SO after watching the latest installment of Impact that is now in HD. I would have to say I am disgusted. I have voiced this in the Impact thread but then I watched last weeks episode and found what it was that has really made me turn off Impact or fast forward through it.
The matches have gotten sloppy.
Plain and simple. I will admit I am an obvious ROH fan. I am also though a work rate fan. That isn't to say that I don't enjoy a match up every so often that has gotten bad reviews just because but I would have to say that the fed has given us some very good match ups lately and the work rate on all brands has gone up.
TNA unfortunately has gone the other direction that what they used to be. They used to have everything from high flying to death defying and hard hitting.
Now... we have what? An X Division match that wouldn't have been the main event on Velocity or Heat. A main event that had all the build and drama of a Disney Channel Special. The only match that even had any work rate in it was the women's match. The tag team hardcore blah blah blah... was just plain... stupidity in a bottle. Why would you end it heel vs heel and then have the legends team come out looking like faces when we all know they are going to join the MEM or at least fight alongside them?
Anyway I am basically just not understanding why TNA has decided to take away what used to be their strong point and turned it into nothingness which was their wrestlers could tell damn good stories in the ring.

Ok well then it is just me that felt that having Lethal lose in under two minutes after winning a "career making" Terrordome match was a bad idea.

Other stuff needed time and it was live remember so they were against the clock and may have been behind schedule.

in the past, i'd say tna was very sloppy. however, i would not say that now as their professionalism has picked up. although not to the level of wwe, but the wwe's ring maneuvering is much more controlled.

Ok then for those of you who said it wasn't sloppy. I'll explain to you what I felt was sloppy.
Jay Lethal has a huge amount of talent. On top of that Shiek Abdul Bashir also has a very good amount of talent. Neither is in a huge feud with one another, and obviously from the end of the episode Bashir is going to start something with Rhino. The match did not show anything. The moves were not crips, even the jump from the top rope for Lethal was just bland and did nothing to Bashir who immediately got up and went after Lethal. A basic no sell. Lethal got in no moves that even made it look like he was taking the match seriously. From the get go it looked like he was going to lose to me and how does that even draw in the basic fan if the face looks weak? At the same time nothing that Bashir did focused on the head/neck area of Lethal thus when he got hit with the WoMD it was a weak finish but Lethal sold it anyway.
That is a weak sloppy match.
" You need some work on your wrestling terms. "
Fine I'll put it in wrestling terms, this was not a good match.

I was dissapointed with the outcome of Lethal vs Bashir, but even still TNA still does good matches.

They gave Lethal a massive push of momentum and he obliterated Bashir like he was an 80s jobber. Then out of nowhere, a weak DDT finished it.

Hard to say "sloppy" really, but disorganized at times? Not as enjoyable. Yes for me. There's not nearly enough wrestling in the show so this leads to short and predictable spot matches that have no time to build. Plus even if they are good I'm not emotionally invested in any of the stories because until the last couple episodes I haven't been able to figure out what the heck is going on.

Honestly, I think in terms of actual wrestling; TNA is the best to be found on television. - Yes, some of the matches weren't up to par on the live iMPACT! - but normally we get a couple of great matches each week, if not more.

For me, in terms of wrestling build, ECW has some of the better matches. Sometimes I find the main events of ECW to have more bang than Raw or SD!. TNA used to have some very good action but they are slowing down the paces of matches which is fine. They are also fine tuning some finishers which I could understand as well. But damn... the live show to me was just horrid. But from what I am told this week's Impact! is awesome so I will wait and see.

there will always be a few mistakes when you are trying to work fast-paced matches. tna mixes their pieces up each week as well. wwe puts out the same slow, boring matches with the same players night after night, with the exception of matt sydal. every wwe match looks the same no matter who the participants are.

No it's so much better then it used to be. I love the style of TNA the main event mafia was a great idea. I love the ta teams and the X divsion.

IMO, none of TNA's matches are sloppy at all. What spawn_syxx9 thinks is sloppy isn't sloppy. And damned sloppy? Shouldn't it be damn? Anyways, I think lately, TNA's matches have been improving. Yes, some are bad, but none are sloppy on my terms. And having Lethal doing bland moves along with Bashir isn't sloppy. It is just below average wrestling. It was a weak match, but not sloppy.
