You should look towards GB 2012, only chance you have of getting in a competition anytime soon ;[ Don't think help from the national side that managed 1 shot on target against a weakened side ranked 117th in the world will help us that much tbh. I would agree with you, but as hosts I think we automatically qualify so even England can't screw it up.

Don't consider the Olympics a major tournament anyway with it's age restrictions.

Well, how the did we do that?!? Haha, Parker, Jagielka and Welbeck I thought were very well! Rodwell, Walcott and Lescott also did well. Glenn Johnson is still no good at defending, knows why Micah Richards wasn't there, and Ashley Cole was caught out a few times tonight, maybe he's past it

Quality result and lovely contribution by the Everton lads, Jags even had a hairline fracture of his toe and kept a clean sheet against the world and euro champions... easy!
Guess that makes us world cup champions now?...

Good day Yest. Was in Cardiff to watch Wales trump Norway, England somehow clinged onto beating Spain and I got a Mod spot. Good day all in all.
Enjoyed the game at Cardiff, quite a lot of people there. I had good seats and suprisingly free seats either side. Bale and Bellamy had two good goals, Vokes' two were simple and Hennersy made a blunder to stop his clean sheet. Overall, a good day out even the anti Team GB shouts didn't make too much of a fuss.

I have to say I have been thoroughly impressed with Wales recently, credit to Gary Speed, I was a definate doubter, but he is getting me back into following my country.

I supported him since the start. He seems to put a big emphasis on youth which seems to be working out well. He also sees how important Bale and Bellamy are as our main attacking forces down the flanks.

Well done to Ireland!
Good to see Rodwell play well for England, really put in a good performance but how Walker got MOTM is beyond me.

I ing hate international football. One of the most boring games I have ever seen. I just cannot give two shits about the England national team.

but how Walker got MOTM is beyond me. No-one else deserved it. Jones, Rodwell and Cahill all played decent but did nothing spectacular to ear MOTM. Walker defended well and got forward better, there was no-one else who could claim MOTM. It was a really tame game, would have liked to see what happened if the goal didn't go in, then maybe England would have tried a bit more.

I actually missed most of the first half bit from what I saw Walker seemed really sloppy with his distribution and always hoofed it up field. My dad said Rodwell played well first half and Walker was shit, thought they would just give it to Barry for scoring at the time even though its now been given as an OG.

Got tickets to the Gary Speed memorial match, Wales vs. Costa Rica. Wales should walk it but I'm unsure. They want a new manager by then, looks like it will be Coleman. I just hope he doesn't mess around with Wales too much. Speed had them running perfectly, just let his assistants run it and put a high profile name as manager. I know this may sound odd, but what about Robbie Savage? A controversial choice but obviously someone close to Gary and would want to continue what he was building. Dunno if he's got all the right qualifications, but it'd be good to see.

Just watched the Penalty Shootout for the African Cup of Nations final. Gerviniho shanked the vital pen, you could tell he didn't want to take it as he went 9th (first 14 pens all scored, then 3 missed!) behind Kolo Toure, and he looked so nervous stepping up. Zambia looked so happy when they won, wonder what the odds on them were before the tournament.
Ivory Coast are probably the greatest African team of all time, but they still haven't won anything! Glad they lost in the final as I love an underdog win (unless Utd lose) and it meant that rivals' players were kept away for the maximum time without the victory.
