mmmm boo.
I feel bad for Okami. Is he not the next in line? I would have rather seen Okami or Maia. It is sad that he won't be fighting until April. =/
Oh well, I expect this fight to be nothing but a full display for Silva of everything he has. He seemed very disappointed by his last fight and I don't see him going in this one hesitant in the least.

Okami needs a big win, and I don't think Dean Lister will give him a big enough win to warrant a title shot. I think Okami and Maia need to face off afterwards in order to determine the #1 contender.

I'm excited because its the Spider, but the fight itself, eh. I would MUCH rather see a rematch between Okami and Silva or Maia get a shot.

A fight I would love to see but I know it won't happened due to the fighters checkered UFC record is Jason Macdonald vs. Anderson Silva.
But I think Okami could fight for the title right now...the guy has beaten Alan Belcher, Kaib Starnes(when people still thought the guy was talented), Jason Macdonald, Mike Swick, and Evan Tanner. His only disappointing fight in awhile was against Rich Franklin but other than that the guy has been on a streak. The only thing bad to say about the guy is that he rarely finishes fights but if Machida is in talks for getting a title shot I think Okami should, too.
But most likely the UFC will go with the winner of Okami/Lister gets Maia and that fight is to determine the number one contender.
Maia vs. Silva is a fight I would love to see...but I would also like to see Silva avenge his loss..

100% Anderson win!!
I thought Anderson was looking for the best fights? this seems a little odd, no disrespect to Leites but I could name a few people who are in line or could give Silva a better shot.

I thought Anderson was looking for the best fights? this seems a little odd, no disrespect to Leites but I could name a few people who are in line or could give Silva a better shot. This is true, but the kinda-sorta not-sure-if-it-really-qualifies-as-sad thing is that Thales would be able to make a decent claim that he's deserving of a title shot if it were anybody other than Anderson Silva. For me, I'd just like to see a return to the Silva of old. My biggest fear (in regards to Silva) is that his bizarre handling of the Cote match is an indication that he's lost some motivation on the way towards his retirement. Even one of the greatest of all time is allowed at least one snooze-fest, though. That said, I still think Silva takes this one easily, regardless if old Silva or "Cote Silva" shows up. I just hope that "old Silva" comes back in force if he really does plan to retire. That said, this may be just a shot in the dark, but part of me feels that Dana isn't pulling the trigger on Anderson Silva dream matches because he's still the champ. Unlike something like BJ Penn/GSP where both men are just getting into their reigns, Anderson Silva's complete decimation of the middleweight division is definitely going to go down in the history books. I truly believe that Dana would like for Silva to "pass the torch" before giving us some Light Heavyweight dream matches, but Silva's proved time and time again that "the torch" isn't going anywhere.

I say there is about an 80% chance of me making the trip to Montreal and watch this PPV. I dont care if Silva fights a tomato can I'm pumped to watch Anderson live!
With it being in Montreal, I wonder if GSP (hoping of course he gets passed Penn, which obviously is a huge task) might take on Alves? Now that would be unreal.

What about Brock vs. Mir on the same PPV as Silva vs. Leites...now that would be worth ordering

I think, if anything, this shows that UFC has pretty much given up on Anderson Silva turning into the money draw that they thought he would be. Let's be honest, if the priority was for Anderson Silva to face the biggest and the best, then he'd move up to his natural weight class of 205 and perhaps have that big Chuck Liddel fight. I'm not trying to bash Leites, but does anyone really even possibly think that he stands even the remotest of chances against Silva?
Then again, I don't want to assume anything. Maybe this is to keep Silva active to set up a future fight with St. Pierre or while they get some of the big, division defining 205 matches (Franklin/Henderson, Shogun/Coleman, Machida/Silva, etc...) out of the way. Or maybe they'll just keep putting Silva against tomato cans, who knows. All I'm saying is, if UFC wants to call Anderson Silva the best in the world, then he's gonna have to actually face someone who has a chance of possibly beating him. And at this point, I don't think there's anyone in the Middleweight Division who does.
