now this is about the PPV-held from 1993-2002 not the tourneuy that was held in the 80s.
I have to say yes.........just look at the winners
93-Bret Hart-Face 94-Owen Hart-Heel 95-Mabel-Heel 96-Steve Austin-Heel 97-HHH-Heel 98-Ken Shamrock-Face 99-Billy Gunn-Heel 00-Kurt Angle-Heel 01-Edge-face 02-Brock Lesnar-Heel
so the heels have it 7 to 3........when you think about it it did springboard many a heel to titles in the same year
discuss

It seems to be that much easier to push a heel with a King gimmick than a face so that probably explains it. Unless a face is really over at that point it is hard to understand why they would give the spot to them.
It's like the Rumble. It is easier to tell a story about the good guy finally getting his big break than say a heel.

What are we supposed to discuss? How it's easier to have a heel champion as compared to a face champion?

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Edge a heel when he won the KOTR, not a face.

The first edition itself was also very heel dominant....
Yokozuna defeated Hogan for the belt.
Jerry Lawler destroyed Bret Hart during his crowning ceremony.
HBK defeated Crush and kept the IC Belt

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Edge a heel when he won the KOTR, not a face. Kind of. I guess he was a de facto babyface against Kurt Angle in their match, and then the next night, he had the crowd on his side with the "Billy Bitchcakes" promo... And then the Invasion happened, and everyone (besides X-Pac) in the WWF was a babyface. Just checked a recap of the Smackdown three days before that KOTR... It's formatted awfully, so I'm gonna try and fix it a little, but this is a transcript of the promo involving the KOTR competitors: So I guess Edge kinda turned babyface on Angle there? I think you could consider 2001 KOTR Edge as a tweener.

well as everyone said - the "King" gimmick has been used by heels since the time of harley race etc. It doesn't fit the persona of a babyface so makes sense to have a heel KOTR - all snobby - I mean look what it did to Booker T - he became a snob sucka'!

welll taking the title of "king" in my opinion seems to be what a heel reverts to when he cant be called "champion" ala booker and regal...having a face go around calling them selfs a king seems kinda pointless
