First time posting in this thread. I've been a MOTU fan since the originals in the 80s. I've always been looking to get some of the Loyal Subjects figures, but found them to be too expensive especially not knowing who I would be getting. I just happened to be in Gamestop the other day & saw a brand new display box of 16 with a $6.99 price tag on them. I knew that was about half the price of everywhere else, so I decided to buy 2. To my surprise, they rang up at $3.49 at the register, as Gamestop has 50% all clearance this weekend. I bought all 16 & even got the box. They are now also available to buy on their website at that price - here.
I haven't gotten the chance to open any of them yet, but I'm looking forward to it in the next day or 2.

What did you get? I also bought a case of 16 and ended up getting 2X of all commons except for 1X He-Man, plus a 1/48 Teela!!

Those are really cool looking, love the old school look. What is the concept behind these?

Also, are the MOTU classic figures all typically $50 or am I just looking in all the wrong places? Trying to start a collection but that line is very expensive

They are making the new figures. You have to buy within the preorder period or you’re going to be stuck going secondary market. In terms of jumping into this line, it’s going to be expensive. Especially if you want the original Matty releases. You can check the Large and Evil store to see if you want any of the more recent releases that they may still have. eBay is just going to be expensive. If you’re willing to buy loose it’s a much cheaper option but I’d say $50 a piece is on the conservative end. The original Fisto and Sorcess are like $100 each loose. So it just depends. The main characters are generally more pricey. The line is amazing though. I think the figures are worth it. So if it’s not a burden to you financially I’d say go for it.

Ok good to know thanks a lot, now why is it that they’re so pricey? To me, at least from a afar they seem to have the same accessories and articulation as elites or marvel legends any idea?

The original figures were only released on Matty Collector. So they were limited online subscription releases and not mass release figures at retail. Super7 is essentially doing the same thing only you don’t have to sign up for a membership/subscription. You just have to buy within the subscription period. They are made to order and the production runs aren’t big. New figures directly from S7 are usually $35 plus shipping and tax. So it’s pretty much just that the original figures weren’t cheap and then they weren’t giant production runs so it’s just supply and demand. They are bulkier than a WWE or ML figure. So they are a more solid figure, but the price discrepancy is really more about availability.

The meme head is super funny but I would have liked a normal expression as an option too.

Is it quarterly or monthly or something? Really it’s hard to tell because Super7 just started to figure out production. They usually do 4 Filmation figures and 4 Classics figures up for preorder at the same time. Wave 2 preorder was just over in May. So we could see another preorder in the fall but they may not ship until January 2019. They do exclusives and some random vehicles inbetween but you’re really not looking at more than a couple of times a year based on how they are doing it now. They also started doing releases based on the original He-man figures from the 80s and they make He-man figures in the ReAction style as well. So it’s not just all Classics style figures from them all year long, and they’re a small company.
