Backstage news on The Main Event Mafia
The top heels in the Main Event Mafia (Sting, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner) are all said to be very much into the new angle and feel like the crowd response to the angle is hot. It should be noted that TNA World Champion Sting not being involved in the beatdowns is serving two purposes. The first is to play off the movie "The Godfather" where he watches his boys do the dirty work. The second is if they make the decision to have him break off from the group then they can bring up that he never fully joined in the beatdowns.
TNA Originals getting a new name?
The TNA babyface group going against the Main Event Mafia, formerly called the TNA Originals, will be getting a new name since many of the members were not originals reports The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online. The new name will be more than likely announced at the TV tapings this Monday and Tuesday in Orlando, FL.

I really like the MEM, it's quite compelling viewing, as mentioned in a thread i made earlier, it actually makes me want to go out of my way and WATCH a wrestling show, A feat which hasn't happend for many many years.

They should keep the "Young Lions"... and keep it AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels (when he returns), Jay Lethal, and Chris Sabin (after Alex Shelley defects.) Guys like Creed, ODB, LAX etc could still be affiliated with them.

It also ties into this philosophy for Sting. That he isn't just doing this to beat down other guys. He just wants them to respect him so he has no reason to join in the beatings.
