I'd have kept the card the same except have Savage win the Rumble and go on to face Bret in a tremendous WWF Title match where Bret barely retains his title, instantly giving him tons of credibility as champion.

nothing wrong with the card except the stupid way Macho Man got thrown out the ring - a flying "kick out" from yokozuna??! give me a break!

Id have left Yoko to win BUT would have had Bret retain against all odds and interference.
and hell yes-No Hogan flattening the new champ in 5 seconds.
I also like the idea about Savage and the flat out match-that could have been very very cool indeed.+1 for that notion

I'd keep the card the same except for Carlos Calon, Max Moon, Damien Demento, some japan wrestler, and one or two other guys who weren't WWF stars need to be replaced by guys who were in the promotion at the time - Doink, Crush, Mr Hughes, HBK, Razor Ramon, Bret Hart, Bossman, Bam Bam Bigelow, Stiener Brothers. Then I'd take the Bossman vs Bigelow and STiener Brothers vs Beverly Brothers off of the card and add Macho Man vs Undertaker and Ric Flair vs Mr Perfect career ending match (I'd really like for this match to happen at Wrestlemania 9, but its better at the Royal Rumble then on RAW), and I'd keep macho man, undertaker still in the rumble. only perfect and flair not in cause a career match is too important. and the unveiling of lex luger should of been at wrestlemania 9 not the rumble... but again id much rather ahve the career match at wrestlemania 9. yoko needs to win the rumble cause hogan running in and winning the belt is one of my favorite moments in wrestling history. hogan just needed to retire with the belt and the 93 king of the ring should of been the new generation whoever wins the tournement gets the title and either razor ramon, hbk, bret hart or mr perfect should of won. bret hart has enough title reigns so hbk and razor ramon are highest on that list for me. yoko as 1 time champ is fine, but not a whoile year of being champ and not twice. what about the bad guy razor ramon? or hbk!! dam n...

I thought the undercard was pretty solid, but the rumble sucked.
Steiners vs. Beverlys. Ok, so the Beverlys aren't really brothers, but I thought the concept of a brothers vs. brothers tag match was pretty cool. foregone conclusion and not the best match ever, but served its purpose of getting the Steiners over.
Shawn vs. Marty. a good match, could have been alot better considering who was in there. Marty did have several close falls towards the end, I would imagine the crowd thought he had it with the DDT.
Boss Man vs. Bam Bam. Two of the better big man in the business, although that applies to Bam Bam when he was a face. His heel days sucked I thought. He was monster over as a face: anybody watch Survivor Series 87? Bam gotter a bigger pop than Hulk! No doubt Hogan did something to make sure that didn't happen again. Not the worst match ever, but Boss Man got little offense in. Served it's purpose of getting Bam Bam over.
Bret vs. Ramon. very good match, no complaints here. Having Ramon attack Owen to set this up was a wise move. I also liked how they gave Ramon a knee injury into the match, that was different. Usually the face gets injured in the match.
Rumble. bad. It wasn't easy trying to top the 92 rumble, which was one of the greatest matches ever, but I think they could have put on a decent rumble anyways. It was smart to have Flair as #1 as it could tease another epic victory and give him a shot to break his own record, but they had him in less than 20 minutes. In fact, alot of the better wrestlers were in for short periods. Why did Taker only get 3 minutes (not counting the time he spent laying on the mat) and Perfect only get about 7 minutes? They should have kept Flair at #1 but give Perfect the perfect number again (#30) and have him eliminate Flair shortly after he entered. They had Backlund as the long distance guy this time, but he wasn't over until he snapped on Bret Hart, so it became kind of pointless.
there were way too many tag wrestlers, non-over wrestlers and people that weren't even in the company at the time, which meant that only a few people had a chance of winning. Whereas the 92 Rumble was way open and you had no idea who would win (Flair, Hogan, Sid, Taker, Piper, Macho, Bulldog), this would had only a few that had any real shot of winning.
also, Macho wasn't involved in a high profile feud at the time, which made is entry a little anticlimatic. Notice when he goes in, he goes right after...Repo Man. What the..? Same thing with Earthquake, wasn't involved in a feud at the time to speak of.
anybody watch Tenyru? He wasn't really a participant, more of a spectator, just standing around watching all the activities and occasionally hitting people. He pretty much just hung around until it was his turn to go.
and what early 90's Rumble wouldn't be complete without that inevitable confrontation between Tito Santana and Rick Martel? always looked forward to that.
and I agree about the Macho/Yoko thing. Why would Macho even pin Yoko, it was a Rumble not a regular match.
and why did they only make one attempt to get rid of Yoko? they came close, but when it failed, they gave up and ignored him. ignoring him doesn' t make him go away and you have to get rid of him at some point. he hadn't even been knocked off his feet yet. they should have tied him up in the ropes and beat the crap out of him (it would have been legal too since its the rumble) and then ganged up on him and dump him.

The only thing I would have done differently is maybe replace Bigelow vs. Bossman with the Flair vs. Perfect Loser Leaves Town match they had on Raw the following night.
Randy Savage winning the Rumble match would have been exciting as far as setting up Hart/Savage at WrestleMania but they clearly had some big plans for Yokozuna at the time. Plus, it was a nice change of pace seeing a heel come out on top.
