What are the top 5 fights you want to see take palce before January 1, 2010? Please answer the same way I did. It's more interesting to read everyone's opinions rather than a simple list. Thanks. 5. Anderson Silva vs. Denis KangI'm a big fan of both fighters, and Kang's recent signing with the UFC made this dream fight possible for me. His 31-10-1 record may not be the most impressive in the sport, but I'd definitely have Kang ranked in the top 10 in the world. If he knocks out Alan Belcher at UFC 93, as I expect he will, Kand could be within a fight of a title shot. Kang consistently challenges the best in the world, be it Gegard Mousasi, Yoshohiro Akiyama, or a handful of other opponents. This is definitely a fight I would pay to see, therefore it lands at #5 on my Xmas list. 4. Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago AlvesIf there's one more fight we need to see Rush take at 170 pounds, it's a fight with Thiago Alves. It is my honest opinion that The Pitbull may be the one of the few competitors at 170 pounds that can compete with St. Pierre on an athletic level. On the feet, I think Alves me even have the advantage. He is so explosive, so fast, that it might actually take some one like Georges St. Pierre to definitively put him down. A showdown between two of the UFC's best athletes for the Welterweight Championship is definitely a fight I'd like to see. 3. Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo NogueiraMinitauro Nogueira is widely considered to be the #2 heavyweight in the world, just behind Fedor Emelianenko. Randy Couture is hands down my favorite fighter, and I have more faith in him than most. It might be my faith speaking, but I honestly beleive that Couture could put Minitauro away. I think the Natural has better hands, better movement, and better take down defense than Big Nog. Nogueira is always dangerous, no matter what. That being said, I think it should be stated that if anyone can stay away from Nog's submission game, it'd be Randy. He constantly brings the perfect game plan into his fights, and I don't see this being any different. 2. Chuck Liddell vs. 'Shogun' RuaThe Ice Man recently turned 39, and he doesn't have much longer in the business of fighting. Although I do not believe his recent losses can be attributed to his age, and would have happened no matter what age he was, the fact of the matter remains that Chuck will be 41 in 2010, and not everyone ages like a fine wine, getting better along the way. A dream match between Shogun Rua and the Ice Man would not only sell like mad, but it would be an explosive fight as well. Excitment personified, in my opinion, would be watching a fight between Rua and Liddell. 1. Anderson Silva vs. Georges St. PierreIf there's one fight that could topple UFC 66' rematch between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz on the pay per view buys list, I think this fight could do it. If you're talking super fights, I don't think it gets any bigger that a double title match between the two best pound for pound fighters in the world. Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre have been throttling everyone in their respective divisions, and I can't think of a better way to determine who the best fighter in the world really is. If I'm wishing for one fight this Xmas, I think the first ever double championship match between Rush St. Pierre and Spider Silva gets top honors.

5) Gina Carano vs. Cyborg Santos The two best women fighters on the planet finally meeting. I don't care where it is, I just want to see it. The pretty, poster girl for women's mma vs. the beast who wrecks everyone she fights. If Gina loses, its going to be in this fight. It would be the biggest fight in Women's MMA history.
4) Urijah Faber vs. Miguel Torres Two of the best fighters in the world going at it. The best 135 pound fighter vs the best 145 pound fighter. I don't know what weight it would be at; 145, 135 or a catch weight of 140.
3) Fedor vs. Josh Barnett I always thought Josh would be a very good test for Fedor, seeing he's great on the ground and can take a hell of a beating. I truly believe this would be Fedor's hardest fight ever. It's a possibility if Fedor and Josh win their next fights in January.
2) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Brock Lesnar C'mon, who wouldn't want to see this happen? Brock is an animal with devestating power in his hands, but Nog is a seasoned veteran who has been on the recieving end of bad beatings before and has almost always found a way to win. Brock (so far anyway) has been vulnerable to submissions, as seen in the Mir fight. But he has come a long way since that fight and it would be interesting to see how much his sub defence has improved by the time they fight.
1) Anderson Silva vs. Georges St. Pierre The ultimate fight in UFC history with the two best fighters in the UFC. Both are in their prime and are dominant champions in their weight classes. Anderson has cleaned out his entire division with ease, but GSP needs to fight Thiago Alves first before he can claim the whole division, in my opinion. Both guys have shown some weaknesses though. Anderson Silva with his wrestling/takedown defence (demonstrated by Dan Henderson and Travis Lutter) and GSP with his ability to take a flurry of punches (demonstrated by Matt Serra). Where Silva is weak, GSP is arguably at his best, and where GSP has shown weakness is where Silva is at his best. I think this would get the biggest buyrate in UFC history and if you want a super fight, it doesn't get any bigger or closer than this. This fight NEEDS to happen in 2009.

I picked 6 because...I'm greedy . #6. Huerta vs. FisherMaybe not really a dream fight for many people, but this has classic written all over it IMO. Both guys look to put on amazing fights. Huerta looks to finish, and with his fight against Kenny, it looked like he was getting frusterated with him backing up. Guida vs. Huerta was amazing, and I personally can't see this fight being any different. #5. Liddell vs. ShogunI would first want Chuck to finally get a win under his belt, possibly even 2 before stepping into the ring with Rua. Shogun was a shell of himself against Forrest, but I think he's going to be making a ton of his critiques eat their words once he finishes Coleman. #4. Manoef vs. LebenWith Manoef making a comeback (his retirement lasted how many months?) a couple fights in the UFC would be high on my wish list. Melvin fights at around 200, so that could make him fight at either middle or light heavy weight. Although he has next to no ground skills at all, I doubt Leben would try to finish him off with a submission. This would be a slug fest! #3. Wanderlei vs. MachidaEven Dana himself has stated that he believes Machida is the next top P4P fighter in the world. No fighter has been able to figure him out, with even Liddell and Forrest publically turning fights down against him. But for some reason...who else can see Wandy just absolutely running through him? I would love to see this fight... #2. KID vs. UrijahGranted Faber gets past Jens and then wins a rematch with Brown, what would be a better fight then these 2 guys? Both have an amazing wrestling game with very impressive stand up. Only thing I could see possibly standing in the way, is the hefty price tag that comes with KID. #1. GSP vs. AndersonNot only does Georges have to get past Penn, he has to make it past Thiago whos been a complete animal as of late. If somehow these 2 fights meet near the end of 09, what would honestly be better then that? I can't think of anything.

5. BJ Penn vs Shinya Aoki (at 155)
I think BJ would keep this standing and pick apart Aoki, but if this went to the ground, it'd be one of the best JJ displays you could see in an octagon. I think Penn would definitely win this fight, but it'd be incredible to watch these guys go back and forth looking for submissions. A true chess match.
4. Carlos Condit vs Jake Shields
I really think Shields and Condit are the top up and coming WW. I hope Shields soon signs with ZUFFA so they can make something like this happen. Condit is just destroying people in WEC, and there isn't much competition left. It'd be a good idea to bring him up and let him face some of the UFC WW, especially since there are 3 from AKA that can't fight each other (Fitch, Swick, Kos) ...Condit and Shields would be some new, fresh, meat. These 2 would be a GREAT ground war, both are incredible JJ players. Both also have above average stand up...I'd LOVE this fight.
3. Fedor vs Brock Lesnar
Yes I think Fedor would win, and yes it's FAR too early to feed Brock to him...but this is the biggest fight you could set up at HW. Imagine the hype and build up to this fight alone. Plus, I think this would be the first time Fedor would be really outmatched by so much power, he'd have to change his game plan. Sure Choi was bigger, but Lesnar has actual athletic ability.
2. GSP vs Anderson Silva
It's already been said...but wow, what a fight we'd see. Putting these 2 together gives you a FOTY candidate before the fight even starts. Silva hasn't been tested in 3 years...THIS is the guy that would actually give him a lot of trouble.
1. Urijah Faber vs KID
Boquest and his igloo ruined this as my big "match up." What's that all aboot? Anyways, you have 2 guys that have been calling each other out for about 2 years now. KID is the biggest draw in Japan and gets fistfulls of cash thrown at him to fight there. I don't see ZUFFA giving out the same money to set this fight up, but my god...I'd be in heaven. This is a fight that would be on the same level as the GSP/Silva fight. 2 guys, similar skills. It'd be an all out war.

#5. Roger Huerta vs. Diego Sanchez Talk about FOTN. These two would just go for broke and I don't see this fight going to the ground at all. Huerta I think would have the advantage in the stand-up but we all counted out Sanchez against Parisyan and look what happened. I see this fight being an instant classic with Diego Sanchez coming out victorious.
#4. Anderson Silva vs. Patrick Cote II This fight needs to happen. I am tired of Patrick Cote thinking he is hot sh** because he went to the third round with Anderson Silva. His confidence is built up and Anderson is disappointed with his last performance (even though up until the injury he was winning on the judges score cards). I see Anderson coming out and lighting up Cote and then backing up...just trying to give him something to think about. Then just slowly picking away at Cotes spirit until it is completely broken and going in for the kill. Anderson wins it by anything he wants.
#3. Kenny Florian vs. BJ Penn Everyone thinks BJ would destroy Florian but I think Florian actually has an advantage in the standup. He is brutal with his strikes and his muat thai has improved drastically since his fight with Sean Sherk. This is a fight I have been waiting for...hopefully it happens in 09. I can't call this one.
#2. Chuck Liddell vs. Brock Lesnar I want to see Brock fight a striker with one punch KO power. Liddell is that guy. Brock is going to want to press the action so he will be chasing Chuck down...Chuck likes that, he is one of the few guys or the only guy who can knockout an opponent while on the defense backing up. But would Brocks wrestling be too much for Chuck? We haven't seen Chuck on his back for more than a couple of seconds for the last couple of years. This is a fight I know nobody wants to see but I personally would love to see and as much as I hate Liddell I see him winning this one.
#1. Anderson Silva vs. GSP P4P king vs. Potential P4P king. Classic. Written all over this. I think GSP knows his standup is not as crisp and clean as Andersons so he would go in for the shoot...I see Anderson avoiding the takedown a couple of times doing that "hop on one leg while punching you in face" thing he does...but eventually Pierre will get the takedown. On the ground the fight is a bit more even. Both guys are brutal and I seriously don't know what would happen in this fight. But I'll go with Silva because I'm a big ass mark.

in no particular order
1. Anderson Silva vs. Chuck Liddell. Sure Liddell hasn't been the same Chuck from a couple of years ago but we saw what he did in his fight versus Wanderli Silva. I think it would be a great stand-up war.
2. Randy Couture vs. Fedor Don't care what happened against Lesnar, this would be a great fight
3. Lesnar vs. Fedor Two big beasts with a lot of talent.
4. Roger Huerta or Sean Sherk vs. Diego Sanchez Would be an interesting fight no matter who was in this fight
5. BJ Penn Dont; care who he fights, I just love to watch this man fight in the Octagon.

Fedor vs Barnett is number one for me at the moment. It used to be Filho vs silva Filho sucks, dude. There'se no way around it. I never even saw him a being that good back in the PRIDE days when he looked, well, better than he is today. The absence of drug testing in Japan is really showing us alot about some fighters. Filho was definitely taking advantage.

Filho is incredibly over rated.
Add that to his steroids/cocaine/painkiller addiction/Mike Tyson tattoo, and he's just one big mess.

Steroids are a helluva drug. What ever happened, steroids can't make you a great fighter. Actually it can. It enhanced his intensity, and his mental aspect was all there. Now, he's a shell of his former self, look at him. He refuses to commit to anything, can't even convince himself to give a damn enough to make weight, and is clearly out of it in the middle of the Octagon. Steroids made him the fighter he was.
