Not sure if this has been reported.
Source:WrestlingInc.Com It probably wasn't the smartest idea for World Wrestling Entertainment to explain Randy Orton's recent rash of behavior by saying that he had IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder). According to a variety of medical web sites, IED is defined as "a behavioral disorder characterized by extreme expressions of anger, often to the point of uncontrollable rage."
What was even more interesting is that some medical web sites even link it to steroid use. Reports indicate that IE can be exacerbated by steroid use based on chemical changes in the person's brain.
Personally I would of just scripted it that he had Schizophrenia.

Half the guys on the roster could be classified as having IED.

i dont think it was that bad. the link to steroid use certainly isn't good for the wwe, but, orton does suffer from anger issues and has gone to a two or three week anger management course in atlanta. so, its somewhat related to his real life. he blamed his anger for his constant screw-ups and getting suspended. so, i kind of liked the way he did it.

If people are going to look that deep into it and somehow relate Orton's STORYLINE disorder to steroid use, then i say *** 'em.

Is Orton rippin off Benoit's gimmick? Let's hope not, for Samantha and Alanna's sakes. The IED thing is kinda corny, but it does play into Orton's real life anger issues, and it makes him seem like a dick trying to hide behind a disorder. He's meant to be a dick. |

Wasn't it easier to just say he snapped? He went crazy? He's a nutjob? Why do they need an actual mental disorder? To make it real? God forbid they come up with a made up illness. It would totally ruin the scientific reality the show has, you know, with Undertaker, Kane, The Boogieman...  |
