I love Matt Hughes, he was the most dominant Welter of all time, anyone think its time for a change of direction for this former great champion!
I feel a drop to lightweight or a move up to middle would be a crazy change. which do you think will suit him more? most will say lightweight but i could see him doing a decent amount of damage in the middle, lightweight he would wipe out most of the division for sure.

Id say just have his last match and retire. I mean. I dont know how much damage he is going to do now....

He beat Royce Gracie so he's an all time great in my book. BUT I do think he's coming to the end of the road with fighting and all.

Yeah, Matt Hughes is definitely one of the best, no question about it. However, after he got defeated by Thiago Alves, he said he's one more fight left in him and we all know that he still wants a piece of Matt Serra.
That fight has got to happen at some point before Matt Hughes retires. It should've happened nearly two years ago now, but Serra got injured or so he said. I still have my doubts whether or not Serra was ducking Hughes. Oh well, doesn't matter.
Serra hasn't fought since he got destroyed by Georges St. Pierre last April, so he's got to be due for a fight coming up sometime soon.
And I'm sure Matt Hughes is all healed up since losing to Alves. If they are ready to go, then I hope UFC finally signs a fight between Hughes & Serra.
I'd pick Hughes all the freaking way. I don't believe Hughes will allow himself to be defeated by Matt Serra. It would be a great fight and I hope it happens SOON!!

As far as I know.
Serra got hurt.
Hughes got hurt.
Serra got married.
Hughes had another kid.
That's why this damn fight is taking so long.
I believe Matt Serra vs. Matt Hughes should probably be both of their last fights for awhile. Perhaps Hughes final fight of all.

I don't believe Hughes will allow himself to be defeated by Matt Serra. It would be a great fight and I hope it happens SOON!! Few things: 1. I agree that Serra/Hughes is the only fight that makes sense right now for either of them. 2. Serra ducking hughes? Serra's last two fights were against the #1 welter in the UFC, the guy that OBLITERATED Hughes twice. And now suddenly Serra's scared of Hughes? If anything, Serra's got to be confident right now. Serra smashed GSP and GSP has dominated Hughes twice now. I know, I know, MMA math is stupid but still, it has to do something for Serra's confidence. Besides, Serra does not strike me, or probably anyone, as the type to fake a back injury so he can miss out on the biggest grudge fight of his career. Not to mention, think of how long it put him out of action, the payday he missed, and the fact that at the end of the day, he STILL fought GSP twice. Serra has balls and wouldn't duck Hughes. Besides, what good does it do Serra to duck him? All he'd be doing if he did was deny himself a chance to waste Hughes, who is definitely on the slide. 3. I seriously doubt Hughes is 100% yet. From what I understand he ed up his ACL and MCL in the Alves fight. Those are some of the worst sports injuries you can have. If he fights before May/June I'll be impressed.
