Well this is very intresting, you have become very good in the time you have been here, well done, I must however say about your mania card so far, there is nothing really that stands out like a OMG Mania match, Orton/Cena has it but Hardy/Edge not for me, don't de-push Knox I still like him, graphics are insanley awsome, MVP/Taker at mania? meh again not a mania style match, Birchill was in the Chamber loving the push, helms is champ woo! Not sure bout TV title both Evan and Swagger shoule be shooting for the belt, good luck and keep this up

February 16th, 2009 HP Pavilion in San Joe, California Attendance: 18, 722
We open with a video package showing Randy Orton winning the Elimination Chamber last night to become the number one contender to John Cana’s World Heavyweight Title at Wrestle Mania 25.
Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole welcome us to Raw tonight and go over last night’s events. They announce a four way tag team match tonight and they also inform us that JBL and Shawn Michaels will have a face to face confrontation tonight.
They are cut off by the music of our chairman, Vince McMahon, who we haven’t seen since his accident seven months ago at the end of Raw. He gets on the microphone and says that it’s great to be back. He talks about how while he’s been away, he witnessed his daughter do a fine job of running Raw and his son do a fine job of co-running Smackdown. But, he saw something last night that he just can’t ignore. He calls out the new number one contender, Randy Orton. The three members of Legacy make their way to the top of the ramp. McMahon says that last night, Orton won the Elimination Chamber, but he didn’t do it the right way. True, the Elimination Chamber is a No DQ match, but in McMahon’s opinion, Batista and Chris Jericho got screwed out of their chance at WrestleMania 25’s main event when Cody Rhodes and Manu attacked them and helped Orton secure victory. So, Mr. McMahon has officially made a Triple Threat main event for tonight. It will be Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Chris Jericho with the winner going on to WrestleMania 25 and getting a World Heavyweight Title shot. Orton was furious at the announcement and Mr. McMahon said that anybody who interferes in that match will be fired on the spot.
Commercial Break.
Mr. McMahon enters his daughter’s office and they embrace. She said that his idea for the main event tonight is great. He thanks her and said that from now on, they will be the co-GMs for the Raw brand. They sit back and get ready to enjoy tonight’s edition of Raw.
Divas Tag Team Match Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix & Katie Lea Burchill w/ Santino Marella vs. Melina & Mickie James
Actually, this turned out to be an awesome divas tag match as these are four very accomplished divas. Beth and Katie were dominating the early stages as they took it to Mickie. Mickie got in some decent offense, but every time she seemed close to a tag, her opponents would stop her. Finally, Mickie got to make the tag and Melina came in firing. She knocked down both of her opponents and set up Katie for her finisher but Santino distracted the referee. This allowed Beth to get in the ring and knock out Melina with the Women’s Title. Beth then nailed Mickie and this allowed Katie Lea to make the cover.
Winners: Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix & Katie Lea Burchill (5:14) **½
We now see Legacy in the back. Randy’s still furious about tonight’s main event and tells Cody that he needs to get Legacy off to a good start tonight when he takes on ECW’s Tommy Dreamer in a Money in the Bank qualifier. Rhodes says no problem and for Randy not to worry. There’s a reason why he & Manu look up to Orton and it’s because he’s the best. Orton seems more confident after this.
Commercial Break.
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match Cody Rhodes w/ Manu vs. Tommy Dreamer
Rhodes looked very impressive in this one as he carried Dreamer to a decent match. He wanted to be back on the winning track after losing in the Elimination Chamber last night and he showed it early by starting this match aggressively. He worked over Dreamer for a while and hit him with a knee drop. He went to the top rope, where he surprised everybody by nailing a moonsault but Dreamer kicked out. Dreamer ended up with the upper hand for a little bit and went for his DDT, but Cody escaped and nailed him with his Rolling Cutter.
Winner: Cody Rhodes (6:09) **
Backstage, we see The Technicians. Charlie Haas is telling a frustrated Jamie Noble that he shouldn’t worry too much about their loss last night. He says that they’re still pretty new as a team and despite being inexperienced, they came very close to walking out of No Way Out as the new World Tag Team Champions. Noble seems to cheer up when Kelly gives him a kiss and reminds him that they have a chance to get back into contention in their match tonight.
Commercial Break.
As we come back from commercial, we get the announcement of the next inductee to the 2009 Hall of Fame class. It turns out to be none other than the late Owen Hart. It is the announced that his brother, Bret Hart, will be inducting him.
After the video package for Owen is over, Michael Cole announces the first guest celebrity for WrestleMania 25 and it is the first of four bands that will perform that night. It is Saliva, which will perform Batista’s theme at WrestleMania 25.
Commercial Break.
JBL’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring. He says that he’s not in a good mood. He’s not in a good mood because his client, Shawn Michaels, cost him a shot at the World Title at WrestleMania. He calls out HBK, who comes out and says that the only reason he superkicked JBL, was because JBL Clotheslined him and eliminated him. Michaels announces that he’s tired of playing by JBL’s rules. He said that he wants out of his contract with JBL and that he will do anything to get out of it. JBL thinks about it for a few, and then says that he has an idea. He said that after Michaels’ actions last night, he wants nothing more than to rid him of his contract. But it will come at a price. He said that he wants a match with Michaels at WrestleMania 25. If Michaels wins, JBL will pay the rest of his contract in full and he won’t ever have to work for JBL again. Michaels says he likes that idea. JBL adds that if he wins, he would also terminate Michaels’ contract, but Michaels would have to retire on the spot. Michaels is reluctant, but he agrees. JBL says that until ‘Mania, Michaels is still under his contract and he puts Michaels in a match right now.
Singles Match Shawn Michaels vs. William Regal w/ Layla
With these two being very good in ring competitors, this match turned out to be very good. Regal took advantage of the fact that HBK wasn’t prepared to be in action tonight and that led to him owning the early portions of this match. He hit a few European uppercuts and a few different types of suplexes. HBK began to make his comeback when he nailed Regal with a flying forearm and then kipped-up. He then hit a piledriver and atomic drop. HBK followed that up by going to the top and attempting his flying elbow drop, but Regal moved out of the way. Regal then went for the Regal Stretch, but HBK managed to reach the ropes quickly. Regal then grabbed him but HBK wriggled free and managed to lock Regal into his modified Figure Four until he tapped out.
Winner: Shawn Michaels (9:18) ***
Commercial Break.
In the back, we see Rey Mysterio enter Vince & Stephanie’s office. He tells them he’s extremely happy that he rid himself of his Mike Knox problem and he wants to move onto something else now. He said that next week, he wants to be in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. Stephanie agrees, and lets her father choose his opponent. Vince decides that Mysterio will take on The Miz next week.
Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match Cryme Tyme vs. CM Punk & Kofi Kingston vs. The Technicians w/ Kelly Kelly vs. The Second City Saints
The winner of this match would basically gain instant contention for John Morrison and The Miz’s World Tag Team Titles. The champs were at ringside doing commentary. This was not an elimination match, so each team did their best to break up each and every pin attempt. Cryme Tyme didn’t look too good in this one as they were the only team to not shine. Punk and Kofi seemed on the verge of winning at one point, but Paul Burchill ran down and pulled Punk off the apron and threw him shoulder first into the steel steps. Kofi went to confront Burchill about this but Ace Steel rolled him up, yet only got a two. A few moments later, JTG and Scotty Goldman were the legal men and Goldman picked up the win with a modified back breaker. (Colt .45)
Winners: Second City Saints (10:11) ***
Chris Jericho is interviewed backstage by Todd Grisham. He says that he’s glad Mr. McMahon showed up and came to his senses and granted him another chance to go to WrestleMania. He asks what the main event would be without the reigning Superstar of the Year before walking off.
Commercial Break.
As we return from commercial, it is announced that next week on Raw, our World Champion John Cena will return to in ring action.
Triple Threat Match for World Title Shot at WrestleMania 25 Batista vs. Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton
No doubt match of the night as this was a very good Triple Threat. Batista got double teamed early on by his two heel opponents. This strategy was working until Jericho went for a cover, which Orton broke up, and this led to them fighting each other. After a few minutes of this Batista rejoined the action and began to beat on both men. This match went on for a really long time and took three commercial breaks in between. The crowd was into the match the entire time until Jericho nailed Orton with a Codebreaker. He began to brawl with Batista for a few until Batista drilled him with a spinebuster. Batista began to shake the ropes as Orton got up and he turned around and hit him with a Batista Bomb. He went for the cover but the bell rang before the referee could count.
Time Limit Draw (20:00) ***½
The crowd booed the announcement of a draw and they chanted for “five more minutes.” Batista looked very frustrated with the outcome as he was really close to victory. The three men looked on in disbelief as Raw went off the air with the announcers wondering what’s going to happen with the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 25.

I like Vince being back. Not sure about Orton having to put his spot on the line because it devalues the Chamber concept to begin with. Glad heels won the divas match. I like Cody as a dark horse candidate for the MITB match. JBL/HBK is a little underwhelming, but it makes sense for Mania. Interesting there to have HBK win via submission. Good call moving the SCS to Raw. Good cliffhanger finish to Raw, wonder where you will be going from there.

God I hope Jericho faces Cena and wins. I can see you go logically either of the other two though. Raw was pretty good, but I wasn't a fan of the time limit draw. I guess I like a clean winner, but then I'd be a hypocrite. This diary has my vote for the spotlight in feb man! Good luck!

This is still going good. Ill comment on No Way Out and bits of Raw for now.
No Way Out was good, Opener was good. Glad Bourne won he is a good choice for the midcard. Swagger I just feel needs more improving.
Knox vs. Mysterio wasn't too interesting. Just glad Mysterio got the win and glad you aren't going to push Knox anymore.
Surprised Beth won the title back in Melina's first defense and also Natalya helping her out. Glad Beth has won the title back and adding Natalya to Raw is a good choice and I hope she gets a push.
Glad MNM retained the Tag Titles. Noble & Hass are good but they still need more building up. Maybe in a month or two they will be ready to become Tag Champions.
MVP vs. Undertaker sounded good and glad MVP won. MVP is definitely in need of a push so I hope he can MITB at WM. Kane attacking Undertaker after the match was interesting and like you brought his mask back. Not too sure on this leading into Wrestlemania though since Taker & Kane has been done so many times. Plus Taker should win the match to keep his streak but Kane losing at WM again may be a bit too much.
Good win for Helms and glad to see him with a title belt. Plus Benjamin's reign was getting a bit too long. Hope Benjamin isn't de-pushed after this and has a nice run in the MITB match. Helms should be a good champion but I dont think it should be a long reign.
The 8 man tag was good. The faces winning makes sense and is very realistic. Triple H & Umaga fighting is alright and if you have them face off at WM or any other time please have Umaga go over and Triple H has beat him enough times.
The Elimination Chamber was good and Orton winning is great. Not sure on two punts to end it but I guess it makes Orton a big threat. JBL eliminating Shawn only for Shawn to take out JBL was good although too bad they have to face off at WM.
On Raw it was a good show. Not sure on McMahon forcing Orton to put his title match on the line, just seems like the EC was a waste. Plus since Time Limits have been gone from WWE for a while I thought that was a bit unrealistic. A draw I am guessing means either all three of them or Batista or Jericho will now face Cena which I think it should have been Randy Orton. If you dont go with Orton hope you have Batista/Cena II with Cena going over this time.
JBL/Michaels is alright although again I have not been a fan of the whole JBL/Michaels at WM idea but I guess it makes it different then the usual Michaels/Undertaker match. Shawn better beat JBL.
Finally MITB should be good hopefully it turns out to be Rhodes, Mysterio, MVP, Benjamin, Morrison, Bourne, Helms, and CM Punk.
Overall diary is still going strong as always and I cant wait to see more. Look forward to WM.

You have an interesting diary. You have a great layout and writing style. You have an amazing WrestleMania card that I'm looking forward to a lot. I'd like to see Chris Jericho win the World Title and some names like Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Legion of Doom or Ted DiBiase in the Hall of Fame. I'd be happy then . The JBL/HBK feud is excellent and well built. This has my vote for the Spotlight. Keep it up.

- Good main event for RAW. Hopefully Orton keeps his spot. - Katie Lea actually apart of a winning team? That’s pretty cool. Good match had glad the heels picked up a win. - I could never see Tommy Dreamer in the MITB. I like how your putting Rhodes in some top tier matches. - Liking the stipulation between JBL/HBK at Mania. That could have a lot of emotion with it. - Solid Regal/HBK match. Happy to see that Regal got some offense in and didn’t completely job out. - Second City Saints winning a title shot is awesome. Maybe have CM Punk join them turning on Kofi? - So, fatal four way at Mania 25. It is rare nowadays to see a time limit draw in the main event. I like that you did do that though. As long as Cena loses, I’ll be happy. - Overall, got everything geared up for Mania. Simple but effective show.

DJ Gabriel challenging for any title scares me. And I feel Evan Bourne should be challenging for the ECW Title instead of holding the TV Title. I look forward to Burke and Hardy possibly being on the show. Fire Thorn. I look forward to your results.

A good show man. This diary is def. underrated on this board. Raw was really good. Vince returning on Raw is pretty cool. I like the main event for the show. Rhodes getting in the MITB is ok, although I don't see a chance in him winning it. I have a feeling you will have MVP in it and win it. Liked the main event but didn't like the ending. I see a 4-way which I am not a fan of for Mania. Maybe you'll do something different though. Owen in the HOF is well deserved but def. unrealistic. Can't wait to see how you shape up the Mania card.

February 17th, 2009 HP Pavilion in San Jose, California Attendance: 18, 722
ECW opens with a video package showing Evan Bourne beating Jack Swagger at No Way Out to become the first Television Champion. It then cuts to showing highlights of Matt Hardy and Elijah Burke’s altercations during their eight man tag. The extreme announce team of Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome us to ECW tonight and remind us that we will witness the very first TV Title defense, as Evan Bourne will defend against one of the superstars he beat in the tournament, DJ Gabriel.
Matt Hardy’s theme music blasts over the speakers as our ECW Champion makes his way to the ring. He gets on the microphone and begins to talk about how he’s been in this business since he was very young, and how ever since he was a child, he’s bled wrestling. He mentioned that he paid his dues for years to be where he’s at. He said that Elijah Burke is brash and hasn’t earned anything, yet he believes that it is all owed to him. This brings out Burke who says that he doesn’t have to earn a damn thing or prove anything to Matt. He said that when he wins the ECW Title at WrestleMania 25, he will have become Champion within five years of wrestling, while Matt had to wrestle fifteen years to accomplish that. GM Teddy Long comes out and reminds Matt that he has the night off tonight. He says that Burke will be in action though and since he seems to have no respect for those who have paid their dues, he will take on a grizzled veteran tonight in the main event. He will go one on one with Finlay!
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Scotty Goldman w/ Ace Steel vs. Jack Swagger
Swagger requested this match because he saw that Goldman was doing a fine job in singles matches, despite being a tag wrestler and he felt that Goldman was a threat to getting a TV Title shot. Swagger feels that the TV Title is rightfully his. This was a very good match as both men looked very good in the ring. Goldman had the upper hand early on but Swagger took control eventually and finished it with the gutwrench powerbomb.
Winner: Jack Swagger (6:51) **¾
We now cut to the video showing that Owen Hart will be the second inductee into the 2009 Hall Of Fame.
Commercial Break.
As we return, our announcers remind us that the band Saliva will be at WrestleMania 25 to perform the theme music of “The Animal” Batista.
Singles Match Kevin Thorn vs. Ricky Ortiz
Thorn came back looking basically the same as he did when he first arrived in ECW. No more spiked hair for him. He dominated this match throughout and made Ortiz really look weak. Instead of using the crucifix bomb as his finisher, he now used the Original Sin to finish Ortiz.
Winner: Kevin Thorn (4:26) *¾
Mark Henry and Tony Atlas are shown backstage. They cut a promo about how Mark Henry will once again dominate ECW real soon.
Commercial Break.
We return from commercial and see Gavin Spears talking with Theodore Long. Spears says that he has a rough go so far in ECW and he hasn’t won a match yet. He said that he wants one more chance at a win next week. Long says that he’s all for the new superstar initiative and next week he gets a shot at a win against Ricky Ortiz, who has been in a slump as of late.
Television Championship Evan Bourne (c) vs. DJ Gabriel w/ Alicia Fox
This was Gabriel’s best match so far as it was just slightly better than the match these two had last week. Gabriel tried to use mat wrestling to keep the high flying Bourne on the ground and it worked for a few. Bourne fought back after a few minutes and got the advantage. He hit his diving knee drop, which he won last week with, but Gabriel kicked out this time. This led to Bourne working him over a little more and finally putting him away with the Shooting Star Press.
Winner and Still TV Champion: Evan Bourne (10:10) ***¼
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Elijah Burke vs. Finlay w/ Hornswoggle
This turned into a straight up fight midway through the match. Finlay seemed extra pissed off at Burke for him not respecting the veterans who have paid their dues. Finlay hit him with some stiff shots but Burke fired back with some of his own. They went back and forth for a while until Burke hit his Outer Limits elbow drop in the corner. He covered but only got a two count. Burke seemed frustrated and went for the Elijah Express but Finlay moved and nailed him with the Celtic Cross but somehow, Burke kicked out. Finlay picked him to hit it again, but Burke got out of it and nailed him with the Elijah Experience. (The Stroke)
Winner: Elijah Burke (10:03) **¾
After the match Burke pointed to the WrestleMania 25 logo and motioned that he was going be your next ECW Champion.

- Very good opening segment between Burke/Hardy. I’m really rooting for Burke to win the title at WM 25. - Swagger beating Goldman is good. I like that Swagger asked for the match as he wants *his* title. Like how your promoting Swagger. - Like how Thorn destroyed Ortiz. With Thorn having a mouthpiece, I’m expecting a decent push. - DJ/Bourne working a good match is pleasant sight. Bourne retaining is expected. Figuring your going to finish off this Bourne/Swagger rivalry. - Burke winning clean is fantastic. Great way to end the show. Like how your using Finlay as the veteran who is going to put the young guys in their place. - Overall. That was a pretty damn good ECW. Solid wrestling and this Burke/Hardy feud is looking really well.

Good opening segment to set up future stuff in the show. Really nice opening match. I hope Swagger ends up winning the TV Title from Bourne at some point in the future. Really glad Thorn is being used in ECW again. Good first defense from Bourne against someone who is not too high up on the card. Really nice win for Burke to close the show to gain some momentum. Certainly a good show for ECW standards.

ECW Was a solid show, Kev. Opening segment was well written and the build up to Matt Hardy vs Elijah Burke is going well, really hope that Elijah wins the ECW Championship at Wrestlemania 25. Opening match was pretty cool, I somewhat feel that you should name Ace Steel something else just to go with WWE seemingly renaming anyone new from their indy/fcw names. Thorn back is fantastic, was always a fan of the guy, I can't recall what "Original Sin" is, I am guessing it's the Stunner of the ropes thing he did on ECW when he first showed up. Thorn getting the win is great. Spears vs Ortiz next week sounds good, don't think highly of Ortiz but Spears was apperinitely a fantastic worker in FCW. Bourne defending the TV Title is good, always prefer a defending champion rather than a current day US title run by Shelton Benjamin. Plus, I am a fan of Gabriel, he is a solid british wrestler. Main event was fantastic, two great workers going at it. Finlay playing the defending the old school wrestlers kind of guy is cool. Right man won the match in the end, gives Elijah momentum leading up to Wrestlemania.

Good opening promo, it was executed alright, but it made Matt Hardy come off as the heel in his feud with Elijah Burke, bragging that Burke hasn't done anything to earn an ECW World Championship shot, Triple H used to say that when he was with Evolution. Jack Swagger beating Scotty Goldman is realistic, seemed like a solid contest however. Kevin Thorn returning and beating Ricky Ortiz is alright, this match wasn't too good however, never had time for Ortiz. Evan Bourne beating DJ Gabriel I like, because Gabriel is somebody I dislike, but seemed like a good ECW World Television Championship defense there. Elijah Burke beating Finlay is good, seemed like a decent bout there, too.

This week’s Smackdown! opens with a video package showing highlights of No Way Out. We see Hurricane Helms winning the United States Title, and then we see clips of the big eight man tag match. The video ends by showing MVP return and interrupting The Undertaker, then going on to defeat the Deadman. We then see Kane return, wearing his mask, with Paul Bearer, and he takes out ‘Taker.
Jim Ross and Tazz welcome us to another exciting edition of WWE Smackdown! We are told that tonight, our General Managers have already announced our main event. It will be WWE Champion Jeff Hardy and a partner of his choosing, taking on Edge and a partner of his choosing. Plus, The Undertaker is not here tonight, but Kane is in the building tonight and nobody knows what he will do. Right now though, we’re going straight to the ring for our opening contest.
Tag Team Match Jimmy Wang Yang & Kung Fu Naki vs. The New Hart Foundation w/ Natalya
Wilson and Smith pretty much dominated this match as they are an actual team, while Yang & Fu Naki are a random pairing. Smith nailed Naki with his stalling vertical suplex and tagged in Wilson who hit a springboard elbow drop but only got a two count. Wilson followed up with a fisherman suplex but again Naki kicked out. He tagged in Smith, then ran and knocked Yang off the apron, which allowed Smith to grab Naki and drill him with a Brainbuster.
Winners: The New Hart Foundation (5:08) **
The WWE Tag Team Champions, Carlito & Primo, were standing at the top of the ramp watching the match. TJ Wilson got on the microphone and told Carlito & Primo that they just witnessed what a real tag team looks like. He said that himself, Smith & Natalya have been trained for this their life and nothing’s going to stop them from getting Tag Team gold. The moment he said that, Carlito & Primo began to walk down the ramp and they reached the halfway point but suddenly bursts of flames hit the entranceway. Kane, followed by Paul Bearer, made his way to the arena. Wilson, Natalya and Smith ran to the back through the crowd. The Tag Champs had nowhere to go and Kane was coming right for them. Carlito tried to fight Kane off but Kane just pushed him away. Primo ran at him but got caught for a Chokeslam. Kane chokeslammed him off the stage. Carlito ran at him and Kane tossed him off the stage as well. Kane stared at their limp bodies as we went to commercial.
Commercial Break.
“No More Words” by Endeverafter hits as the WWE Champion, Jeff Hardy makes his way to the ring. He gets on the microphone and talks about how now, since No Way Out is behind them, his focus is 100% on Edge and WrestleMania. He says that he’s had plenty of battles with Edge, but this will be the biggest fight of their careers. Jeff said that tonight, both he & Edge must pick a tag partner, but he has no clue who to pick. Triple H’s music hits as he comes out. He said that he is almost certain that Edge will pick Umaga as his partner because of his strength and Triple H wants nothing more than to get his hands on Umaga. Jeff agrees and this brings out Vickie Guerrero. She says that Umaga won’t be Edge’s partner because he is already booked in a match tonight, but she said that Edge figured Jeff & Triple H would team up, so he picked somebody who has beaten Triple H in his career before. Out comes the former US Champion, Shelton Benjamin. He announces that Edge chose him to be his partner and tonight, “The Gold Standard” begins his quest to superstardom. Triple H shoots him down and basically says that he & Jeff will win tonight no matter what.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Festus w/ Jesse vs. Umaga
This sort of turned into a squash but Festus managed to get in some good offense. Festus hit some big moves as he started the match hot as he took down Umaga at the bell. After a few minutes, Umaga took back control and used a nerve hold to wear down Festus. The finish of this came when Umaga dropped Festus with the Samoan Spike.
Winner: Umaga (4:59) *½
We are now shown the video of the announcement that Owen Hart is the second inductee to the 2009 Hall of Fame class. Then we are reminded that Saliva will be performing at ‘Mania.
Commercial Break.
Shane McMahon is shown backstage talking to the new United States Champion, Hurricane Helms. The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson walk up to them. Kendrick tells Shane that he wants a shot at the US Title. Shane tells him that he has to go out and earn it although Helms tells him that he’ll give him the shot whenever he wants. Shane tells him that’s not how it’s done around here, because people must earn their title shots. Kendrick says fine with him and leaves.
Singles Match Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Ryan Braddock
Before the match, MVP got on the microphone and said that he’s glad to be back on the winning track. He said that he’s going to keep on winning and that will lead him to some WWE gold. He says that he’s still the MVP of the WWE and he will continue to prove it every night. Braddock looked decent in this match, but MVP was too good. He managed to hit all of major spots, including his Ballin’ elbow drop, Player’s Boot and finally ended it with the Drive By.
Winner: Montel Vontavious Porter (6:01) **
We see a split screen of the Divas Champion, Natalya and her challenger tonight, Michelle McCool, both walking to the ring.
Commercial Break.
We see that during the break, MVP was walking back to his locker room when he got stopped by Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy reminded him that a few years back, they were both considered the future of Smackdown when they were going against Kane and The Undertaker. He said that things have changed. Now Kane and The Undertaker have beef of their own, and Kennedy now longer sees MVP as the future. He thinks that MVP is just the flavor of the month because he got a fluke win over The Undertaker. MVP says that maybe Kenndy should actually get a win tonight before he begins to brag.
Divas Championship Natalya (c) vs. Michelle McCool
This turned out to be a pretty darn good Divas match, and it was actually the match of night so far. It wasn’t better than their Royal Rumble encounter, but it was better than their match at the Great American Bash. Natalya worked on McCool’s legs and back throughout the match as she seemed to be prepping her for the Sharpshooter. McCool would return the favor and work on the champ’s ankle, seemingly getting ready for the heel hook. McCool hooked her for the Wings of Love at one point, but Natalya back body dropped her over. In the end Natalya locked on the Sharpshooter and McCool had nowhere to go, so she had to tap out.
Winner and Still Divas Champion: Natalya (5:58) **½
We see Gail Kim watching Natalya celebrate on a monitor in the back. Eve comes up and asks why she’s doing this. Kim said that she has won the Women’s Title everywhere she has gone in her career and that’s why she chose to return to Smackdown, rather than Raw. She already won the Women’s Title, so now her goal is become the Divas Champion. She takes one more look at Natalya with the belt, and walks off.
Commercial Break.
As we return, we see Edge enter Shelton Benjamin’s locker room. Edge tells him that he better not screw up the match tonight. He may have beaten Triple H before but tonight is a chance for the “Rated R Superstar” to prove that he is better than Jeff Hardy, so he wants Shelton to just occupy The Game. Shelton says that he doesn’t care what Edge wants from him and that he’ll do whatever’s best for the “Gold Standard” tonight. Edge seems mad at this and walks away.
Singles Match Mr. Kennedy vs. The Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel Jackson
While this was a very good match, the crowd couldn’t really get into it due to Kennedy’s slow heel turn and Kendrick already being a heel. Kennedy began the match with the upper hand by nailing a backbreaker, DDT and then face washed Kendrick. Kendrick got back on the offensive when he nailed Kennedy with a knee smash in the corner and followed it up with a springboard back elbow. After a few more minutes of back and forth action Kendrick went for The Kendrick, but Kennedy pushed him chest first into the turnbuckle. Kennedy got tripped up by Ezekiel, which allowed Kendrick to roll him up and pull the tights for the surprise win.
Winner: The Brian Kendrick (9:04) ***
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Main Event Edge & Shelton Benjamin vs. WWE Champion Jeff Hardy & Triple H
This was your basic tag team main event as the heel tag team cut the ring in half and prevented Jeff from tagging in the powerful Triple H. Benjamin looked impressive, as he has in recent weeks, but it was he who allowed Jeff to make the tag, after taking an enziguri to the face. Triple H came in and served high knees and spinebusters all around for his opponents. He posed to the crowd and then nailed Benjamin with the Pedigree. Umaga made his way down to the ringside area, which distracted Triple H. This allowed Edge to drag Benjamin to his corner and make the tag. Edge waited for Triple H to turn around and drilled him with a Spear. He covered and Umaga pulled Jeff off the apron, and Edge got the three count.
Winners: Edge & Shelton Benjamin (12:47) ***¼
Jeff Hardy managed to escape from the clutches of the Samoan Bulldozer by moving out of the way and allowing Umaga to ram into the steel steps. He then went for his WWE Title. Edge also went and grabbed the belt, but he did it at the same time as Shelton Benjamin. Edge asked him what he was doing and they got into a tug of war over the belt, until Jeff laid both men out and held his title in the air.
