Personally, I prefer 1996-99 ECW, but there were good (and bad) matches and angles every year they existed. As far as the prime years for the guys you listed, I would say... Dreamer: 1995-2000 RVD: 1998-2000 Taz: 1996-1999 (best matches were 97 & 98, in my opinion) Dudleys: 1997-1999 Foley: 1994-96 Funk: 1994-97 Rey: 1995-96 Psicosis: 1995-96 I'll also mention that Yoshihiro Tajiri was awesome in 1999-2000. His matches with Super Crazy were great, and when he turned heel, it was even better. If you only saw Tajiri in WWE, go out of your way to check out his original ECW stuff. Fully agreed

Personally my favorite year for ECW was 1996. The end of Cactus's run which was great, lots of Raven, Taz starting to become Taz, and tons more. You asked about when they started getting televised and that is a tricky question. They pretty much had a TV Spot from their earliest days on Sports Channels in Philadelphia (and surrounding areas in Pennsylvania) and Florida. Then as the legend of ECW began to grow, the TV show got picked up by more and more local sports networks. Personally ECW finally arrived in my area at the end of 1995, was on at 3:30 in the morning, and was constantly pre-empted by soccer games or tennis, or whatever they were showing. Then in 1996 came the Beulah/Kimona lesbian incident, and they got dropped from a lot of their networks. However they continued to labor on, still showing on the channels that didn't drop them and relying on their home video service, and RF Video to keep them afloat. Then came the PPV deal, and still the show didn't get back on a good portion of the channels. Then came the TNN deal, and we all know how that ended! If you really want to get into old school ECW, I would highly suggest the following two compilations. www.rfvideo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1259www.rfvideo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1260Unfortunately they are both only available on VHS, and I know some people have issues ordering from Feinstein after the whole pedophilia incident.....but those two tapes are essential!!

It's time like this when we reminisce about ECW that you realise how much you miss it...
