Commentators: Michael Cole and Tazz
**SmackDown! opens with a video highlighting the World Heavyweight Championship Match with Randy Orton defeating Chris Jericho and JBL. After the match while Orton was celebrating over his latest victory, the lights went out, and the #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Title, The Undertaker, appeared in the ring and attacked Orton. The two men made it to the top of the stage where Undertaker Chokeslammed Orton off the side of the stage through four tables**
Cole:Welcome to SmackDown! everybody! We’re glad you joined us here tonight, because trust me folks, tonight is gonna be big.
Tazz:That’s right Cole, after One Night Stand, we don’t even know if Orton’s gonna be here tonight.
Cole:That was such a brutal attack we saw this past Sunday, I just hope he’s ok.
Tazz:I don’t know Cole, Taker did do some damage before he Chokeslammed the champ.
Cole:Well Ladies and Gentlemen coming up later tonight we start the……..what the? The lights went out
Tazz:Oh, you know what that means Cole. THE UNDERTAKER IS HERE!
Undertaker:This past Sunday, I sent the World Heavyweight Champion straight to hell. Come Night of Champions, if Randy Orton is still alive, he will then, REST IN…..
The music of SmackDown! General Manager Mr. McMahon hit
Cole:Oh, here comes Mr. McMahon Tazz, and he doesn’t look too happy.
Tazz:Would you be Michael? Taker could have just put out our World Champion, I’d be livid with The Undertaker.
McMahon:Undertaker, what the in the hell were you thinking this past Sunday? What you did was absolutely wrong in my eyes. That were our World Champion, the future of the business Randy Orton, and I don’t know if he’ll be able to shop up here tonight thanks to you. Now you walk around with something that isn’t yours and you think your special don’t you? Well tonight you do have something, and that’s a match, it’s gonna be The Undertaker vs. John “Bradshaw” Layfield.
Cole: Oh my Tazz, the General Manager has spoken.
Tazz: Yes he has Cole and tonight we got a pretty big match!
Cole: You’re right about that Tazz but that’s not all. We gotta get ourselves new WWE Tag Team Champions since Flair and Henning walked out on the company, so coming up next it’s the semi-finals of the Race for Gold Tournament, next is Paul London and Brian Kendrick vs. Christian Cage and Chris Jericho.

RACE FOR THE GOLD TOURNAMENT- SEMI-FINALS
PAUL LONDON AND BRIAN KENDRICK VS. CHRIS JERICHO AND CHRISTIAN CAGE[/u]
We start off the match with Paul London and Christian Cage. London and Cage start in a Lock Up in the middle of the ring but Paul swings around to the back and hooks in a Sleeper Hold. Christian elbows his way out and hits a Northern Lights Suplex and Cage gets a 2 count as Paul London uses his strength to lift himself back up. London then jumped over Christian, still with arms locked around Christian’s waist, and went for the pin but Christian kicked out. London then hit a Closeline on Cage, but he got up. Then London hit a Closeline but this time he hooked his arm around the neck and brought Christian down. London then went over and tagged Kendrick in. Kendrick went to the top rope and hit a Missile Dropkick on Cage and then hit a standing Shooting Star Press but only got a 2 count. Kendrick thought he’d try to finish it so he went for The Kendrick, but while in the air, Cage threw Kendrick to the outside. Cage then tagged in Chris Jericho. Jericho wasted no time as he ran to the ropes and flipped himself over onto Kendrick on the outside. Y2J picked him up and threw him back into the ring. He put Kendrick in the corner and started chopping away. Jericho then went to throw Kendrick into the opposite corner, but Kendrick reversed and tried to send Y2J into the turnbuckle. Y2J caught himself and jumped over Kendrick. Kendrick turned around and got nailed with an Enzugari. Y2J started to taunt Brian Kendrick and then went for his Lionsault, but Brian moved out of the way just in time and tagged in his partner Paul London. London came in and Closelined Jericho and then hit a Dropsault on Cage to knock him off the apron. Then London hit a Hurincanrana on Y2J and right when he got back up, London hit him with a Dragon Suplex but only got a 2 count. Paul went for another Closeline, but Jericho ducked, then Y2J went for a Dropkick, but London moved and the ref got hit with it. London capitalized by taking out Jericho with a kick to the back of the head. London went to the top rope, but the ref was still out. London went over to try and wake the ref, but he wasn’t moving. Cage tried getting involved, but Kendrick came in and Closelined him over the top rope and Kendrick went with him. London turned around and got the Walls of Jericho locked in. London is about to tap and the ref is still out. All of a sudden, JBL came running down to the ring and booted Jericho in the back of the head, he then Powerbombed London onto Y2J and the ref was back up to make the count.
WINNERS: PAUL LONDON AND BRIAN KENDRICK[/u]
Cole: Good for London and Kendrick but damn JBL had to come in and cost Jericho and Cage the Tag Team Titles.
Tazz: Hey Cole, there could still be some bad blood between JBL and Jericho so I’d just let it be so we can watch those two guys beat the hell out of each other. Congrats to Paul and Brian though, great job guys. They move on to the finals next week, I can’t wait.
Cole: That’s right and our second semi-final match and it’s gonna be Monty Brown and Bobby Lashley vs. The Spirit Squad’s Nicky and Mikey. We now send it back to Josh Matthews for an interview with Eddie Guerrero.
Matthews: Ladies And Gentlemen please welcome my guest at this time, the former NWA Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero. Eddie, coming up next, you have a United States Championship match against Maven, what are your thoughts?
Guerrero: My thoughts? MY THOUGHTS?! Vince McMahon just stripped me of the NWA Heavyweight Title last week on SmackDown!, that was everything I had holmes, and now he thinks it’ll be all better with a United States Championship Match? This ain’t over ese, I’m pissed off right now and I could give a damn about a United States Championship Match.
Matthews: Do you think you’ll become the U.S. Champion here tonight?
Guerrero: Will I become the U.S. Champion? Hahahaha
Then Eddie just walked away
Cole: Can you believe him Tazz? Eddie is still paranoid about his NWA World Title being stripped.
Tazz: I would be too. Eddie never lost the title, and now he can’t have it anymore, that’s bogus man. Anyways, United States Title is on the line next. The champ Maven defends against a pissed off Eddie Guerrero, oh and it’s gonna be good.

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
MAVEN (C) VS. EDDIE GUERRERO[/u]
The match started with a Lock Up in the ring with Maven pushing Guerrero to the ground. Guerrero looked back up at Maven and Maven just flexed his muscles. Eddie went running at Maven and Maven hit Eddie with a Big Back Body Drop. Maven then brought Eddie up and nailed him with an Atomic Drop, then hit a Suplex after and only got a 2 count. Maven went for a Powerbomb, but Eddie countered with a Hurincanrana to Maven to buy him some time. Eddie hit a Closeline on Maven, Maven got up. Eddie hit another one, once again Maven got up. Eddie then kept Maven down with a Dropkick. Eddie then went for the 3 Amigos. After Eddie hit the first one, Maven countered into a Powerslam and nailed it on Eddie. Maven then caught Eddie in a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Maven then hit Eddie with a Corkscrew Suplex and went for the cover but only got a 2 count. Maven then went for one of his finishers, a running Headbutt, but Eddie moved and Maven went head first into the turnbuckle. Maven turned around and Eddie hit all 3 of the 3 Amigos. Eddie went to the top rope and hit the Frog Splash but only got a 2 count! Eddie was furious. He rolled to the outside and grabbed a steel chair. The ref tried to stop him but Eddie just shoved the ref aside and nailed Maven in the head with the chair to disqualify himself and end the match.
WINNER VIA DISQULIFICATION AND STILL UNITED STATES CHAMPION: MAVEN[/u]
After the bell rang, Eddie wasn’t done. Eddie picked up Maven and nailed him with a Brainbuster Suplex onto the chair.
Cole: Damn it Eddie! Why did you do this?!
Tazz: To an extent the guy can be angry but right here, that was uncalled for.
Cole: Look at the blood dripping from Maven’s head and Eddie laughs and smiles at it, how sick is the mind of Eddie Guerrero.
Tazz: I don’t know Cole, but I know one thing, Maven won’t take this, he’ll look for revenge on Eddie Guerrero.
Cole: Well let’s go backstage to see the former WWE Tag Team Champions Monty Brown & Bobby Lashley preparing for their match coming up next.
Tazz: This is my pick to win it all Cole, look at this, Bobby Lashley, former WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, ECW Champion, United States Champion, and Tag Team Champion and hey his partner ain’t that bad either.
Cole: Monty Brown, nothing to mess with a former United States Champion and Tag Team Champion, these two could win it all, and their match is next.

RACE FOR THE GOLD TOURNAMENT- SEMI-FINALS
SPIRIT SQUAD (NICKY & MICKEY) VS. BOBBY LASHLEY & MONTY BROWN[/u]
We start the match with Monty Brown and Mikey. Mikey starts dancing in front of Brown and Brown just takes him out with a hard Closeline. Brown throws Mikey across the ring and hits a Spinebuster on the SS member. Brown then hits a Reverse Suplex. Brown goes to the corner and tags in his partner, Lashley. Lashley takes Mickey to the corner and just hits him until Mikey is out cold. He then tosses Mikey into the opposite corner and runs at him and hits a Spear into the corner. To top it all of he hits a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Lashley then tags back in his partner Monty Brown. After the tag, Lashley runs at Nicky on the apron and takes him out with a Spear to the outside. Monty then waits for Mikey to get back up and nails him with the Pounce for the win.
WINNERS: BOBBY LASHLEY & MONTY BROWN[/u]
Tazz: Well, thanks for coming Spirit Squad, you did a lot of work hehe.
Cole: That wasn’t even fair Tazz, they were walking into a death sentence with that match, I don’t know if those two could be stopped.
Tazz: Hold on Cole, Brown’s getting on the mic.
Brown: You see that London and Kendrick?! That’s just a preview of what you two are getting next week in the finals. There is nothing stopping me and Lashley from getting what’s rightfully ours, the WWE Tag Team Titles. You two will be taken out with the POOOOOOOUUUUUNNNNNCCCCCEEEE!!!! PERIOD!
Cole: Strong words from Monty Brown.
Tazz: He speaks the truth, they are so close and next week we’ll see if they can take back the WWE Tag Team Titles. But now let’s go backstage for MVP’s VIP Lounge.
MVP: Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to the VIP Lounge. Tonight we’ve seen a lot go down here on SmackDown! from The Undertaker to the decimation of the Spirit Squad, but my guest here tonight is a man who would not be on the show tonight if I wasn’t having a VIP Lounge, please, welcome Kane. (fans start to cheer as Kane is shown on the titantron). Now Kane, how does it feel not to be #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Title and your brother is? How bout not being included in the Race For The Gold Tournament with your brother? How bout being absolutely forgotten since your brother is The Undertaker?! How does that feel?
Kane looks so angry and grabs MVP by his throat but MVP Low Blows Kane. Kane is doubled over and MVP drops him with an elbow to the back of the head.
MVP: How does it feel to not be as good as MVP?
Cole: What a jerk, Tazz. I hope MVP gets what’s coming to him.
Tazz: Cole, let the guy go, he just made a statement and pretty much said you can’t mess with me. But I’ll tell you who’s gonna get what’s coming to him, JBL because next it’s JBL vs. The Undertaker in our mainevent.
(Commercial)
Before the mainevent started we see Josh Matthews in the back with an important message from the Spirit Squad.
Nicky: Next week, right here on SmackDown, Mikey and I have something that everyone will enjoy.
Mikey: We may have lost here tonight, but it all changes next week on SmackDown!.
THE UNDERTAKER VS. JOHN “BRADSHAW” LAYFIELD[/u]
The two men start off in the middle in a Lock Up and JBL starts hitting The Undertaker and throws him off the ropes. JBL went for a Closeline, Undertaker ducked and bounced off the other side to hit JBL with his own Flying Closeline. The Undertaker then waited for JBL to get to his feet and started hitting him with lefts and rights and then an Uppercut from The Phenom. He tossed him to the other side and went for a Big Boot, but JBL ducked. Taker was expecting JBL to rebound off the other ropes, but JBL stood behind The Deadman and poked him in the eye. He then hit a Neckbreaker on The Undertaker to only get a 2 count. JBL then brought Taker up and smashed his knee on Undertaker’s face. He then took Undertaker and sat him on the top rope. JBL went to the second rope and hit a Superplex on The Undertaker. JBL waited and then picked up The Undertaker again and went for his Powerbomb, but Undertaker flipped him over his back. JBL went running at Taker to go for the Closeline From Hell, but Taker countered with a Big Boot to JBL. Taker then took JBL to the corner and hit Old School on JBL. The Undertaker went for a Chokeslam, but JBL kicked him in the gut on the way up and JBL hit the Powerbomb only for a 2 count. JBL went for the Closeline From Hell again and again Undertaker countered and this time hit the Chokeslam on JBL. The Undertaker got up and signified the end was near. Undertaker lifted JBL up for the Tombstone but JBL slid off his back and nailed the Closeline From Hell but only got a 2 count and when Undertaker kicked out, he hooked in Hell’s Gate and JBL tapped out.
WINNER VIA SUBMISSION: THE UNDERTAKER[/u]
Tazz: Oh my god Cole, how can Randy Orton compete with that? He wasn’t even on the show tonight!!
Cole: Things aren’t looking good for our World Heavyweight Champion, just look at the bloodied from the mouth JBL lay motionless in the ring.
