What up all, I am one of the many collectors that Jakks has managed to piss off. See, here's my story. Me and my bro have been wrestling fans since the early 80's. Our favourite tag team off all-time is the British Bulldogs. We were lucky enough to see them wrestle live at Maple Leaf Gardens when were kids, and even celebrated when they won the WWF tag team titles at WrestleMania 2. My brother even went to bed praying at night that LJN would make the Bulldogs, only to have that prayer answered a few months later. Anyhow, you could imagine how happy we were to learn that Jakks was coming out with a Bulldogs tag team set. Compared to the CSTT's, this SHOULD have been an easy job to do as the Bulldogs didn't carry a heavy amount of accessories. All they had to do was slap a new Davey Boy head on the Dynamite body, stick it in a pack with TWO tag titles, and voila! But noooooo. So...as created by my bro, here are the Bulldogs...the way they should have been.

The British Bulldogs that were just released in Classic Series 9 2-packs were completely in correct. British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith had the same head that the Series 7 (1991-1992 version) had. However, the British Bulldogs that were shown at ToyFair have the correct British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith head, and THAT one is scheduled to come out in Classic Series 24. Here's the link to the pictures that where shown at Toyfair: wrestlingfigs.com/inner2.php?id=9860&page_id=1 . However, being a Jakks Classic collector I'm sure you've already seen the Toyfair pictures, being that that's the biggest deal in the whole year of the Classics Figure Line. But you probably thought they WERE going to come out with those ones in Classic Series 9 2-packs, but jobbed it and came out with the crap ones they did. However, that is wrong. Those ones at Toyfair are scheduled to come out in Classic Series 24, along with Linda and Stephanie McMahon, John Cena (Debut), Trish Stratus, RVD LJN and Too Cool Brian Christopher and Scott 2 Hotty (which are replacing the Killer Bees which were originally scheduled to be rereleased in that series). The Warlord, Mr Fuji, Sherri, Shawn Michaels and El Matador that were shown at Toyfair are scheduled to come out in the next 3-pack series which will be: Barbarian (not yet shown) and Warlord (Powers of Pain) w/ Mr Fuji and El Matador vs Shawn Michaels (w/ Sherri) Wrestlemania 8 match (This information comes directly from Jeremy himself). I agree Jakks has done a very poor job this year with the Classic Series compared to the previous 4 years, but that is partly because the first 4 years were the greatest thing the Wrestling Figure world had ever seen (in my opinion EVEN greater than Hasbro and I'm a huge Hasbro fan, hense my screen name wwfhasbrowwf, so that's saying something) (and the greatest thing the wrestling world has even seen since the glory years Wrestlemania 1-Wrestlemania11 - the coliseum video days), this year has still had a few good releases. The Toyfair this year was good, the Mr Fuji, Warlord, Sherri and Shawn were unbelievable, especially the Sherri and Mr Fuji. The El Matador was also good. The Demolition 3pack and the Rythm n Blues 3pack were UNBELIEVABLE and the Classic Deluxe Series 4 were also UNBELIEVABLE. The jake, koko, bulldog and rocks family tree 3packs were also good. So even though that actually Classic Series were complete failures with only a few good figures per series, the 3packs and Deluxe and this years Toyfair weren't all that bad. Enjoy it for what it is. If Classics ended in 2007 Jakks Classic figures would still be one of, and close to the, greatest thing in wrestling history (only thing better is the glory days of wrestling, Wrestlemania 1 - Wrestlemania 11, the coliseum video days) , but Classics comes close to even that!!!!!! The first four years were unbelievable (especially the Toyfair protottype room pictures and the Real Scale Rings, it's absoloutly purely unbelievable!!!) The Classics have made my life 5 times better living the past 4 years because of these awesome figures, and I'm acurately serious!!!! Classics are unbelievable!!! And if they ended right now they would go down as something purely amazing!!!! But yes, this year has been a major failure compared to past years. But when they end next year I will be very satisfied. Just my 2 cents.

There's a lot of things to complain about as a wrestling fan. and I mean ALOT OF THINGS. but the Classic superstars are not one of them!!!!!!!!!!! and what do i mean about alot of things to complain about when it comes to wrestling? Actually everything except early 80s WWF up untill the screwjob (1997 survivor series) (or maybe up untill Wrestlemania 14, which is pre-attitude era), and except ECW (1993-2001) all the other stuff does is make me miserable. And yes I keep up to date on it and ive seen all of wrestlings history but i dont like it. With except of awa remcos, wwf ljns, wcw galoobs, wwf hasbros, and of course WWE Classics, everything else in wrestling is painfull. Ive seen all the attitude, wcw, new stuff, etc.... because its called an addiciton that hurts you but you cant stop. But its all painfulll. But with the pain comes good things, like Classics, and the glory days of the wwf (wrestlemania 1 - wrestlemania 11, the coliseum days), and wwf hasbros, and the pain is worth the pleasure. again. my 2 cents. every wrestling fan is entitlted to their opinion , and in a lot of ways wrestling fans are the smartest people on the planet because their obsession with wrestling is so great, they just naturally know what theyre talking about. I love the Classic superstars, purely amazing, if they end tomorow, they make my life SO much better, and theyre absoloutly amazing.

the customs look great. i agree with how bad the 2pack looks. i was hoping for the way they looked at the toyfair/comic con whatever it was. those should be in the 2 pack

The British Bulldogs that were just released in Classic Series 9 2-packs were completely incorrect. My theory as to why mistakes like these happen is that Jakks representatives give away the protos at ToyFair, and then the company forgets how they looked and how to mass produce them ~correctly~ later on.

or maybe Jakks were just too lazy to recreate them and to save the company some money by using the same headscans we had from the start.. but of course, if we don't like it, we wont get it, right? So customs and fixups are the least that we can do!

I'm probably the easiest too please in the WF community. If I wanted the bulldogs which I do I'd be fine with hair being totally as screwed up as possible. However I don't want them because of daveys drug use. I'd end up buying him then never using him because of his drug use. I only buy for my fed and buying Santino and John Morrison are close too pushing it.

I know this is a old thread and I loved that Jakks did a 3pk with Matilda but why with Davey boy Dreadlocks Thanks to the poster for the great photos how to mod them but why didnt Jakks do a Baby blue version ? But my real question is did he just give Davey Boy a haircut ? If so thats a liveable fix , thanks in advance because I'll just use a 2 pk head and then take a series 20 Dynamite kid and put a cut dread lock version like he did in the red tights . Now a search for Matilda

Locking this, because the thread is over 5 years old and the OP has not been online in 2 years.
