Does anybody have any information on how to clean your Sega Mega Drive/Genesis properly?
Whether it be a guide or some sort of cleaning device (a link to one would be handy)
I recently got a new TV and I set up all my old consoles on it, and the only one that isn't working is the Sega Mega Drive. I've cleaned the games but no luck, so I'm assuming the console itself needs cleaned.
Just sort of gently rub the q-tip along the contact points, you don't want to get deep down in there, that's what a can of compressed air is for. The q-tip itself isn't gonna do a whole lot but clean up any sort of gunk that may have gotten on the surface for whatever reason. Also, another thing that was a common issue with the original NES in particular was that the contact points would get bent out of shape, so very carefully using a thin enough object, you can sort of pull them back into place.
