Chris Leben suspended for steroid use is set to be cleared to return by July 09.
Meanwhile Wanderlei Silva is dropping to 185 and looking to fight in june or July.
Now I'm not saying this is going to happen.
But what a good 185 debut for Wanderlei and return for Leben, if the two squared off at 185.
Almost gaurunteed to be a slugfest/crowd pleaser, I'd be really interested in seeing this fight.
Anyone else?

I don't think Silva should move down, but whatever.

That would be an awesome fight and a good test for Wanderlei at 185. I honestly have no idea who would win.

That would be an awesome fight and a good test for Wanderlei at 185. I honestly have no idea who would win. Leben's been dropped once by Anderson, but no one else has been able to put this guy away. Wanderlei's been dropped a couple times now. It'd be a great test for Wanderlei like you said, because I'd guestimate that besides Silva, Leben's the hard hitter at 185.

Okay...I'm a huge Leben fan. So yeah, let's keep talking about this fight...so many fights happen just because one person thought of it, and people kept talking about it and talking about it, until it happened.
In a world that is begging for Bonnar vs. Griffin to happen again, we can give them Wanderlei vs. Leben.
I know, I doubt it will happen because we talked about it on this board. But a dude can dream.

At first thought, my mindset was "eww" but the more I think about it, the more I like it

I don't want Wanderlei dropping down. If he does, the guys are even faster down there than the are at 205. Silva's got some fights to win before he makes any crazy decisions. Honestly, if he loses his next fight, I'd like to see him hang it up.
Loss Loss Win Loss Loss Loss
If he loses again, that is going to be what his record looks like for his last 6 fights. Not pretty.

Honestly, if he loses his next fight, I'd like to see him hang it up. Loss Loss Win Loss Loss Loss If he loses again, that is going to be what his record looks like for his last 6 fights. Not pretty. I think you're adding another loss on there too soon, since he's only had 1 defeat since his last win. He's already 2-4 in his last 6. He beat some Japanese guy (I wanna say Fujita), then dropped 3 straight to CroCop, Hendo, and Chuck before beating Jardine and dropping another to Rampage. Granted, those are some damn fine names to be losing to, but I do see your point. His record would still look as... Loss Loss Loss Win Loss Loss ...assuming he loses to Leben and you were to add up his last 6. Leben is tough, but he seems timid compared to the types of guys that Wandy has thrown leather with before. If this fight were to happen, and he were to lose, I would definitely want him to call it quits. Still, if he were to win, I can't really see him having a lot of long term success at 185. He could have a few exciting fights, but unless Anderson decides to move up permanently to 205, there will likely always be a glass ceiling above Wandy's head at 185. Hell, there's already one over his head for 185, considering how he may be on the downside of his career, and prefers to be fairly 1 dimensional in fights. I'm obviously a Silva fan, so I'll watch him no matter where he decides to fight next. I'm also rooting for Dennis Kang to win his next fight so that maybe we can see Wandy-vs-Kang down the line.

I still think Silva is a force in either division...just because he lost to Rampage everyone says he is on the downside of his career but I don't look at it like that. Rampage is just a completely different fighter now.
I would love to see this fight..
