Both men came forward took to a tie up, which would see Calvin Lee on the receiving end. The match was evenly paced; at times almost seeming as if Lee was toying with Reckless. Reckless had enough of Calvin Lee’s games and shoved him in the corner, as Lee received chops across the chest; thinking quickly, Lee caught one of Reckless’ incoming chops, took him through an arm wrench, hoisted him and planted him with the Wrist Clutch Burning Hammer; Calvin Lee covered him.
Winner By Pinfall, Calvin Lee
Singles Match
Kurt Burton vs. EBR
Kurt Burton looked excellent in this first match in several months. As soon as the bell rang he was quick to draw the advantage, thrusting EBR to the mat with an array of technical holds. EBR was unwillingly forced to match wits and participate in this “wrestling clinic”. And while respectable, at one point in a front-face lock EBR shoved Kurt Burton off and called time-out, attempting to catch his breath.
From there the match turned into a battle of ground and pound, and while normally EBR would have the decisive advantage, he looked surprisingly apprehensive with both his blows and moments to strike (or moments he didn’t, more appropriately). In one particular instance, after performing a Running Lariat in the corner Kurt Burton fell to a seated position. In what would normally be a logical segway to the Face-Lift Drop Kick, EBR instead opted to drag his body onto the canvas and perform an unsuccessful pin attempt.
While a step back for EBR, Kurt Burton arguably looked more impressive then his initial run in the WFWF. After a Slingshot and Belly to Belly Suplex Burton applied the Sharpshooter as EBR clawed to the ring ropes. As he neared, Burton methodically switched the hold to an STF, in turn allowing him to push EBR’s hands away from possibly clutching the ropes. With the move applied for nearly a minute in length, EBR was able to show impressive strength and roll himself and Burton over onto the latter’s back. He connected with several bruising elbows to Burton’s face and was able to finally break the hold.
As both returned to a standing position Burton was quick to rush EBR and attempt a Polish Hammer, but the current Tag Team Champion ducked at the last second and ran to the ring ropes. Kurt Burton turned around after the rebound and was immediately kicked in the face with EBR’s Diving Yakuza Kick. Immediately afterwards he performed the Gasoline Dreams for a near three count.
Thinking the match was his for the taking EBR Irish whipped Burton and attempted the Welcome To Detroit, but on the way down Burton was able to position his body and connect with a Front Drop-Kick for the counter. Unfortunately for EBR, that remained his last offensive surge for several minutes in the match. Burton was able to work EBR over, drilling him into his knee with a Back-Breaker. In the closest pin attempt of the match, Burton grabbed EBR’s head and ran up the turnbuckles and used the momentum to slam EBR down with a Ninja. The match would have been over had it not been for EBR’s foot on the rope.
Swiping his arms, Kurt Burton looked for the end with the Feedback. As he mounted EBR’s back and attempted to hook his head, EBR showed surprising speed and rolled forward. Sending Burton onto his stomach, EBR quickly untangled himself, leaped over his opponent, ran to the ring ropes, and smacked him upside the head with the Motor City Machete.
The effects of the match taking its toll, EBR was slow to take advantage of an opportune moment. As he pulled Burton up to his feet he was caught off guard with a low blow, unseen by the referee. Burton hooked EBR’s arms and looked for the Acid Crunch, but before it could be completed EBR lifted his head and carried Burton to the corner, throwing him into the turnbuckles with an Alabama Slam type maneuver. As Burton came crashing face down, EBR dragged him out by his arm and applied the One Blood. After several moments of the hold Burton was ruled unconscious, and the match was awarded to EBR.
Winner by Submission, EBR
Grudge Match
Pierce Deville vs. Thunder
Thunder came forward with a tie-up attempt, but Deville pushed him away and followed through with a stiff Mongolian Chop across both sides of Thunder’s shoulders. Thunder dropped down to one knee, as Deville took Thunder’s hand in his and sends him into the ropes; Thunder came charging forward as Deville caught Thunder, but quickly, Thunder wriggled away from Deville’s grasp and took him down with a German Suplex- Thunder bridged it for the cover, but Peirce Deville kicked out at two. Both men quicly gained their ground as Thunder came charging into Deville; Deville hooked Thunder up for a hiptoss, but Thunder motioned through, blocked it, and came dashing forward with a shining wizard; Peirce Deville ducked it and quickly caught Thunder down with a reverse neckbreaker. Deville motioned for the three count, but Thunder wisely rolled out of the ring.
Thunder leaned against the apron to recuperate, but this proved to be a mistake, as Pierce Deville crashed into Thunder with a baseball slide; shoving Thunder into the security rail. Thunder motioned away, as the referee forced Deville away from Thunder. Thunder, leaning once again on the apron, began to mock Deville with a smile. Seeing this, Deville motioned the referee aside and charged forward with another baseball slide, but Thunder motioned away and caught Deville’s legs as it slipped between the ropes and shoved him down hard into the arena floor. Thunder mounted Deville, grabbed him by the skull and shoved it into the floor. Thunder shoved Deville over the rail and into the first few rows. Thunder paced back before charging to Deville, but Deville quickly leapt upon the rail, took air, and crashed upon Thunder with an Axe Handle Smash; crashing upon Thunder’s head. Thunder slumped down to a knee and Deville followed up with an STO on the arena floor. Deville picked Thunder by the head, shoved him into the ring, and cover him for the three count; Thunder reached his arms to the bottom rope at two.
Deville dragged Thunder to the center of the ring and attempted another pin attempt, but this time Thunder kicked out at two. Deville rose and pulled Thunder by the hair, but Thunder began fighting his way up, with shots across Deville’s face; Thunder followed with a thumb to the eye. Thunder pushed Deville away and ran into the ropes and hit Deville with a knee across the mid-section. Thunder placed Deville on a standing Fireman’s Carry and set him up for the Thunder & Lighting, but Deville fought his way out of Thunder’s grasp; through a series of elbow shots across Thunder’s shoulder. Thunder dropped to a knee, as Deville continued to fire away elbows into Thunder’s shoulders and quickly applied the Gridlock; but Thunder tried to find a way out of it. Deville hoisted Thunder and droped him with a Katahajime Suplex; Deville floated over and reapplied the Gridlock; Thunder tapped.
The Winner: Pierce Deville
LSD 2 Match
(LightTubes, StapleGuns, and Dumpsters)
Obo vs. Percy
Obo is backstage and looking rather displeased, a hooded sweatshirt covering him completely as he sways back and forth, possibly to music or possibly to his own mind. A quick figure walks by and Obo throws his hood off and removes his ear phones. Obo with a perplexed look on his face as he stands up, exiting the room.
Percy is already in the ring with a light tube in hand as we cut back to the ring from the previous segment. Also at ringside is a giant dumpster and in the ring are a bunch more light tubes and a staple gun. It’s time for LSD take 2.
The lights come to a quick dim and the camera focuses up tightly on the big screen, blacking out the entire arena. Nothing is seen for a moment, until finally coming back up as the opening introduction of the song begins, scenes of violence flashing with it. Obo throws Reverend Shadow into the barbed wire ropes as the first chorus hits. With this, a quick scene of Obo nailing his tree of woe double stomp hits over the big screen before fading away, quickly replaced with a scene of a vicious Yakuza kick as the song echoes through the arena Finally the vocals of the song begin and Obo makes his way through the curtain, the WFWF Heavyweight championship draped over his shoulder carelessly. Obo makes his way down the ramp and slides in under the bottom rope, hoping back to his feet and climbing to the second rope for a pose as "Bite the Hand that Bleeds" cuts off. Obo slides off and quickly stretches, handing the WFWF Heavyweight title off to the referee.
The bell sounds and this match is under way. Percy rushes at Obo and swings the light tube, but Obo ducks and grabs a light tube of his own. Obo swings high but Percy ducks. Percy aims for the feet but Obo jumps right over it. Obo with a straight down swing but Percy sidesteps and runs into the ropes. Obo follows the lead. The two meet back at center ring and both go for cross body blocks, breaking their light tubes center ring as we come to a stalemate.
Obo is the first back to his feet and he grabs the staple gun. He pulls Percy up by his loose fitting flannel shirt. He puts the flannel over Percy’s face and fires a quick staple AND THE SHIRT IS STUCK!! Percy struggles to get it free and Obo fires a second staple right into his stomach. Percy pulls the flannel off of his face and Obo grabs his goatee. Percy is screaming in pain as Obo pulls him to the ropes. Obo lets go of the goatee, but quickly switches to holding Percy’s tongue. He pulls the tongue down and puts it to the rope before firing off a staple and PERCY IS STAPLED TO THE RING ROPE BY HIS TONGUE!!
Obo to the outside as Percy struggles to get his tongue free. Obo lifts up the ring skirt and looks underneath before coming back out with a bottle of lighter fluid. He slides back into the ring and starts spraying the flammable fluid all over Percy’s back. Thunder’s seen enough as he comes rushing down the ramp. Thunder into the ring, but he’s too late because Obo lights Percy on fire anyways.
Thunder pulls his shirt off and smacks Percy rapidly, trying to put out his former stable mate. But what the hell, Jake Slash through the crowd and into the ring as the flames grow on Percy. He comes running into the ring and rushes Obo, but gets a Yakuza Kick into light tubes for his troubles. Jake Slash, I’m sorry but our princess is in another castle.
Percy is finally extinguished and Thunder is going after Obo now. The Scars & Stripes main event is about to EXPLODE!! Thunder in Obo’s face, but Obo isn’t backing down, but through the crowd comes Pierce Deville!! Where is arena security tonight? Pierce into the ring and he sneaks from behind Thunder unknown. Choke out from Pierce!! Obo is stomping him and Pierce is yelling something. Obo goes to the top rope and Pierce is nodding an angry grin. Obo dives off and nails a double stomp right into the stomach of Thunder, who is still being choked out by The Deville!
With assistance from the referee, a charred Percy is free from the ropes now. Deville has let Thunder free and he retreats, leaving Percy for dead. Obo slides out of the ring and lifts the lids of the dumpster up and the dumpster is full of light tubes! Obo back into the ring where Deville is kicking Percy hard in the ribs. Obo pulls Percy up and requests Deville’s help. Between the two of them, they lift the rather plump Panhandler up above them. A couple of steps forward and they launch him, tossing him from inside of the ring to the outside into the dumpster full of light tubes.
Center ring now and it’s just Deville and Obo remaining. Deville smirks to Obo and rolls out of the ring.
This match is a no contest.
The Main Event
The Higher Authority (ThaCBT & Reverend Shadow) vs. Wayne McGurk & Yukio Blaze
After discussion on both sides, McGurk and CBT are chosen by their respective teams to begin the match. CBT locks in a side headlock after a collar-and-elbow tieup, but the more powerful McGurk forces out of it and sends CBT into the ropes, hitting him with a sidewalk slam afterwards. He then makes a quick tag to Blaze, who hits CBT with a backdrop driver and goes for a pin. 1…2…CBT kicks out. Blaze expresses his problem about the decision with the referee, allowing CBT just enough time to shake off the cobwebs. He nearly knocks Blaze’s head off with a brutal clothesline and then hits him with a backdrop before tagging in Reverend Shadow.
Shadow waits for Blaze to get up and then hits him with a brutal spear. For the next several minutes Shadow and CBT show off the their great teamwork by keeping Blaze isolated in their corner and making quick tags. Blaze finally sees a window of opportunity after CBT tags in Shadow. He hits Shadow out of nowhere with a Pele kick and makes the hot tag to McGurk.
McGurk sends both Shadow and CBT with big lariats before hitting Shadow with a huge chokeslam. He then charges at Shadow to hit a running big boot, but Shadow moves out of the way. CBT then quickly jumps on the apron, distracting the referee just long enough for Shadow to hit the Bible Thump. He is pinning McGurk once the referee turns around. 1…2…Blaze breaks it up. Now CBT has also rushed into the ring and the referee has lost all control. After much brawling, Blaze hits Shadow with a clothesline that sends them both over the top rope, leaving only CBT and McGurk left in the ring. Somehow, CBT lifts McGurk up for the Pon de Replay, but McGurk slips out and hits Dead End for the three count.
The Winners: Wayne McGurk & Yukio Blaze
The lights suddenly dim as a familiar scene from last year's Super Brawl begins to play over the video screen. A steel cross, held by chains, makes its way down to the ring and and lays flat. Kyzer drags Rev to his feet and throws him onto the cross. He then rolls out of the ring and goes under it where he grabs a reel of barbed wire. He throws it into the ring and then grabs a steel chair and throws that in as well. Kyzer enters the ring again and Rev is getting up. Kyzer smashes him with a chair and then goes about tying him to the cross with the barber wire. He wraps it around Rev's arms and then his legs so that he can't move without slashing himself.
Kyzer then signals again and the chains lose their slack. The cross stands up and Rev screams in pain as the barbs dig into him. Kyzer then places a circle of barbed wire on Rev's head crowning him. He pulls the crown down so that it digs into his forehead causing even more blood to pour from Reverend Shadow. The ref decides he has seen enough and calls for the bell.
Reverend Shadow stares at the video screen with anger as he watches what transpired a year ago. Suddenly a familiar song blasts out over the speakers. "Absent" by Snot begins to play as everyone knows whose music that is. Reverend Shadow watches in disbelief as "Your Stoned Messiah" comes across the video screen. It switches to a video of Michael Kyzer brutalizing Reverend Shadow during their match last year. "Your Heroin Hero" flashes over the screen, as it goes to Reverend Shadow being sent through a light tube cabin. "The Enigma" flashes over the screen before showing Reverend Shadow being brutalized the Kyzerlings. Finally the words "The God of F*ck" flash over the screen. They fade out and a picture of Kyzer's grinning faces comes over the screen. Reverend Shadow is so consumed watching the screen he doesn't see the person come into the ring behind him. The Kyzer on the screen speaks.
"Rev. you didn't think I would stay gone forever did you? That is so cute if you did. When I beat you last year, I had the time of my life. I never thought that crucifing someone could be so much fun. But I have to say, this thing that existed between us a year ago, this hatred. It is back, and I am back. So be on your guard. Hate is a powerful thing that can make some people do things you just didn't think they would do."
The figure behind Reverend lifts him onto his shoulders and hits an inverted death valley driver. The lights come on and Michael Kyzer is standing over the fallen Reverend. The crowd goes insane over his return. He goes over to the corner where a briefcase lies. He opens it up and pulls out that very same crown from last year's Super Brawl. He grabs a microphone and stands over Reverend Shadow.
"You see Reverend Shadow, after I left the WFWF, I realized that beating you was not just a victory over you, it was a victory over God. When I strapped you to that cross and placed this crown to your head, I was spitting on everything you loved, you believed in and I proved to you that even the devil has his day. I hate that I had to leave when I did. I hate that you rose up the ladder because I wasn't around anymore. I hate that you have seemed to forgotten me. I realized amongst all these hateful regrets that I simply hate you. I hate the WFWF. I hate everyone here. Hate it is such a strong word."
Kyzer leans down to Rev. Shadow as he tries to push himself up from the mat.
"I intend to show you just how strong that word is. When I do, you will understand me, you will thank me and forever remember me. I will make it where you will never forget about Kyzer again. My ego can't have that."
Kyzer drops the microphone as Rev. Shadow stumbles up. He is quickly caught by a snapping back kick to the jaw by Kyzer. Kyzer grins at the fallen Reverend. He walks over to the briefcase and opens it. He pulls out the very same crown from Super Brawl. He gently places on the chest of the fallen Reverend. Kyzer grabs the microphone.
"It is only fitting that I end the show, you created out of my absence. I gave your rise to fame and now I will be the bane of it."
Kyzer just stands amongst the booing crowd as "Absent" by Snot begins to play again.
