I haven't read this for a while, as I've been pretty busy with school and all. Anyway, here is for your last ECW.
- Finlay over Goldman in the TV Title tournament is great, but the handshake between them could have just been in the ring. - Good segment with Swagger/Burke/Hardy. I'd like to see Swagger win the TV Title tournament. - Good match with Bourne and Chavo, thankfully Bourne won. - Can't wait for Thorn to come back. - Nice Dirt Sheet. - Burke winning by cheating was nice. Hopefully Burke Vs. Hardy for the ECW title soon.

-WWE has reported that three Superstars have been suspended 30 days for violating the Wellness Policy. Those Superstars are... -Hardcore Holly -Vladimir Kozlov -R-Truth -Expect another match to be added to No Way Out, this Friday on Smackdown! As well as one final one added on Raw. -When MVP returns to action, the WWE plan on slowly turning him into a monster face, and they like Mr. Kennedy better as a heel so expect a heel turn for him. -The WWE is very happy with the reaction Gail Kim got when she returned on Smackdown! last week. Expect her to be involved at WrestleMania 25 somehow.

R-Truth suspended makes me sad. Finlay winning was good. A fan of Cabanna but not a fan of Goldman. Bourne/Guerrero looked really good and I am glad Bourne won. Main Event was real solid. A pretty good ECW show.

February 6th, 2009 EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah
Smackdown opened tonight with a video package showing last week’s announcement of the eight man tag match at No Way Out, then the happenings of the six man tag main event.
Jim Ross and Tazz introduce us to the show and tell us that tonight we’ll witness a first time ever match between “The Phenom” The Undertaker and the “Samoan Bulldozer” Umaga.
Edge’s theme music hits the loudspeakers as he and Vickie Guerrero come out to boos. Edge gets on the microphone and begins to talk about last week. He replays the footage of Jeff Hardy knocking him out with a chair. He says that he wants a piece of Jeff tonight. This brings out Shane McMahon who says that if Edge wants some of Jeff, he’s pretty sure Jeff will glad to give it to him. But, as General Manager, he can’t have them face each other in a one-on-one match before their big match at WrestleMania. So tonight it will be Jeff teaming with his brother Matt Hardy to take on Edge and Elijah Burke. Edge seemed pretty satisfied at the news as we go to commercial.
Commercial Break.
Triple Threat Match Carlito w/ Primo vs. Harry Smith w/ TJ Wilson vs. Zack Ryder w/ Curt Hawkins
This match included one of the WWE Tag Team Champions and two members of the teams that are their top contenders. Carlito looked impressive early on as he used his springboard high flying offense to take down his opponents. Smith took the offensive when he used a flurry of suplexes. He hit Ryder with a German suplex and Carlito with the delayed vertical suplex. Towards the end of the match, Ryder began to do his part when he hit a sitout facebuster and a Russian legsweep. TJ Wilson got on the apron as a distraction but Primo pulled him down and they began to brawl. Carlito got up and hit Smith with the Back Stabber, but with the referee trying to kick out Primo and Wilson, Hawkins snuck into the ring and he and Ryder hit Carlito with a Double Spear. Hawkins slid out and brought the referee in the ring, who counted the three.
Winner: Zack Ryder (9:06) **¾
Primo and Wilson kept brawling on the ramp while Hawkins and Ryder celebrated in the ring.
We now go to the back where we see Mr. Kennedy enter Shane & Vickie’s office. He says that if he wins tonight, he should be given a United States Title match. Shane says that Kennedy has a legitimate argument because Hurricane Helms is the current number one contender and if Kennedy can beat him, he’ll be in contention quickly. Kennedy then mentions again that he wants to know when MVP is coming back, so he can get his hands on him. Vickie then says that she just got off the phone with MVP’s agent and the new contract he was given starts at No Way Out. So MVP will make his return at No Way Out. Kennedy smirks at this.
Commercial Break.
Divas Match Gail Kim vs. Victoria
Victoria and Natalya don’t seem to be very good friends now as they don’t accompany each other to the ring, but Natalya was on commentary here. Kim looked very impressive here and showed no ring rust whatsoever. This was one of the better Divas matches in a long time as these are two of the better female wrestlers in the business. The finish of this came when Kim leaped off the rope and his Victoria with a flying hurricanrana for the victory.
Winner: Gail Kim (6:27) **½
Commercial Break.
As we return from commercial, we see The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson in the back. Kendrick cuts a very good promo talking about how his transformation into The Brian Kendrick has set his career on a path to superstardom. He talked about despite all his recent success, there’s one thing missing from him, and that’s Championship gold. He knows that Hurricane Helms is the number one contender to the United States Title, but once Helms gets his shot, Kendrick promises to be next in line and become the United States Champion.
Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder meet up with Edge, who was talking to Chavo, and they celebrate Ryder’s victory. Edge tells them that winning was good, and that if they win back the WWE Tag Team Titles and Edge takes back his WWE Title, they, along with Vickie will rule Smackdown! once again. Chavo adds in that he could win the US Title and they could really rule all. Edge looks at Chavo and says “just like you’re going to win the TV Title on ECW?” Chavo looks upset at this as Edge, Hawkins and Ryder walk away.
Triple H is interviewed in the back by Eve. He says that he’s not booked to wrestle tonight, and to make matters worse, he is barred from ringside during the Umaga/Undertaker match. He said that he seems to have nothing to do tonight, but he’ll make sure to have an impact somehow tonight.
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match Edge & Elijah Burke vs. The Hardy Boyz
This was a bit of a preview for the big eight man tag match at No Way Out. The Hardyz obviously worked better together as they are the more experienced team. They used Poetry in Motion and a double leg drop as a part of their double team repertoire. Burke, the only member of this match who has never been a Tag Team Champion, looked a little off but he still managed to hit his signature spots. The finish here came when Jeff went for the Whisper in the Winds, but Edge pulled the referee to look away from Jeff, which allowed Elijah Burke to nail him in the head with a steel chair behind the referee’s back. Edge picked him up and nailed him with the Edgecution.
Winners: Edge & Elijah Burke (13:33) ***
After the match, Burke brought the chair in the ring and went to nail Matt with is, but he ducked and dropped him with a Twist of Fate as Edge left the ringside area.
Commercial Break.
Backstage, we see Elijah Burke walk up to Edge and complain that Edge shouldn’t have left him to get hit with a Twist of Fate. Edge said he doesn’t care about Burke or anybody. Burke reminds him that they have to be teammates at No Way Out and they have a common enemy in the Hardy Boyz. Edge thinks about it as Burke walks away.
Singles Match Hurricane Helms vs. Mr. Kennedy
As we know, this was basically turned into a number one contender’s match earlier when Kennedy asked for a US Title shot. Both men had their fans, although the crowd was more behind Helms. Kennedy worked a slow style of match early on, using rest holds and working on Helms’ neck. Helms managed to fight back when he nailed Kennedy with a big superkick. Helms hit him with a flurry of moves and finally connected with the Nightmare on Helms Street for the win.
Winner: Hurricane Helms (11:54) ***¼
We now see the United States Champion, Shelton Benjamin, watching on a monitor backstage. He’s approached by Shane McMahon who tells him that before his match, Hurricane Helms spoke to him. Shane says that they talked about the US Title and that he granted Helms a Title match at No Way Out. Shelton doesn’t seem worried or upset and says “that’s fine by me” and walks away.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Umaga vs. The Undertaker
This was an exciting first time ever bout. Both men hit each other with stiff shots. Umaga hit a Samoan Drop and a diving heabutt, while ‘Taker hit the Old School and a running DDT. Umaga slowed down the match when he locked ‘Taker in a nerve hold. He managed to get out of it after a while and he knocked Umaga to the outside. ‘Taker then hit his signature over the top rope suicide dive. The match continued for a little bit longer until Umaga went for the Samoan Spike, but ‘Taker grabbed Umaga’s arm before it could reach him. He overpowered him, kicked him in the stomach and hit the Last Ride powerbomb for the win.
Winner: The Undertaker (16:34) ****
Post match, Umaga began to walk up the ramp to leave and he’s met by Triple H who runs out and begins to brawl with the big man. ‘Taker looks on as they fight all the way to the back. Undertaker gets a microphone. He says that he’s tired of all these sneak attacks when the lights cut off and he’s going to get to the bottom of it. He says that he wants whoever’s doing all of it, to meet him face to face at No Way Out so he can make them Rest in Peace. The crowd likes the sound of that, but suddenly the lights go out. When they come on, ‘Taker is once again laid out, but this time, he’s been bloodied and that’s the last image we see before the show goes off the air.

Taker/Umaga sounds pretty big for TV. Edge/Burke vs. Hardyz seems like a good match as well. Good idea to do a 3-way match with three teams being represented. Hopefully MVP beats Kennedy. Gail/Victoria seems like a pretty good match, and glad Gail won. TBK for US Champ? Maybe. I liked Chavo trying to get in his line about himself at the end, but the others shrugging him off. Glad Edge/Burke won, although this match could have been saved actually for No Way Out where it's just a tag team match. Helms winning is ok, but I hope Shelton retains, unless you push him beyond the US Title. Taker winning was good, although that doesn't do any favors for Umaga. Liked Taker issuing the challenge for NWO, and then getting attacked. You have me interested as to what is behind it. Solid show.

Shane O... Cool to see MVP making his return. Glad Helms got a win over Kennedy. Edge&Burke vs. Hardy's was interesting. Taker/Umaga is a huge main event, maybe too huge for SD. Wish it wouldn't have ended clean. NWO is looking really solid man. Can't wait to read it.

- Though I’m not a fan of Ryder I do like how he won. Hopefully The Edgeheads do not win the tag straps. Smith/Wilson are one hell of team and should get a run with them, I hope. - Kim and Victoria are two of the best. Nice win for Kim. - Good heel tactics by Edge/Burke to pick up the win. I was thinking Burke was going to eat the pin. - I’m really liking that your pushing Helms. Though, I thought he was better as Gregory Helms. Solid bout. - Hmm. I like Taker/Umaga but you could have played this off as the a first time meeting at a PPV. I would have expected a DQ finish or something. - Nice way to end the show, but I don’t think Taker would cut a promo of more than five words. At least not the dead man gimmick. - Interested to see who is attacking him. - Overall, average show. But still a show that wasn’t boring by any means. Like pushing Burke and Helms. - No Way Out is looking fantastic.

February 9th, 2009 Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon
Raw’s weekly video package is shown and we see highlights of the beating our World Champion, John Cena suffered at the hands of Chris Jericho, JBL and Legacy last week.
This week’s Raw opens with the music of the lovely General Manager, Stephanie McMahon. She makes her way to the ring and gets on the microphone. She says that we’ve all heard that tonight would feature some matches that include the six superstars in the Elimination Chamber, but she hasn’t announced the matches or match types exactly. She said the six men would be meeting in three separate one on one contests, drawn at random, and they will serve as triple main events. The first match would be between Shawn Michaels and the up and coming, Cody Rhodes! The second match, which will be our first hour main event, will be between JBL and Batista. This leaves the third match to be between Chris Jericho and Randy Orton. She then announces that yes, John Cena cannot wrestle for 2-3 weeks, but he is in the building tonight and will be the special guest referee for the Jericho/Orton match!
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Cody Rhodes w/ Manu vs. Shawn Michaels w/ JBL
Before the match, Michaels was arguing with JBL all the way to the ring. From what the cameras could pick up, Michaels was upset over the fast count last week. Onto the match, which was actually really good. Rhodes has the surprising upper hand early, using his speed and knowledge of the mat game. His confidence grew with each move he hit. After a while of this, Michaels began to rally back as he hit his flying forearm and nipped up. He began to tune up the band but Manu grabbed his ankle. JBL got around the ring and dropped Manu with a Clothesline from Hell. Michaels looked surprised at this and turned into Rhodes, who hit a DDT but only got a two count. Rhodes then set up Michaels for his new finisher, a spinning reverse DDT, but Michaels backed Rhodes into the turnbuckle. As Rhodes came out of the turnbuckle, Michaels met him with Sweet Chin Music.
Winner: Shawn Michaels (10:54) ***¾
Commercial Break.
Legacy is shown backstage. Randy Orton is screaming at Manu for messing up and allowing JBL to take him out. He said that he doesn’t want Rhodes or Manu out there during his match tonight. They both look upset at the news as Orton walks away.
Divas Match Beth Phoenix w/ Santino Marella vs. Mickie James
As usual with these two ladies, this was a very good encounter. They both used their signature moves and did their usual spots. Mickie went for her hurricanrana in the corner, but Beth used her power to stop the momentum of the move, and nail Mickie with a powerbomb. She picked Mickie up and hit her with the Glam Slam for the win.
Winner: Beth Phoenix (4:51) **
Beth Phoenix picked up Mickie and hit her with another Glam Slam. This brought out the Women’s Champion, Melina, who went toe-to-toe with Beth and eventually knocked her out of the ring to the crowd’s delight.
Commercial Break.
Chris Jericho is shown backstage walking. He runs into Cody Rhodes, who still looks upset about Orton not wanting him or Manu to go out there with him tonight. Jericho begins to tell him that Orton should be overjoyed that he has someone as talented as Cody to watch his back. He says a few more things like that and Cody looks on, concerned.
Singles Match Batista vs. John “Bradshaw” Layfield w/ Shawn Michaels
This wasn’t a very good match. Both men looked sluggish tonight as unlike Rhodes and Michaels, they didn’t bring their A game and seemed more focused on getting to No Way Out. JBL controlled the early portion of the match, but Batista worked his way back to taking the advantage with a huge spinebuster. He taunted the crowd by shaking the ropes and then set up for the Batista Bomb. But Shawn Michaels got on the apron. Batista grabbed Michaels, who pushed him away, and Batista turned right into a Clothesline From Hell.
Winner: John “Bradshaw” Layfield (8:24) **¼
After the match JBL gave Michaels a handshake in the middle of the ring and as they left, Batista began to get up and he looked furious.
Commercial Break.
We are now shown a video that reminds us that WrestleMania 25 is just under 8 weeks away. Starting tonight, we will announce another inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. This week’s inductee is none other than the “Rattlesnake” Stone Cold Steve Austin! He will be inducted by his good friend, Jim Ross.
Non-Title Tag Team Match World Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz vs. The Technicians w/ Kelly Kelly
The Technicians were the best they’ve been since they began teaming up. They used a few double team moves including a double hip toss and double suplex. The champs fought back with their own double team moves and Morrison hitting his corkscrew split-legged moonsault. The end of this came when Miz went for the Reality Check but Haas caught his knee and dropped him to the mat and locked on the Haas of Pain. Morrison didn’t see any of this as he was turned towards the crowd celebrating because he thought Miz had hit the Reality Check, but Miz was actually tapping out.
Winners: The Technicians (8:11) **¾
After the match, The Miz was mad at John Morrison, who apologized and reminded Miz that they were the best team of the 21st Century. He said they were going to keep their Titles no matter what.
In the back we see CM Punk walking towards the arena.
Commercial Break.
We come back from the commercial to see our Intercontinental Champion, CM Punk make his way to the announce table as he will be on commentary for the upcoming match.
Singles Match Paul Burchill w/ Katie Lea Burchill vs. Rey Mysterio
These two men didn’t get much time in this match, but they did put on a solid showing. Burchill used his strength to work over Mysterio early on. Mysterio fought back with his usual array of fast paced offense. He hit his signature splash off the top but Burchill kicked out. He then hit a drop toe hold and went for the 619 but Burchill moved and nailed him with a back breaker. He picked him up for a powerbomb, but Mysterio reversed it into a DDT. At this point, Mike Knox ran down and proceeded to hit Mysterio with the Knox Out.
Winner by DQ: Rey Mysterio (7:34) **¾
CM Punk got into the ring and went after Knox but Burchill cut him off and began to beat on him. Knox left the ring while inside, Burchill dropped Punk with the C4.
In the back, we see The Technicians talking to Stephanie McMahon. She says that they earned a World Tag Team Title shot and they will get it this Sunday at No Way Out! They celebrate the news and walk out of her office. John Cena walks into her office and wants to know why she put him as the special referee of a match involving two of the men who injured him last week. He said that she better know that if Jericho or Orton get out of line he will put them down with the FU. She says for him to just go out there and do what he does best.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton Special Referee: John Cena
This was the second best match of the night, behind only the Cody Rhodes/Shawn Michaels match that opened the show. Despite both men being heels, the crowd was split between them. Orton hit his over the back neckbreaker while Jericho hit his lionsault. They went back and forth and Cena called the match right down the middle. Jericho nailed Orton with an enziguri and then went for the Walls of Jericho but Orton quickly got to the ropes. Jericho hit the Codebreaker but Orton kicked out and Jericho got mad at Cena despite a fair count from Cena. Jericho turned around into an RKO from Orton and he kicked out. Orton started to argue with Cena despite the fair count again. Cena got angry and nailed Orton with an FU, waited for Jericho to get up and nailed him with an FU as well.
No Contest (10:26) ***½
Cena was pumped up but Cody Rhodes and Manu made their down to the ring. Cena fought them off for a while, but the numbers game proved to be too much. This brought out Batista who began to rumble with Legacy. Cena rolled out of the ring, and Orton had just got up from the FU. He went outside, grabbed a chair and nailed Cena in the back with it. JBL and Shawn Michaels came out to the ramp and Michaels wanted to get involved but JBL held him back and told him to wait until Sunday.

RAW was good, but there were a few things that I just didn't like. I'm interested in seeing how things go without Cena for a few weeks, I always enjoy seeing how people handle injurys. I'm really interested with the latest Michaels/ JBL feud development, good to see Michaels going over. I'm really not fussed on the Beth/ Melina feud, since I just don't see Melina losing the title. I didn't like the JBL/ Batista match, I just doubt it would be any good, but nice to see Michaels getting involved. I'm really surprised that the Technicians got the win, but it's nice to see two talents getting a good push. Mysterio/ Burchill was a good match, and I'm really hoping to see Burchill with the IC title down the line. The main event was a little short for my liking, and the fact that Cena fought off the Legacy for any period of time despite being injured just seems like selective booking.

Good idea to have the EC superstars face off. HBK-Rhodes was a wise choice to kick off the show, and the right man won. Ok stuff with the women. I like Jericho sort of trying to win over Cody. Surprised Batista lost, but it was due to HBK so it doesn't hurt him that much. Technicians winning made sense, although I think Miz/Morrison make better champs for now. I hope you can find some good reason behind Knox/Mysterio. Nice way for the show to end, and it stops either one from jobbing. Nice show.

Liked the announcement and should make for alot of good matches for Raw. Rhodes/HBK actually looked pretty good. I'm liking this push Rhodes is getting even though I'm not a fan of his. Batista/JBL is meh, been done soo many times. Suprsied Batista lost. Main Event was great, two of my favs. Glad there was no ending to the match.

This is one of my favorite diaries going right now, Kev. I'm happy that you decided to change up the format. It truly makes everything look so much better. The No Way Out card looks awesome so far. I'd love to see Cody Rhodes win the Elimination Chamber, but the odds of that happening are very slim. I really like where you're going with this so far. Keep up the good work.

February 10th, 2009 Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho
We see the opening video package showcasing last week’s edition of ECW. It shows Elijah Burke stealing the victory in the Fatal Four Way and shows Evan Bourne and Finlay advancing into the semi-finals of the TV Title Tournament.
As usual, the award winners, Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome us to this week’s ECW and inform us that tonight, Elijah Burke has challenged the ECW Champion, Matt Hardy to a fight. Not a wrestling match, but a fight. That should be interesting and they also remind us that the semi-finals of the TV Title Tournament will take place.
Semi-Finals of the TV Title Tournament Evan Bourne vs. DJ Gabriel w/ Alicia Fox
Gabriel began this match, wanting a dance off with Bourne, but Bourne went straight to work. He had Gabriel in the corner and connected with some kicks to the mid section, followed by a kick to the head. Gabriel took control a little later when he hit a double underhook suplex but only got a two count. These two went back and forth for a little bit until Bourne took complete control with a move he used on the indies, a pumphandle half nelson driver. He covered but got a near fall. He went to the top and hit his diving knee drop on Gabriel and got the three count.
Winner: Evan Bourne (8:58) ***
We cut to the back to see the ECW Champion, Matt Hardy, arriving at the arena and he is told by an official, that Elijah Burke has challenged him to a fight tonight. He says that’s actually great news as he wants to get his hands on Burke.
Commercial Break.
We come back from commercial to see Mark Henry and Tony Atlas barge into Teddy Long’s office. They demand to know why Henry still has not received a title shot. Long says that he lost his non-title match with Hardy and he got pinned last week so Long can’t do anything to help him. Henry then promises to get his ECW Title back, no matter what.
Tag Team Match Johnny Curtis & Tyler Reks vs. The Second City Saints
With both Goldman & Steel eliminated from the TV Title Tournament, they went back to teaming up and their first opponents are the reigning FCW Tag Team Champions, Tyler Reks & Johnny Curtis. Reks & Curtis lost to Cryme Tyme on Velocity last week, but did put up a good fight as they did here tonight. The Saints were just too good and at the end of the match, they took over. Steel hit the Steel Spike on Reks, tagged in Goldman, and knocked Curtis off the apron. Goldman locked on the Chicago Crab and Reks had no choice but to tap out.
Winners: Second City Saints (7:07) **½
Commercial Break.
Semi-Finals of the TV Title Tournament Finlay w/ Hornswoggle vs. Jack Swagger
Finlay looked to shut up the brash youngster and be the first to pin him. He was on his way to doing just that early on when he back Swagger into the corner and began to deliver lefts and rights and got him sitting down. He then ran his hip right into Swagger’s face. Finlay kept on the aggressive until Swagger nailed a belly-to-belly suplex, followed by a Northern lights suplex but only got a two count. Swagger rolled up Finlay a little while after and put his feet on the ropes but Hornswoggle knocked them off. Swagger began to chase him around the ring, eventually caught him, and launched him into the announce table. Finlay got upset at this and pulled Swagger back into the ring. He began to beat on him and set him up for the Celtic Cross, but Swagger dropped down and rolled him up for the win.
Winner: Jack Swagger (10:16) ***¼
Commercial Break.
We are shown another video package about the return of Kevin Thorn.
Grisham & Striker then remind us of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin being the first announced inductee into the 2009 Hall of Fame class. They show a video highlighting Austin’s career and then announce that current Hall of Famer Jim Ross will be inducting him.
Commercial Break.
Elijah Burke comes down to the ring in street clothes and he has his fists taped up. He gets on the microphone and says that he came to ECW tonight for one thing and that one thing is a fight. He calls out Matt Hardy, who answers, and he is also in his street clothes. Once Matt gets in the ring the two men start to brawl. Burke has the upper hand with straight fists, due to his background as a boxer. Matt takes the advantage with a kick to Burke’s gut and he clotheslines Burke to the outside. They brawl for a few minutes until Matt has Burke laid across the announce table. He gets on the ring apron and prepares to jump off and leg drop Burke through the table, but Edge runs down with a chair in hand, and nails Matt in the legs. This caused Matt to drop to the ground, where Edge nailed him with the chair a few more times. Edge then grabbed the ECW Title and threw it at Burke who was just getting up. Burke held the belt but looked confused as Edge walked off.
