So I bought tickets to UFC 96, I'm flying in the day before (friday), I locked down a hotel for two nights, close to the venue, figuring cabs to the venue....So all that's in check.
I'm just wondering since this is my first live event a few random (and probably stupid things), that maybe some people who have gone before can answer.
- Do you have to buy tickets to the weigh-ins? That happens the day before, where? If it's open to the public to people with tickets get prefered seating?
- Do people watch the tron (big screen) or do people try to watch the fight from whatever distance their at?
- Is it a good idea to drink throughout the event? As far as bathroom goes, and time in between fights?
- Are there any chances to meet the fighters before or after events? Or will it just be, hey I ran into this guy at my hotel type deal.
- Anyone going to this show?
- Is the Arnold Weekend, or whatever it's called....worth checking out? For the grappling and judo tournaments?
I'll probably think of more, thanks for any answers!

Ah Right on Man Im going too! I'm in section 102. This will be my 4th event. -Weigh Ins are free you dont need tickets, but it can reach capacity so you have to get their early, and it happens at Nationwide Arena (they block off a section of the arena) and no there is no preferred seating. First come. First Serve -Usually as long as youre above the floor you have a great view of the octagon. Unlike WWE people actually sit down during fights so the view is great 90% of the time -Bathrooms are ALWAYS backed up. I suggest bringing an extra cup to piss in. lol -You may meet fighters there, sometimes they come up to concessions to get something to drink/eat. I met Marcus Davis and Ken Flo at UFC 77 in a bathroom. Weird I know. -The Arnold Classic is fun, especially for the aspiring weight lifter. Fighters are there usually also siging autographs. (Couture was at the Arnold Classic in 2007) -I've been to UFC 68, 77, and 82 and theyre all amazing. Trust me dude youre going to have a blast! -

Section 120 guy here.
Kenflo and Marcus Davis in a bathroom? It's like a joke, "I walked into the bathroom with these two guys from boston"
Yeah I was expecting the bathroom situation to be hell.
I'm really hoping for the Rashad vs. Rampage fight to be added.
And yeah I'm really glad to hear people sit down, at alot of wrestling events I've been to people stand the whole f'ing time.

Weigh-ins are free, but I'd suggest getting there very early. I went to one in Vegas, which had a lot of seating, so everyone got in. I also went to the one in Chicago, which didn't have as much, so some people didn't get in. The weigh-ins are also pretty quick, as it only lasts an hour, tops. ___________________________________________________________________

There are screens all over the building, but you should watch the fight from where you are at. It would be pointless to sit there & watch a screen when you could do the same thing from home. ___________________________________________________________________
- Is it a good idea to drink throughout the event? As far as bathroom goes, and time in between fights?
I'd base it on you're bladder. It does get annoying having to keep getting up so people can keep making beer runs. I usually get 2 at the same time & then I'm done. I've got a strong bladder so I usually don't ever have to get up. Just don't be one of the pricks who gets wasted & thinks he can fight everyone ___________________________________________________________________
- Are there any chances to meet the fighters before or after events? Or will it just be, hey I ran into this guy at my hotel type deal.
Some guys, not many might sign after the weigh-ins. The Vegas show I was at had a few guys at a booth signing before the weigh-ins but I don't hear of that too often anymore. ___________________________________________________________________

If you are looking to meet the fighters, then I hope you booked a room at the closest hotel to the venue. The closer, the better. Trust me, I know that for a 100% FACT from my experience in Montreal at UFC #83.
I must've met at least 30+ fighters and UFC personalities at the hotel I stayed at including Rich Franklin, GSP, Dan Henderson, David Loiseau, Bruce Buffer, Mike Goldberg, Nate Quarry, referees Big Dan Miragliotta and Steve Mazzagatti, Roger Huerta, Kenny Florian, Sam Stout, Jason MacDonald, matchmaker Joe Silva, Mark Delagrotte and on and on. They were all there!!
It was a friggin' blast getting to meet all the guys. And I hope to do it all over again at UFC #97 coming up.

I went to the UFC in LA main event was pitbull VS Tim .I forgot what number it was.It was soo freaking sick! man we paid for nose bleed seats and moved up as close as we could.Back then it wasnt sold out.No one cared.I swear on my moms life that RVD was like 10 seats behind us this was while he was champ.I felt to nervous to go shake his hand he looked pissed off. After the show was over we went to the floor and walked right up to the octagon and took pics Joe and goldie were still rapping up the show.I met coutore and a whole bunch of fighters on the floor.SOme were trying to husle there way out but some would let u take pics and shake hands and what not.It was the best live event i ever been too.HAVE FUN !
