Being that this was only 2-3 years ago, I didn't think it belonged in the classic thread. Upon Youtubing, I have come to the conclusion that this is how the relaunch should've stayed. The new breed came into play later & was fine but the feel of these shows was really unbelievable. The show now is hardly even third rate considering there's maybe 3 matches on the whole show. Anyone else?

In all honesty, there was no way it could've stayed like that and coexisted with RAW and SmackDown!. I love the original ECW as much as the next guy--if not more, but I'm glad they did away with it instead of trying to recreate the good days and doing a poor job. ECW has taken on a new life and has given us some of the best the WWE currently has to offer as far as new talent goes (i.e. CM Punk, John Morrison, the Miz, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder [as the Major Brothers], Kelly Kelly, etc.), so I'm actually really happy with the currect ECW.

At first I wasn't crazy about it but, one of the other aspects of this that later I absolutely loved was moving Kurt Angle to ECW. The wrestling machine bit fit rather well.

i hate how ecw is just the exact same thing now as raw and smackdown except without the stars. what's the point of it having it's own brand?

I hear you there as far as new stars are concerned, I personally thought Morrison/Punk owned. There is something lacking though. The originals added to it. I hate seeing Dreamer job out every time he's on TV.

It's appearent that ECW is the entry brand now. I honestly love it! It's like HEAT but with storylines if you get me. ECW has been the place for young guys to shine without being overshadowed by the main eventers which is what would happen on RAW and SD.

WWE said i think they got rid of the Extreme aspect a few months in, because it was too risky for their workers.
ECW today is not the same from even 06, and thats the way WWE wants it. They got rid of the old guys, brought in the new breed, changed the announcers, changed the belt, changed the GM, took ECW out of ONS, and it wont be long before ECW doesnt stand for Extreme Championship Wresting.

Yeah that I know. Also, I think we all know that Vince doen't really like anything that isn't his idea. He takes it and changes it until it has his stamp on it.

things wouldve been different, at least a LITTLE bit, had RVD and sabu not gotten arrested, and if angle's issues didn't come up
