Anyone else think it's kinda stupid to put CM Punk in a tournament-esque scenario for a World title shot when he just won one for a shot at the Intercontinental champion? It's like they're trying to put the same eggs in different baskets, it just comes off fractured and silly to me. Obviously he's not going to win his match, and it makes his IC title shot look like a consolation prize.
Anyway, predictions on the winners? I believe the matches as stated on Raw are going to be:
Michaels vs Kane
Mysterio vs JBL
Batista vs Orton
Punk vs Jericho
I could see HBK winning, JBL losing, and then paying HBK for his spot in the 4-way.

I feel JBL may go through to face Cena at the Rumble, forgive me for saying but the rivalry between JBL & HBK looks like it will be good long feud and with twists and turns. Whatever happens I'd like to see this feud culminate at Mania, perhaps even with the WHC involved. Say JBL beat's Cena at Rumble and HBK win's the Rumble whilst being JBL's right hand man, it would be interesting.

A good way for them to fix it up would be to have Punk cut a promo about how he sees this as an opportunity for him to become the first superstar in RAW history to win both the IC and the World Belt's on the same night. (assuming the IC Championship match is at the Royal Rumble.). Punk doesn't necessarily have to win the tournament, but cutting a promo with this story would keep him from seeming like an obvious filler participant. |

But even then, it still makes the IC title look crapty because it's like he failed in the bigger part of the plan (which is inevitable when you have a guy going after THE title and a lesser title at the same time). It's just a shame to me, because the tournament and the Punk/Regal thing has done quite a good job in my eyes of making the Intercontinental belt seem important again. And now all of a sudden, the main contender for it is taking a detour to try and win a real title as well. |

With JBL taking HBK's spot... Mysterio will be the underdog in the Fatal 4 way.
Mysterio beats JBL again. Orton takes out Mysterio. Orton takes out Jericho.
ORTON wins.

Whoever the winner is, i can see them beating Cena at the Rumble. We all know that the Rumble is the place where they usually try and push new talent in the main event. But,everyone besides Punk are vets.
So, i think whoever wins will beat Cena, to play out an angle in the bigger picture of WrestleMania.
Most people think it will be Cena/Tista II at WM, which i think we will get, but not for a world title.
