I always thought the "ELITIST" attitude was to HATE Brock Lesnar. You know... because he's a pro wrestler, and all. I meant it as Mr Bartowski there himself has an elitist attitude...no ones opinion but his own matters..and if you have a difference of opinion it is wrong, and he will go to the ends of the Earth to prove your OPINION is wrong and simply because its not the same as his.... thats an "elitist". Just think it is funny that Mir is being talked about as if he is an elite fighter. He is being talked about with fighters like Randy Couture and Nog...and yes as much as you hate it the UFC champion Brock Lesnar. Once this little tournament is over you will never see Frank Mir ever come close to a title shot. actually its funny how Lesnar is being talked about as if he is an ELITE fighter..which so far he is not. and no I dont hate that he is champion..he won..fair and square..cant hate on that..I was pissed he got a title shot with a 2-1 record. Funny how you argue about things I didn't even say...I never said Brock was an elite HW...but he is the UFC HEAVYWEIGHT Champion. So he will be fighting top competition regardless if you agree that he should be fighting them or not. He will be mentioned with all the top guys until he loses the belt...get over it.

I'm not at all telling you your opinion is wrong. In a debate, you have to have a basis for your argument. You never have one.
Your argument is Brock Lesnar didn't deserve a title shot because he only won one fight and got his shot.
My response to that was - Name someone else that deserved the shot Lesnar received.
Your response was - "Failed insult, failed insult, failed insult"
If there was ANYONE else to put in the title shot against Randy in November, I would agree that Lesnar didn't deserve his shot so soon and that he got is SOLEY based on the fact that it was ONLY a money fight. The problem is...there was NO ONE else to fight Couture.
Who in the WORLD is saying he's an elite fighter? You make stuff up. No one on this board, and no MMA outlet I've ever read has put Lesnar as an elite fighter yet.
All you do is make up stuff that no one says, or make up arguments. I say there was no other choice, so why not Lesnar and you turn that into -- "MIR DESERVES A SHOT, STOP SAYING HE DOESN'T!" when I've never said he didn't.
What I've said (numerous times) is that Frank Mir beat Lesnar (in his UFC debut) and Antoni Hardonk (a can). Brock Lesnar beat Heath Herring (a legit HW and at that time was ranked in the top 10-15 HW in the world) If Frank Mir deserves a shot...so does Lesnar. That does NOT say Mir doesn't deserve a shot...

Back on topic: I always thought the "ELITIST" attitude was to HATE Brock Lesnar. You know... because he's a pro wrestler, and all. How and when did the Brock Lesnar advocates get labeled as elitists, and how do all the true MMA elitists feel about their new label-mates? LoL, well said.

I just personally don't see why people are so high on Lesnar. It's obviously not bad considering he's the champion now, but that aside, he hasn't done much of anything for me to form an opinion on his real skills.

He won the UFC HW title, beating Randy Couture, in his 4th fight. I'd say that says a lot.

I realize that is saying something, but when it comes to in terms of his skills, I don't see how anyone can really form an opinion on him besides his power.

He's quickly picked up a pretty decent stand up game. He broke Heath Herrings orbital socket, he knocked out Randy Couture. The guys had 4 fights, he's beat a 10-15 HW, and one of the best HW in the world/one of the best fighters of all time. He's obviously improving and not making the same mistake he made against Mir. I don't see how you can say "With that aside" when it comes to being the UFC HW champion and beating Randy Couture. That's not just something you "put aside." Especially when you're 4 fights into your career.

Once again, that is something. Lesnar beating Couture for the Heavyweight title IS something. But besides that, I don't think he has shown his full potential so in my opinion, I don't see how anyone can form a full opinion on him. I can see if he has had hard fights and gone 5 full rounds, that's fine. But he has only gone a full 3 before.

"Aside" from that is something you say if Lesnar just went out and beat Eddie Sanchez, not Randy Couture. I don't think he's reached his full potential either. In fact, no one thinks that. I also haven't seen anyone form a full opinion on him. Most of the time you read anything about Lesnar on these boards, or any article, etc...you hear "When he gets more experience, he's going to be very scary." This is a man who dwarfs most of the HW in the world, moves like a WW and is a decorated collegiate wrestler, who trains with a great camp at MMAA. With more fights, more training and more experience...Brock Lesnar could be one VERY scary opponent for anyone (yes, ANYONE...even Fedor)

I think Frank Mir thinks his ability is a lot better than it actually is. So what if he broke Tim Sylvia's arm to get his bjj black belt? Who gives a if he has Brock Lesnar tap out in his second fight? I guarantee that if Mir and Lesnar were to face off again, Lesnar wouldn't let that snake slither around to have him tap out again. Mir is an idiot and an egomaniac
