CENA,most def I think one of the thing most people are forgetting is the era...If everything was kayfab like in Hogans era Cena would be just as big.another thing is the level of competition.Back in the territory days you could have a monster heel with a rep that few had seen and have him attack Hogan and BOOM his appearance and rep made him someone Hogan must defeat.(example Paul Orandorff). Also Hogan had something else from that period helping him....GOOD OLD AMERICANA and storytelling/long build ups. American pride was huge back then..If Hogan wasn't fighting a Commie he was fighting a Iraqi. The lines of good and bad where very defined making it easier, look how much trouble Hogan had in WCW when the line got blurry. Cena has had to deal with INTERNET, poor storytelling, blurry character lines and still has become huge. I REALLY can't believe I just wrote all of this and Iam not even a Cena fan..but facts are facts

I would most definetly say the modern day Hulk Hogan is John Cena. Average wrestling skills/big crowd pops/WWE champ/sells alot of mercandiseAgree 1000%

People didn't boo hogan because they were tired of him. He had a steriod incident and then went to a different crappy company (at the time) pretty much turning himself into a real life heel anyway. Most of the people that grew up watching him felt lied to by their childhood hero about 'honesty and trust, taking vitemins, praying' ect..
They really had no other way to go that think of some interesting heel role.
