He's actually a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Booker T on 7/26/01, in Pittsburgh. It was during the InVasion angle, when WCW still had a World Champion. So, that'd be 9.
And he's not only a 2-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, but also a 1-time NWA Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Christian Cage and Sting in a Triple Threat Match, at Sacrifice, in 2007. After he won, thats when the title was vacated. So, thats 10.
I believe he counts his gold medals as one, which would make 11. And he was also the PPW Heavyweight Champion, which makes 12. So, we have:
1. 1996 Olympic Gold Medals 2. PPW Heavyweight Championship 3. WWF Championship ( The Rock ) 4. WCW Championship ( Booker T ) 5. WWF Championship ( Steve Austin ) 6. WWE Undisputed Championship ( Big Show ) 7. WWE Championship ( Brock Lesnar ) 8. World Heavyweight Championship ( Battle Royal ) 9. NWA Heavyweight Championship ( Christian Cage ) 10. TNA World Heavyweight Championship ( King of the Mountain ) 11. IWGP Heavyweight Championship ( Brock Lesnar ) 12. TNA World Heavyweight Championship ( Sting )
... I could be wrong, but I believe those are his "championships".

Dielawn, don't think the TNA Tag Team Championships would count as one of the reigns. If so, why not his WWE Tag Team title reign?

i'd say the NWA shouldn't count since the deal between TNA and NWA ended before the Sacrifice PPV, so NWA don't recognise the title change and Christian remained 'champion' before it was vacated.
Also, claiming the PPW? title as a World title can't be legitimately recognised. there's 6/7 MAJOR World titles which are recognised. it'd be like Rob Conway going around saying he's a 4 time world champion, for his OVW title wins.
As much as i dislike Triple H, all of his titles have been WWE or World titles, so i count them, not that it means much.

What the hell is a PPW? Like Matt Stovell said, it's not a world title. Nick Dinsmore is a 9-time Heavyweight champion by that logic.

He won the IWGP title by beating Lesnar, who was stripped of the title when he left New Japan.

I'd love to know how come his AMATEUR WRESTLING Gold Medals can be included with World championships....which as we know, is a part of the PRO WRESTLING business...
Is that 'SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT' then?
I'm sorry to ask a question on top of another question, but it's really sad to see.

PPW, Gold medals, tag belts.....none of those should count. IWGP, TNA, NWA.....they should.

he won the IGF version of the IWGP, when Lesnar still had possession of the belt even though it had been vacated when Lesnar couldn't work a show because of visa issues. therefore IWGP don't recognise it as their title being won.
i can understand counting 1 gold medal, since that is a world title.
i currently list his titles as-
1X Olympic Gold 4X WWE 1X WCW 1X World 2X TNA

IWGP (1X) PPW (1X) TNA (3X) TNA World Tag Team Titles (1x) WCW (1X) WWE TITLE (4X) WWE WHC (1X) I believe. If he counts his TT title as a world title win then he's just stupid because no one counts tag title wins as world title wins.
