Hogan, because Eric Bischoff is holding the other end of the damn stick. I only have this match against Hollywood Hogan for No Mercy because I sacrificed a WWF title match. Why? Because when I get the leader, Hogan out of the way. Then, I can move on to take out every other bastard in the nWo.
The Undertaker shoves the microphone into Michael Hayes' chest as he storms off screen.
[PS]-[/color] Well folks, that was the Undertaker, obviously in a foul mood--- WAIT! Michael Hayes stares to his right and runs in that direction, the camera following him to show Kevin Nash and Scott Hall of the Outsiders beating down the Undertaker with two steel chairs. Hall bashes the chair against Undertaker's skull while against the wall. Can we get somebody here now? Come on, Taker's down!
Kevin Nash scoop slams Undertaker onto a silver cart as Hall walks over with his chair. Hall climbs onto the cart as well, choking Undertaker out with the narrow end of the chair as the crowd can be heard booing in the background. Undertaker groans in pain as he falls off of the crate onto the floor. Nash and Hall laugh and walk away as Michael Hayes is left to attend to the bloody Undertaker.

The Outsiders [Scott Hall and Kevin Nash] vs. British Bulldog and Triple H
Everybody watching in attendence expected that this would be a mindless slaughter for the nWo to try and numb British Bulldog down for No Mercy. British Bulldog walked from the backstage area to a thunderous ovation, 'Rule Britannia' playing loudly into the arena. He showed his upper-arm muscles and rotated his body from side to side as red sparks lit up the moderately dark arena as the spotlight from the rafters watched over him. Bulldog walked down the ramp and climbed into the ring as he anticipated the battle of his life. The New World Order's Tag Team Champions, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash then entered seperately, Hall entering first to 'Marvelous Me' followed by Kevin Nash to an instrumental remix of 'Dre'. The bell rang as Nash was decided to begin the match with Bulldog. The two locked up with Bulldog overpowering Nash and delivering countless shots to the chest of Nash. Nash eventually fought off Bulldog with a knee to the gut and then shoved Bulldog around a little, hitting a bulldog. That's when Scott Hall got the tag and both Outsiders got ready for a double team move, a Powerbomb by Nash while Hall had the Outsider Slam ready, Bulldog laid out on top of them. But the crowd's cheers energized their hopes as Triple H came rushing down the ramp, a supposed nWo member. Triple H gave his former friend, Nash a low-blow and hit a lifted knee to the spine of Hall, banging both Hall and Nash's heads together and dumping Nash over the top rope. Triple H grabbed a microphone and told the referee not to disqualify Bulldog. Triple H then simply made the match a tag team contest. But despite this, Bulldog still got worked on by Scott Hall as Hall worked the ribs of Bulldog, dropping numerous elbows on his gut and hitting a gutwrench suplex also. Kevin then got the tag and had a strategy where he was to simply go in there and Jackknife the British Bulldog, however Bulldog jumped out of it and delivered a retaliating clothesline. Bulldog used it as a desperate cry for the tag, and he got it after several moments. Triple H came in and delivered a spinebuster on Nash, then Nash got the tag to Hall. Hall went in there and both Hall and Triple H traded blows. Triple H eventually hit the DDT on him however as Nash took out Triple H with a clothesline. Bulldog got involved too, taking out Nash as Hall set up for the Outsider Slam on Triple H. Hunter landed on his feet behind Hall, twisted the nWo guy around and the Pedigree finished off Hall.
Winners: Triple H and British Bulldog [16:50]
The instrumental version of 'My Time' plays loudly into the arena as Triple H gets off of his knees and British Bulldog slides into the ring under the ropes. Bulldog walks over to Triple H as the official stands between them, raising their arms high into the air. We then notice in the bottom right of our screen, Bret "Hitman" Hart jumping the guard rail, dressed in his black leather jacket and jeans, the nWo Heavyweight Championship in his hand. Hart rolls into the ring and goes to jump British Bulldog with Kevin Nash but Triple H and British Bulldog spot them, and the two pairs immediately engage in a staredown. Hart attempts to make the first shot but Bulldog ducks him and Hart falls onto the canvas behind him. Nash and Triple H engage in a war of fists, it spreading to the outside area as Bulldog grabs Hart's nWo Heavyweight Championship and nails him with it right in the head. Hart goes flying over the top rope as 'Rule Britannia' plays again. SmackDown goes off the air.[/center]
