I just got the hell in a cell dvd and watched the first disc. They were all pretty good matches but the one that stuck out to me the most was the 6-man match. This my favorite hell in the cell match barely edging out taker vs. hbk and taker vs. foley. So my question is do you think this is the best hell in a cell match ever and do you think they should do another 6-man match today.

I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember it being a cluster . A lot of talent, for sure, but a six-man HIAC shouldn't even be necessary to begin with. It should only be used for one-on-one encounters and as the blow-off match to a major feud, in my opinion. I would not classify it as the best HIAC match, because that title belongs to either the original HIAC match with HBK and 'Taker or the NWO 2000 HIAC with Triple H and Cactus Jack. KOTR 1998 with Mankind and 'Taker is easily the most memorable of them all, though, but it wasn't a great match. Also, I don't think six-man HIAC matches work anymore after the introduction of the Elimination Chamber, and I personally would not want to see six guys fighting in a HIAC for any reason; it would just end up being overbooked with too much chaos going on at the same time.

watching smachdown just gave me kind of an idea with hhh, jeff hardy, edge, kozlov fueding at the end and have them in the cell or maybe even throw taker and big show in there to. That is for of a fantasy and with the elimination chamber it kind of takes away from the match being special. but i just think if booked right it could be an amazing match

Doing another one would be awesome and I am sure could be a staple of a PPV.

I remember the 6-man sucking balls, everyone just looked lost & standing around as two paired p in the ring, then changed with others. Repeat Plus the lame Rikishi fall which was so telegraphed when that truck came out.
However I liked the storyline build to it during the actual ppv with Vince trying to cancel it as too dangerous for his wrestlers

I agree 100%. With like, everything. People tend to think that more great wrestlers in one match means the match will be better, but it tends to just get too complicated. Or you can't focus on one aspect of the match because something else is going on. There's just too much going on and it holds the match down.

Back when that match was first announced, I didn't have Internet at home and we didn't get Raw on TV until Friday night. So I remember on Tuesdays I used to check for Raw results on my phone - an old, green-screen phone, with mobile internet very much in its infancy. And the only place that had them was some German website so it was kind of hard to understand. But I was like "6-man Hell in a Cell?!" It seemed like the biggest match of all time to me.
When it happened, I wasn't blown away by it.

i honestly watched it yesterday and didnt think it was a cluster , but the bad thing was it was all 1 on 1, 1 on 1, 1 on 1, rikishi bump was pretty good on his part. angle winning is typical heel fashion. austin throwing the camera on..triple h? rock? not sure which one. overall a good hell in a cell. i just picked up the dvd too, but its not the best one. hbk vs michaels would be for me.

I watched this on the DVD yesterday, and its still one of my favorite matches of all-time. All the biggest stars in the most dangerous match in the WWE, you can't go wrong with it. When I watched it live I was surprised that Angle won. This match is special because nothing like it had been seen before, and if it ever happened again, it would not even be close to this one.

It was a fairly terrible match, that people only like because it's the one of it's kind.
Also, the 'big bump' was fairly weak.

it was a solid match, but had nowhere near the depth that a rikishi/austin hiac could've had.

It's not so much the best, it was just very hyped and quite unusual to see 6 men in a HIAC, as I think before it only went upto 4 on an old RAW... It's a good match to watch, but definately not better than some of the older ones...

Usually i only like HIAC matches if its ending a one on one fued. I watch this match last week for the first time in quite sometime and didnt relize how built up this match was. the whole ppv was dedicated to this match and they acted like there wasnt any other matches on the card. But while watching i relized i was fine with the booking of the 6 men in the cell becaus they were all involve in a storyline with each other. so it really wasnt like 6 men just put in a cell it did have some story to it... now not one of my favorites but it was a fun match to watch

I remember the hype being amazing and than watching the match and being so disappointed. I really can not say I enjoy the match. The only thing fun is that it is unique.
