So I was wondering today who you guys felt was historically more important.
Johnny Ace is credited as the inventor of the "cutter" maneuver. Laurinaitis has been credited for changing the match style of WCW, and later WWF, to emphasize greater ring psychology. This is often attributed to his experience in All Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he wrestled and was head foreign booker. The AJPW-style, perfected during the 1990s, emphasized among other things clean finishes, gradual build-up of "heat" (viewer tension), and multiple false finishes (when a wrestler, much to audience surprise, kicks out of what is usually a finishing move). All of these stylistic elements have increasingly been utilized in WCW/WWE matches.
Road Warrior Animal aka Joseph Aaron "Joe" Laurinaitis will always be in the annals of wrestling history for his significant impact on tag team wrestling alongside partner Road Warrior Hawk. They truly epitomized the brawling style which today is commonly utilized by the bigger sized competitors.
I personally feel that even though tag team history wouldn't have been the same without the road warriors, that Johnny Ace will have a longer lasting impression upon wrestling history, despite not being as widely known throughout the states as his brother.

Shouldn't this be more suited in the Classic Wrestling Board?
But anyways, I pick both.

I got too go with Ace. Animal in my eyes is what is bad about ROH right now. The false finished shouldn't be done as many times as it is in wwe and nowhere near as many times as ROH. With this impact it has caused many people too risk there lives doing riskier more appealing death defying stunts. Moves that can ruin young careers and end others.
Where as Ace invented a move that has been changed and is visually appealing yet isn't that dangerous. Its a move that protects the others face and lets you just fall too the matt and many can do this without getting hurt.

Animal, just because the LOD are arguably the greatest tag team ever and was a good (or bad) paradigm for very large green wrestlers to get over by not selling and just devouring the opponent. I feel that if Ace hadn't set up those matches, someone else would have figured it out.

I'm a genius!!"

Animal is arguable one of the greatest tag team wrestlers ever, and has the gold to prove it.
Johnny Ace, on the other hand, compensates for his own lack of popularity by releasing talented WWE superstars.
Animal all the way.

Im gonna say neither were really that effective on the sport. Sure Ace brought a more Puroresu type of wrestling to America but honestly until the cruiserweight invasion in ECW and WCW wrestling was the same ol stuff. Guys like Konnan, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio should be credited more. Sure it was Ace's idea but i would give more credit to the guys that did it then the guy that "created" it.
As for Animal, as much as I love the Road Warriors I cant say they did anything for tag team wrestling. Sure they dominated but guys like Midnight Express, Steiner Brothers, British Bulldogs and Hart Foundation were much more entertaining in the ring then the road warriors

Hmmm a member of the bniggest name tag team in the history of the sport, or his brother whose in ring career did very little including not being offered a WWE contract after a try-out. Has he really added that much to the product for the companies he has worked for apart from adding a few psychological twists he saw in Japan. Really I don't see what exactly Ace has done that is so great.
Animal all day, every day
