John Morrison advancing in the King of The Ring is awesome. I'm one of the few people who like DJ Gabriel, but I prefer Morrison over him. I've gotta agree that The Miz vs. John Morrison in the KOTR would be badass. Burke pinning Dreamer was expected. Hopefully Thorn doesn't get the strap. Good show. I couldn't see any faults, tbh.

May22nd, 2009 Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado Attendance: 16,091
Smackdown’s weekly video package opens the show, this one showcasing the events that occurred at Judgment Day. It started by showing Shelton Benjamin’s victory over CM Punk, followed by Jeff Hardy & Shane McMahon beating Edge & Umaga and ending with Randy Orton’s win over The Undertaker, following interference from Chris Jericho.
Jim Ross and Tazz welcome us to tonight’s big edition of Smackdown. They hype up the two first round King of the Ring matches, CM Punk vs. Tyler Black and R-Truth vs. Shelton Benjamin. They also say that we will hopefully be getting some answers from Chris Jericho tonight.
Once those words come out of Tazz’s mouth, Jericho’s music hits and he comes down to the ring. Jericho gets on the microphone and begins talking about how he promised everybody that he would be once again making an impact in the WWE. He said that he now has two goals in mind. One, is to become the World Champion. His second is to beat the one man that he has never faced in the WWE and that is The Undertaker. This brings out Randy Orton, who tells Jericho that he’s delusional if he thinks he’s going to win the World Title from him. Jericho says that the only reason he’s still Champion is because of him. Out comes Co-General Manager Vickie Guerrero. She says that she’s being pressured by the board of directors to give The Undertaker a rematch at the World Title. So tonight, it’s going to be The Undertaker going one on one with Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship! Orton is super pissed, but Vickie says that tonight’s match will have a stipulation. Chris Jericho will serve as the special guest referee. She leaves and Orton and Jericho stare each other down.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Kofi Kingston vs. WWE Tag Team Champion TJ Wilson w/ Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart
Despite being one half of the reigning Tag Team Champions, Wilson can still shine in singles action and it showed here. He hung tough with the Jamaican Superstar, who’s been struggling since his move to Friday Nights. This one was a tough battle that went back and forth but in the end, Kofi put Wilson away with some Trouble in Paradise.
Winner: Kofi Kingston (5:57) **½
After the match, we see United States Champion The Brian Kendrick watching on a monitor with his bodyguard, Lawrence Knight. Kendrick smirks at Kofi winning and tells Knight that their match is next.
Commercial Break.
In the back, we see Edge with Vickie and he’s really selling his injuries. He has a neck brace on and a huge band-aid on his forehead. He said that he will present the Cutting Edge tonight, because no matter how bad he wants to get his hands on Shane tonight, he can’t due to injury. She grants him permission to do The Cutting Edge tonight and they kiss.
Tag Team Match Carlito & Primo Colon vs. United States Champion The Brian Kendrick & Lawrence Knight
Kendrick once again played the heel to perfection. He allowed Knight to handle the heavy lifting and would only want to be tagged in after one of the Colons was down and out. This continued until Kendrick taunted and allowed Primo to make the tag to Carlito. Carlito ran in and nailed Kendrick with a Back Cracker in the middle of his taunting. Knight ran in to make the save, but Carlito ducked and pulled down the top rope, sending Knight crashing to the outside. He covered Kendrick for the win.
Winners: Carlito & Primo Colon (6:24) **
Backstage, Shelton Benjamin is interviewed. He said that at Judgment Day he proved that he is the Gold Standard of Money in the Bank winners. And now, he will show that he’s the Gold Standard of King of the Ring participants.
Commercial Break.
Once again we cut to the back, where Carlito is talking with Shane McMahon. Shane tells him that since he pinned Kendrick tonight he can have a United States Title shot next week!
King of the Ring First Round R-Truth vs. Shelton Benjamin
Pretty much what you would expect from these two. Much like their previous encounters for the United States Title. Truth started out on fire but Benjamin managed to slow down the pace and ground his opponent. That made the match rather lackluster, but once Truth got the crowd on his side, he sped up the match again and hit his signature spots. He went for the Scissors Kick, but Shelton dodged it and caught him with Paydirt.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin (7:19) **¾
We see Edge in the back, walking towards the arena. The Cutting Edge is next!
Commercial Break.
“Coming Home” hits on the loud speakers as Edge makes his way to the ring, still over selling his injuries. He gets on the microphone and begins to talk about how he’s embarrassed that he was pinned by Shane McMahon in the middle of the ring last Sunday. He talks about how he needs to step up his game and it starts by calling Shane out. Shane makes his way to the ring. They get right in each other’s faces. Edge tells him that he wants this to end. Shane says that it won’t end until one of them isn’t breathing anymore. Edge says that while that’s a great idea, he wants one more match with Shane. No tag team partners, no pinfalls, no submissions. He wants Shane in an I Quit match at King of the Ring! Shane agrees and tells Edge that he better “heal” up before King of the Ring. As Shane goes to leave, Edge attacks him. He sets up to deliver a one man con-chair-to but Jeff Hardy runs out to make the save.
Commercial Break.
King of the Ring First Round CM Punk vs. Tyler Black w/ The Brood
Wow. This easily stole the show here tonight. Both men worked their butts off. Punk got the better of their early mat wrestling, but when he went for his springboard clothesline, Black ducked it, went to the apron and hit one of his own. Later on, Black went for a superkick, but Punk dodged it and nailed him with one of his own. They seemed to have similar styles and they had each other scouted well. Punk went for his knee strike in the corner, but Black got out of the way and delivered a powerbomb into the corner. Black went to put him away with God’s Last Gift (small package driver), but Punk somehow managed to kick out. Black was frustrated by this and went for it again but Punk blocked it, hoisted him onto his shoulders and nailed the GTS.
Winner: CM Punk (13:07) ***¾
The Brood was frustrated on the outside and the announcers put over the match. Surprisingly, the crowd was behind Black at some points in the match and he seems to be gaining respect as of late.
Commercial Break.
Six Divas Tag Match Divas Champion Natalya, Jillian Hall & Maryse vs. Gail Kim, Nikki & Brie Bella
The Bellas might not have jobs for too long as they looked awful in the ring tonight. Luckily, their job was to take a beating from the three heel women and eventually tag in Gail, who carried her team. Gail came in with a burst of adrenaline and she took out each girl. She hit the Happy Ending on Natalya and went for the cover, but Natalya wasn’t the legal woman. She turned around right into a DDT from Maryse.
Winners: Divas Champion Natalya, Jillian Hall & Maryse (5:06) *¾
In the back, we see Chris Jericho walking with his referee shirt on. He’ll referee the main event, next!
Commercial Break.
World Heavyweight Championship Randy Orton (c) vs. The Undertaker Special Referee: Chris Jericho
While this wasn’t as good as their match at Judgment Day, it was still really good. They got a good amount of time and Jericho was a fair referee at the start. ‘Taker had control throughout as he made sure the match was slow paced. He worked Orton’s arm and neck, until Orton nailed him with a low blow, which Jericho quickly turned his face away from. Orton hit his over the back neck breaker and then wore down ‘Taker with a sleeper hold. ‘Taker fought out of it and hit a big boot. He locked on the Hell’s Gate submission and Orton was fading fast, but Jericho turned the other way and looked at the crowd. ‘Taker got up, furious and yelled at Jericho to pay attention. Jericho ignored him again so ‘Taker pushed him and he called for the bell.
Winner by Disqualification and Still World Heavyweight Champion: Randy Orton (11:29) ***
Undertaker was furious and he began to deliver lefts and rights to Jericho’s face and mid section in the corner. Orton came from behind, turned ‘Taker around and nailed an RKO. He stared at ‘Taker until Jericho got up and stomped on The Undertaker. Orton joined in until Jericho quickly turned and hit him with a Codebreaker. Jericho looked down on both men as the show closed.

Orton/Taker may be a little too big for TV but we'll see. Glad Kofi got the W in that match. Actually surprised there to see The Colons win. I'd be all for Shelton winning the KOTR, although he may not need it with the MITB briefcase. Figured Punk would win, I could see him going far in the KOTR. Glad Maryse got the pin in her match. Finish of the show was well executed.

I love having a World title match tonight. I like Jericho as referee. Interesting to see Kofi win, I can not say I love that, but it works. I am unsure about TBK and Knight losing, but Colon and Carlito are the better tag team. Very happy Shelton won. Very nice Edge/Shane segment. Good call with Punk winning, Tyler isn’t ready to get that big of a push yet. Happy Orton retained and I like the way it happened. I love the ending, I am guessing there will be a triple threat for the title.

Smackdown was good, loved the ending to the main event, Shane vs Edge in an I quit match should be epic. Good opener with Kofi and Wilson, glad Shelton and Punk advanced in the KOTR. Smackdown was good, cant wait for RAW and eventually KOTR to come up. Hoping Kane and Orton keep their belts, and im expecting Taker/Jericho to be added to the card soon.

Good opening promo to kick off this edition of SmackDown. Wow, interesting scenario with a Randy Orton vs Undertaker rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, interesting twist that Chris Jericho will be the special guest referee. Hope you don't put Undertaker and Jericho on at King of the Ring. KOTR is replacing Extreme Rules/One Night Stand, which didn't really feature as much star power as the other pay-per-views. Decent opening contest, actually pretty suprised you had Kofi Kingston go over TJ Wilson, but glad you chose to put him over your obvious favourite wrestler at the moment, hehe. Fair tag team match with Primo and Carlito & The Brian Kendrick and Lawrence Knight. Unsure who that Knight fella is, but he doesn't seem to be a good a wrestler. Solid King of the Ring tournament match, seems good that Shelton Benjamin qualified over R-Truth. Just do not go for a royal gimmick for the winner, please. Good segment between Edge and Shane McMahon. CM Punk beating Tyler Black is fine, seemed like a solid contest. Glad he qualified, also. Okay womens tag team match. Solid main event.

Smackdown was a solid show overall. The opening segment was a nice way to continue the events of Judgment Day. Kofi going over TJ was good, interesting to see where you head with it and if Kofi gets a partner to go after the tag titles. The Colon/Kendrick stuff was good, Carlito/Kendrick should be good and although I don't expect Carlito to win the belt, it's still a decent mini feud. The KOTR matches were good and as I said glad you brought it back in that format. Here's pulling for a Shelton win and the right men went over in both cases. Cutting Edge was a perfectly fine segment in moving along the Edge/Shane feud, although Edge going over seems inevitable, hopefully Shane's either relegated to a non wrestler role or taken off screen after this feud. The main event was fine, although I'm never really high on rematches of PPV matches the week after the PPV, expecially since this one nearly ended the same as the PPV one. But anyway nice way to continue the main event program and build towards the next PPV and a triple threat, it's seem almost out of character for Jericho in that main event besides the end, but that's a small complaint. Overall good stuff, keep it up and look forward to more.

5/23/09 Edition-As shown the last two weeks, Velocity has feature some bigger stars in the main event. In just those two weeks, we've seen John Morrison, Carlito & Umaga. -The WWE is looking for at least two new face tag teams. There are only four face tag teams, compared to five heel teams if Regal & Burchill start to team. But WWE feels that Jesse & Festus are close to being released. One plan is to bring up Sheamus to team with Finlay and Hornswoggle. They is also talk of bringing up Tyler Reks & Johnny Curtis, the FCW Tag Team Champions, but Creative is worried that they won't be over enough. -It's possible that there will be an upcoming round of releases. Possibilities include Jesse, Festus, The Bellas, Manu, Val Venis, Mike Knox, Kung Fu Naki, Jillian Hall, Hardcore Holly, Tiffany, The Boogeyman & Ricky Ortiz. While the WWE feels that they may have too many Divas, a few of them will be in managerial roles like the old days. Layla, Alcia Fox, The Bellas, Tiffany & Candice are possibly all going to be in managerial roles. -There are no plans whatsoever to give this year's King of the Ring winner a royalty gimmick. They feel it was played out after King Booker, King Kurt, Owen Hart & Mabel.

I will have to admit that I haven’t had the time to read your diary. But if I can, I’ll try to start from the beginning before I give a half-assed reply. So what I’ll do is that I’ll read the diary from the get-go so I can catch up to what I’ve been missing.
Deal? But I will give you this though, Props for making Kane the World Champion, as well the free World Title match on Smackdown. Man, felt like ol’ days.
P.S: Don't cut Val Venis! You can do something amazing with him, even General Manager, Manager, etc etc.

Raw 5/25/09 Preview
-Last week on Raw, John "Bradshaw" Layfield shocked the world as he unveiled his new Cabinet. It consists of Ryan Braddock and a newly changed Cryme Tyme, who now want to be known as Jayson Paul & Shad Gaspard. What will this new faction have in store for us tonight on Raw?
-Also last week, The McMahons announced that Kane would be defending his WWE Championship in a Judgment Day rematch against John Cena at King of the Ring. The added stipulation is that it will be a First Blood match. Also, Batista made his return last week and interrupted Triple H's promo time. With two stars like that there's no telling what will go down between them. Tonight, Kane will team with "The Game" to take on former World Tag Team Champions, John Cena & Batista!
-Last week, William Regal and Rey Mysterio advanced in the King of the Ring tournament. Over on ECW, John Morrison advanced & on Smackdown Shelton Benjamin & CM Punk added their names to that list. Tonight, Evan Bourne will go one on one with United States Champion The Brian Kendrick in the First Round of the tournament!
Tune into USA Network at 9 PM for all this and more!

May 25th, 2009 University of New Mexico [The Pit] Attendance: 15,611
The show begins and goes right into a video package focusing on last week’s announcement that John Cena would be facing Kane in a rematch from Judgment Day, at King of the Ring, in a First Blood match. Then it cuts to showing John Cena and MVP beating JBL & Kane by disqualification and the formation of JBL’s new Cabinet.
Before Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler can even welcome us to the show, JBL comes to the ring with his Cabinet. Walking with them is Candice Michelle in sexy secretary type attire. All four male members of the Cabinet are also in casual attire. JBL introduced Candice as his Image Consultant, Jayson Paul & Shad Gaspard as his Secretaries of Defense, and Ryan Braddock as his Chief of Staff. He said that this incarnation of the Cabinet is more talented, hungrier and more determined than last time. Tonight, Ryan Braddock will get his chance to shine first when he takes on R-Truth. The rest of them will take tonight off as they have plans to make for their future but they will be around much more often and JBL promises that they will be making an impact on Raw.
Commercial Break.
In the back, we see Stephanie and Vince McMahon in the back. They’re talking with Legacy. They grant Rhodes & Henning a match at the King of The Ring pay-per-view. They say that Charlie Haas & Jamie Noble will defend their World Tag Team Titles against them and tonight, The Technicians will face all three members of Legacy in a 3 on 2 handicap match.
King of the Ring First Round Evan Bourne vs. United States Champion The Brian Kendrick w/ Lawrence Knight
These two kicked off the show with a great opener as they both used their high flying ability to their advantage. Bourne was using the ropes to springboard all over the place. He nailed a springboard clothesline and heel kick. Kendrick hit a frog splash and then a monkey flip. The only problem was that Bourne landed on his feet and when Kendrick got up he hit him with a kick to the face. Bourne climbed to the top and connected with the Shooting Star Press to end it.
Winner: Evan Bourne (7:29) ***¼
In the back we see MVP talking with R-Truth. He’s telling R-Truth to make sure that he watches his back out there because he knows that The Cabinet will cheat, sneak attack and do anything they can to get a win. R-Truth thanks him and says that he should watch his back during his match too. MVP says that he’s not wrestling tonight, but he will be on Smackdown against Umaga in the King of the Ring Tournament. He seemed worried by that. He’s tapped on the shoulder and when he turns around, it’s Eve, who hasn’t been seen since she was Pedigreed by Triple H a few weeks back. MVP hugs her and seems a lot more confident now that she’s back.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match R-Truth vs. Ryan Braddock w/ Candice Michelle
This was a pretty even contest. A lot of the crowd haven’t got to see much of Braddock and wondered why he was put in the Cabinet. He showed that he has skill and managed to draw heat by jawing with some fans. He also slowed down the match and stopped R-Truth’s usual high flying momentum. Truth did manage to get in a few of those moves, when he hit his spinning flying forearm. He hit the Scissors Kick, but Candice got on the apron and distracted the referee. R-Truth got the referee’s attention but turned around right into a Lariat from Braddock.
Winner: Ryan Braddock (5:14) **½
The cameras cut to Victoria in the back. She’s talking with Mickie James, Kelly Kelly and Melina. They all tell her that they hope tonight’s not her last night and Victoria promises to give it her all out there.
Commercial Break.
As we return, a video package is shown promoting “The Warrior” Kaval, who will be coming to Raw in the next few weeks.
Women’s Championship Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Victoria
Much like their match back at Judgment Day, this was really good. Victoria once again gave Beth all that she could handle and held nothing back, knowing that this could be her last match. She pulled out all the stops and climbed to the top. She went for a moonsault, but Beth moved. Beth took over at that point until Victoria rolled her up and it looked like another fluke loss for Beth, but she kicked out. Beth went for her fisherman buster, but Victoria blocked it, kicked her in the gut and nailed the Widow’s Peak for the win.
Winner and NEW Women’s Champion: Victoria (5:02) **¾
Victoria celebrated up the ramp as she is the first woman to beat Beth Phoenix convincingly. Out come Mickie James, Melina and Kelly Kelly to celebrate with her.
Commercial Break.
Batista makes his way to the ring to a chorus of loud cheers. He begins to talk about what he mentioned last week. That while he was injured he watched a lot of Raw and he hasn’t liked Triple H’s change of character and him saying that Raw is his show. He challenges Triple H to a match at King of the Ring to prove that Triple H’s road to the WWE goes through “The Animal”, the one man he has never beaten. Triple H comes out and accepts the challenge before telling Batista that this isn’t some miraculous year like 2005 and this isn’t some hot streak that Batista on, so he can expect his little winning streak against Triple H to come to an end. They trade insults after that and that leads to a fist fight which has to be broken up by security.
Commercial Break.
We return to see the bracket for the King of The Ring tournament. The remaining first round matches include MVP against Umaga, which will take place on Friday’s Smackdown and Jack Swagger taking on Kofi Kingston tomorrow on ECW.
3 on 2 Handicap Match Legacy vs. World Tag Team Champions The Technicians w/ Kelly Kelly
Despite being undermanned, Haas and Noble held their own. Legacy worked over Noble early on and made frequent tags to do so. Each man hit a signature move. Rhodes hit a DDT, Dibiase hit a fist drop and Henning nailed a stiff back breaker. Rhodes decided to taunt at one point and that allowed Noble to dropkick him in the back, and make the hot tag. Haas came in firing, hitting various suplexes until Dibiase nailed him with a low blow, while Henning distracted the referee. That allowed Rhodes to hit the Cross Rhodes to end it.
Winners: Legacy (8:46) **¾
The announcers put over next week’s match of Charlie Haas vs. Joe Henning, while Cody Rhodes and Jamie Noble do battle on Velocity!
Once again we cut to the back where we see Katie Lea Burchill talking with Layla. Katie Lea asks where Paul is at and Layla says that he’s busy with William Regal and that they will return next week together. Katie Lea doesn’t look so sure about this though.
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match WWE Champion Kane & Triple H w/ Paul Bearer vs. Batista & John Cena
These four did a good job of not giving away anything for the upcoming PPV as Cena battled with HHH while Kane & Batista went at it for the most part. Towards the end of the match though, Batista and HHH were both given the tag. They went right at each other, trading fists, but of course Batista got the better and had HHH in the corner. He seemed to be in trouble so Kane came into the ring, but that just brought in Cena. It became an all out brawl after that and the referee lost control. He didn’t call for a disqualification though because he knew that this was a match featuring some big stars. He was finally forced to call one though when Triple H brought in his sledgehammer to nail Batista in the stomach.
Winners by DQ: John Cena & Batista (10:17) ***
John Cena leveled HHH before he could do more damage and knocked him to the outside. Cena got a chair from the outside and when Kane got up he nailed him with it three times, the last time hard enough that it could make any man bleed. He stood over Kane with the chair in his hand as the show faded to black.

Somewhat surprised to see Bourne win since TBK is US Champ but I'm fine either way. Sad to see R-Truth job but oh well. Unsure about Victoria winning, couldn't see it happening at this time. Batista/HHH should be great. Legacy winning was the right call due to their numbers advantage. Big tag match there, those individual matches will make for a big PPV.

I didn't expect Bourne to beat Kendrick since he is the United States Champion, but I'm glad Bourne is being pushed. I'm half and half on Victoria winning the title. She's a great talent so it's good she won the belt, but I personally thought she should have lost to Beth and retired. Here's hoping Legacy win the straps at KOTR. Fantastic main event. Hopefully Kane retains at KOTR over Cena.

I like JBL starting off the show. I enjoy him hyping The Cabinet and I am happy you are giving the stable air time. I am unsure about Ryan Braddock versus R-Truth. Ryan winning would hurt R-Truth a lot, and R-Truth winning would make The Cabinet look weak.
I like the 3 on 2 handicap match, I just feel like that works well. It allows the match to get some heat leading up the KOTR and utilize Legacy as a stable.
I don’t like Bourne going over cleanly the US Champion. Unless this leads to a rivalry, I feel that was a bad booking choice. Bourne is a great talent and I hope you continue to utilize him well. I like the backstage segment. It was a good way to reconnect Eve and MVP and hype the R-Truth and Ryan Braddock match.
I am unsure about Ryan Braddock winning. Although Candice caused a distraction, I don’t feel it was a strong enough interference for R-Truth to lose cleanly. I am happy The Cabinet is being booked well though.
Kaval is Low-Ki correct? If so I am interested to see how you use him and I hope he is booked like a machine.
I like having the title change hands on Raw, it gives the sense that anything can happen. I love Victoria at champion, she is amazing. I hope you book the rest of her reign well and make her look terrific. I hope you don’t completely job out Beth though.
I like the way you made Batista versus Triple H. The match should be good and it is pretty fresh since it has been four years since they last faced off. I hope they have a great match and I hope Triple H finally gets the victory over him.
I am very happy Legacy won, but I hope that The Technicians don’t lose their titles, they seem like a good team and believable.
I am interested to see what happens with William, Paul and Katie.
I like the faces winning by disqualification. It makes all four men look good and continues their feuds. I enjoyed Cena laying out Kane, but I hope he doesn’t take the championship off him.
Overall, a solid show man. Really enjoyed it.

This has gone so far I can't believe it. I'll be honest and say I haven't been keeping up with it. Congrats on the HOF entry. I really like Kane as champion and that he has the mask back on. The fact that he holds it for longer than a day is also a plus. Cena/Kane feud is something very interesting which could be good. I also like Elijah Burke as ECW Champion and I hope you give him a LONG title reign. I like that you brought the Cabinet back. Ryan Braddack in there is an interesting choice to say the least, not really sure about it. Not really sure about bringing back KOTR but its different so I guess its alright. I like the team of Haas/Noble, it gives them something to do. Trying to cover as much as I can without going to far back. It looks like your doing very well for yourself on this board. Awesome job man.

You have a strong diary going here, but I just feel like you're going too far away from the actual product with some of your decisions. And I feel as if you're pushing people you are a fan of personally, and whilst technically that's the whole point of a diary, I just think the company would benefit a whole lot more with someone who can make money, rather then favourites. Despite all that, your shows are well written, though I'm not sure on the layout. Kane as WWE Champion is a very nice change, and I'm enjoying his feud with John Cena.
