My bet is NO. simply becasue there's been little to no build up on his end, no training videos or anything..unles they pull something outta the hat in the next two weeks, I see Joe leaving and coming back in a few months, to freshen up his character.

Yeah. I think the way they're building it up is good. Here's why, most of the "Main event feuds" over the title always has brawls and crapand then by the time they match gets here you're like "So? They've already touched each other before now" but this way Angle/Joe can't brawl with Joe not being on. Therefore at Lockdown it'll be their first meeting since the match was annouced. I think Joe will win, move on to feud with whoever. Angle goes down a notch and feuds with Styles (who turns face). My two cents.

Joe will win. TNA wouldn't throw him in yet another title match to lose. Plus, Angle has pretty much had title matches against everyone. Honestly, this was done poorly in the sense that it's pretty much too late for Samoa Joe. He really should have won the belt at BFG 06, or maybe even BFG 07. But they insisted on giving it to Sting both times instead only for him to lose it in his first defense each time. Joe will win here, but honestly, how much support will he really have? His pops are way down from what he used to be. I remember at the Dec PPV (I think), the crowd was cheering for Styles & Tomko to beat him.

Yes he will. Joe cut a promo on impact saying if he lost, he'd quit. So that right there says he will win.
It's very late, but at least we're getting a Joe TNA World Title run.

Way too late really. It should be better at this point that Angle retained, and next feuded with AJ Styles for the TNA World title, and AJ won it again. Then, Curry man stops being Curry man and is back as Christopher Daniels, and feuds with AJ Styles, he gets pushed to the main event, and eventually beats Styles and a classic match and gets his well deserved title run. I can dream, can't I?

Does it really matter anymore? Ever since Angle debuted, Joe's been ruined.

Joe winning, would hold the same value as Rhino having another go at it. Or AJ at this point in the game.
Joe's not entertaining me as of recent, and I blame TNA. The moment Joe left the X-Division, he should have embodied and invoked havoc on the Heavyweight division like it was made for him.

I can finally say...yes, he will.
But I doubt he will hold it up until BOund for Glory, I also think he's likely to lose it at KOTM, and I imagine he'll lose it....back to Angle.
I'm hoping for another AJ title reign by the end of the year, simply because all the fans have pretty much forgot hes a 3-time champ and the first triple crown champ.

They ruined Joe... making him soft and respectful and later on, whiny and political. He should've been the angry badass that says few words and only views 'respect' as a seven letter word. Now it's almost like they are giving Joe the title just to say they gave Joe the title... I mean where will they go once/if Joe takes the title now? Joe/Christian 95? Joe/Angle 234? Joe/AJ 435... though it would be entertaining. Joe/Booker T? Ugh... TNA really needs to start making some homegrowns look important because the staleness of their main event scene is becoming more and more apparent.

I would have said Joe-Storm or Joe-Roode, but both those have been established to a degree so really it's down to the likes of Tomko. By the way, correct me if i'm wrong, hasn't Joe only beat Tomko once while Tomko has like 3 pinfall victories over him? *washes keyboard after typing that*

As far as wins/losses between Joe and Tomko, my score is: Joe pinned Tomko in a 6 man at Turning Point Tomko pinned Joe in a tag title match at Final Resolution Joe made Tomko tap out in a 6 man at Destination X Tomko made Joe bleed in a first blood on a recent Impact ... that last one is the only one-on-one encounter they've had to my knowledge.

Not for the sake of argument, but I remember Tomko having one more unmentioned victory over Joe. EDIT: March 1st 2007, Cage nails a chair shot to Joe, and Tomko picks up the pinfall victory.
