MONDAY NIGHT RAW
(AIRDATE: DECEMBER 22 2003)
WWE logo appears on screen.
Footage from last Monday’s Raw is shown including the Jericho/Flair number one contender’s match which led to tonight’s main event ten man tag.
Coach: We are live here in San Antonio, Texas and we welcome you to Monday Night Raw. I’m Jonathan Coachman along with the Hot Rod Rowdy Roddy Piper at ringside. Tonight Hot Rod what a huge night we have in store.
Piper: Oh you ain’t kidding Coach. What about that huge main event.
Coach: It’s going to be a ten man tag team match as Nature Boy Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, and Chris Jericho take on World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas, Shelton Benjamin, Trevor Murdoch, and Lance Cade. Also on tap tonight Intercontinental Champion Christian in non-title action against John Bradshaw Layfield.
Piper: There’s just so much competition here in the WWE, it’s bursting at the seams.
Coach: Right now we are going to kick things off with a huge ten man Battle Royal as a preview of sorts for the upcoming Royal Rumble.
10 MAN BATTLE ROYAL:
The competitors are introduced which include Randy Orton, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, John Cena, Mr. Kennedy, Gregory Helms, Sycho Sid, Triple H, Paul London, and the Sandman.
Coach: What a field of Superstars in this one including an ECW original the Sandman. Here we go.
Kennedy pounds on London. Matt Hardy kicks Sandman and plants him with a bulldog. Jeff Hardy and Gregory Helms go at it. Orton and Sid battle. Triple H starts to hammer away on John Cena. London misses a heel kick into the corner on Kennedy. Kennedy picks up London and delivers the Green Bay Plunge. Kennedy sends London over the top and he hangs on. Kennedy then kicks London in the face and he falls to the floor.
Coach: What a shot by Kennedy on the Cruiserweight Champion who is the first to be eliminated.
Jeff Hardy delivers a face buster slam on Helms. Sandman works over Matt Hardy. Matt hooks the Sandman in a back suplex dropping him on Helms. Jeff Hardy then goes to the top and delivers the Swanton Bomb, but receives a clothesline from Triple H as he gets to his feet. The Game goes for the Pedigree, but Matt Hardy nails Triple H and goes for the Twist of Fate, but Triple H blocks it and pushes him to the ropes and connects with the spine buster.
Piper: There are so many body parts moving in this match its tough to keep up with it all.
Coach: Just imagine what it will be like when there are sixty Superstars in the Royal Rumble.
John Cena scoops up Triple H and tries to dump him out, but the Game hangs on. Randy Orton spins Cena around and hit’s the RKO. Sycho Sid then kicks Orton and gives him the power bomb. Kennedy nails Sid and pushes him out of the ring.
Coach: Wow Sid is out courtesy of the brash Mr. Kennedy.
Matt Hardy gives Kennedy the Twist of Fate. Orton pounds on Hardy and nails him with uppercuts, but then gets caught in a John Cena spinning slam. Cena delivers the 5 knuckle shuffle. Cena then turns to Sandman and gives him the FU. Triple H gets a hold of Cena and sends him into the ring post. Jeff Hardy dropkicks Sandman out to the floor.
Coach: The Sandman has been put to rest thanks to Jeff Hardy. Could one of these men be the winner of the Royal Rumble on January 25 in Philadelphia?
Gregory Helms delivers a Shining Wizard to Jeff Hardy. Helms stomps on Hardy and puts him up over the ropes and tries to push him out. Hardy holds on. Matt Hardy nails Helms and goes for the Side Effect, but Helms elbows out and plants Matt with a DDT. Randy Orton then hits Helms with an RKO and tosses him out of the ring.
Piper: And there goes Mr. Helms. Thanks for coming.
Mr. Kennedy attacks Orton. Orton fires back. Kennedy tries for the Mic Check, but Orton blocks it. Matt and Jeff Hardy deliver double dropkicks to Orton and Kennedy. Triple H tries to get rid of Cena, but he won’t go over. Matt Hardy whips Kennedy into the corner. He whips Orton into Kennedy. Matt drops down and Jeff uses him as a launching pad for Poetry in Motion.
Coach: That’s classic Hardy Boyz tag team action right there.
Jeff goes to the top for Whisper in the Wind, but Kennedy moves and he nails his brother with it. Kennedy grabs Matt Hardy and dumps him from the ring.
Piper: That turned out to be a fatal error as Matt Hardy has been eliminated thanks to his brother Jeff and Mr. Kennedy is still hanging in there.
John Cena tackles Triple H coming off the rope. He nails him again and then connects with a suplex. Cena clotheslines Kennedy as well. Orton then clotheslines Cena. Triple H gives Jeff Hardy a face buster and drills him with the Pedigree. Triple H goes to push Hardy over, but Kennedy comes from behind and pushes them both out. Hardy and Triple H land in front of a ringside Ken Shamrock who is viewing the action.
Coach: Mr. Kennedy continues to impress in his short stay thus far in the WWE.
Randy Orton nails Kennedy with the reverse neck breaker. He does the same to Cena.
Coach: It all comes down to these three individuals. Randy Orton looks coiled like a snake ready to strike.
Randy Orton goes for the RKO on Cena, but he pushes him off into Mr. Kennedy who delivers the Mic Check. Cena then charges off the ropes, but Kennedy ducks and Cena hit’s the canvas with a missed cross body attempt. Kennedy scoops up Cena, but he slips out and then picks up Kennedy and gives him the FU over the top to the floor.
Piper: Kennedy is out! Kennedy is out!
Randy Orton comes up behind Cena, but he drops down pulling down the top rope and Orton goes over the top to the floor.
Coach: It’s over and John Cena has done it. Cena has won this Battle Royal and has given himself some all important momentum heading into the 60 man Royal Rumble match. What a night it is going to be in Philly.
Mean Gene heads towards the ring to get a word with Cena, but Orton and Kennedy both get back in the ring and start working over Cena. The sound of glass shattering hits and Stone Cold Steve Austin heads to the ring.
Piper: I think we may be in for another Rumble here.
Austin hit’s the ring and nails Orton with a Stunner. Austin goes for Kennedy, but he rolls out of the ring and heads towards the back. Cena reaches out to Austin with his hand. Austin shakes it and then gives Cena a Stunner.
Coach: The Texas Rattlesnake has struck again and he too will be in the Royal Rumble match and everyone will be looking for their opportunity to go to WrestleMania in the main event and challenge for either the World Title or the WWE Championship. Monday Night Raw is off and running!

WWE Rewind: Monty Brown arrives at Survivor Series and helps cause Hulk Hogan’s elimination.
MONTY BROWN VS. HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN
Brown and Duggan lock up. Brown pounds on Duggan and connects with a belly to belly suplex as Layla looks on.
Coach: The Alpha Male has certainly been impressive since arriving on the scene here with his associate Layla. Monty Brown made an impact right off the bat at Survivor Series when he cost the Immortal Hulk Hogan a loss. Now Brown is going to work on the one and only Jim Duggan.
Brown elbows Duggan and nails him with a big knee. Brown charges into Duggan, but he gets an elbow up. Duggan punches away at Brown and then rams him into the turnbuckle. Duggan hammers away and scoops up Brown and slams him down. Duggan goes to the ropes, but Brown catches him coming off with a power slam. Brown then clotheslines Duggan. Brown hit’s the ropes, but Duggan catches him with a hiplock. Duggan delivers a clothesline and then another. Duggan sends Brown in to the corner. Brown gets a foot up, but Duggan catches it and then power slams Brown. Duggan makes the cover, but Brown kicks out. Duggan whips Brown to the corner again.
Piper: Hacksaw can still deliver the goods and Monty Brown is finding out just that right now.
Hacksaw looks for the 3 Point Stance, but Brown gets out of the way and blasts Duggan with the Pounce. Brown covers Duggan and holds him down for a three count.
Coach: Wow what a devastating blow by Monty Brown who comes away with the big win here over Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Monty Brown is headed for the Royal Rumble. Right now we are headed to Mean Gene Okerlund.
Okerlund: Welcome at this time the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle. Kurt tonight you will be involved in a huge ten man tag team match and that not withstanding you have to defend your World Title at the Royal Rumble in a triple threat match against both Chris Jericho and the Nature Boy Ric Flair.
Angle: Mean Gene, tonight I get to see first hand my two Rumble opponents and I have four other men looking across the ring at them who can get their licks in and put a beating on them so bad they might not make it to the Rumble. But I am a true fighting World Champion and I’m not looking to take short cuts. I didn’t take any shorts cuts getting to the Olympic Gold Medal and I will look Chris Jericho and Ric Flair straight on at the Rumble and I will defeat them just like I have defeated everyone who has come up against me before. No one is going to take me off this perch. The World Title is mine until I decide otherwise and that my friend is true!

Coach: Welcome back to Monday Night Raw. Still to come tonight a huge ten man tag team main event, but we are moments away from seeing Carlito go one-on-one with Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake. Let’s take you back to last week to show you what went down when Carlito took on Greg “The Hammer” Valentine.
Footage shows Carlito’s win over the Hammer and him spitting his apple at Valentine. Beefcake showed up and chased Carlito away.
BRUTUS “THE BARBER” BEEFCAKE VS. CARLITO
Carlito argues with the referee and makes him take Beefcake’s large sized shears from the ring and sets them at ringside. The bell sounds and the two hook up. Beefcake applies the side headlock. Carlito sends him in. Beefcake knocks him down and goes to the ropes. Carlito leap frogs over and goes for a hiplock, but the Barber reverses it. Beefcake punches away at Carlito and sends him in for a back body drop. Beefcake then clotheslines Carlito out to the apron. Beefcake suplexes Carlito back in and makes a cover, but only gets two.
Piper: The Barber is doing a number on Carlito and I’m certain he’d like to do a number on Carlito’s hair.
Coach: Beefcake’s hair obsession dates all the way back to 1987.
Piper: Yes it does and it all goes back to Adrian Adonis and well let’s just say I helped fuel the fire myself.
Beefcake sends Carlito in, but he reverses him. Beefcake ducks under and connects with a cross body for a near fall. Beefcake comes off the ropes with another cross body for another near fall. Brutus sends Carlito into the corner. Carlito gets an elbow up and then springboards off the ropes with a quebrada for a near fall.
Coach: Wow what an exciting high flying maneuver by Carlito. You have to give him some points on that one.
Carlito delivers a neck breaker and then stomps on the Barber. Carlito pounds on Beefcake and delivers a back breaker. Carlito chops Beefcake and sends him hard into the corner. Carlito drops a leg and gets a near fall. Carlito sends Brutus for the ride and nails him with a dropkick. Carlito then applies a sleeper hold.
Coach: Carlito beat Beefcake to the punch on that one. He’s trying to put the Barber out before he could do the same to Carlito.
Beefcake reaches up and gets a handful of Carlito’s hair and then drops down with a jawjacker. Beefcake gets to his feet and goes for Carlito, but he moves and goes for the Backstabber, but Beefcake blocks it holding the ropes. Beefcake nails Carlito with his feet and then hit’s a sunset flip for a near fall. Beefcake then sling shots Carlito into the corner and rolls him up for another near fall. Beefcake sends Carlito in and nails him with a high knee and then slams him down. Beefcake jumps up and comes down with a boot to the face and motions for Carlito to take a nap. Beefcake sends him in and applies the Sleeper. Carlito quickly backs up into the corner and again to break free. Carlito snap mares Beefcake over and punches him. Carlito sends Beefcake in and then lifts him up and drills him into the canvas. Carlito nails the Barber with a knee lift and gets a near fall. Carlito pounds away and sends him in. Carlito kicks Beefcake. Carlito charges at Beefcake, but he side steps him and tosses Carlito to the outside. Carlito starts walking away.
Piper: Where’s he going?
Beefcake chases Carlito who takes off towards the back. The referee makes a count and reaches ten.
Coach: Well Carlito takes off to the back avoiding a possible hair appointment, but the Barber was in hot pursuit and both men have been counted out. Neither one of these guys can be counted out as entrants in the Royal Rumble.
Piper: You’ve got that right Coach. In the Royal Rumble the only eliminations occur when a competitor goes over the top rope and lands with both feet touching the floor.
Coach: The Royal Rumble is approaching Hot Rod and it will be live from the sold out Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday January 25. The World Heavyweight Title will be on the line that night in a triple threat match as Kurt Angle defends against Chris Jericho and the Nature Boy Ric Flair. Three men will go in, but only one can come out as World Champion.
Piper: Then the WWE Championship will be up for grabs as the Hit Man, the pink and black attack, Bret Hart defends against Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is hungry for gold and he may very well taste it unless Bret can fend off the brute force of the nearly three hundred pounder.
Coach: The Intercontinental Title will also be defended when Christian puts the gold up against Muhammad Hassan. The deck is stacked against Captain Charisma with an unfortunate situation allowing Daiviari to be the acting official in that contest. What are the chances that Christian comes out still holding the title?
Piper: Then it may not be dinner time, but tables will still be set when Bubba Ray and D-Von, the Dudley Boyz take on Tommy Dreamer and the middle aged and crazy Terry Funk in a tables match. Someone’s going to get some wood at the Rumble.
Coach: Then it all comes down to the 60 Man Royal Rumble. It will be every man for himself looking to survive and be the last man standing for a shot to stand in the main event of WrestleMania and face either the WWE or World Champion. The luck of the draw is always important in the Rumble and this year there’s the added intrigue of finding out not only which number a Superstar will enter the ring, but on what WWE roster he will end up. Fans and Superstars alike will find out which of those 60 competitors will be competing on Raw, Smackdown, and ECW. Already entered in the Rumble match are: Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Animal Batista, the five hundred pound Big Show, U.S. Champion Booker T., Carlito, John Cena, Goldust, Chavo Guerrero, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, JBL, Rick Martel, the Mountie, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Sycho Sid, Rob Van Dam, Johnny Nitro, Joey Mercury, Charlie Haas, Shelton Benjamin, Billy Kidman, Finlay, World Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, Goldberg, Mark Henry, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Edge, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, the Immortal Hulk Hogan, Monty Brown, Matt Hardy, Diesel, Tito Santana, Cruiserweight Champion Paul London, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Chris Masters, Razor Ramon, Rhyno, Jim Brunzell, B. Brian Blair, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, Rey Mysterio, Irwin R. Schyster, Sabu, Dean Malenko, the Sandman, Gregory Helms, King Kong Bundy, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff, Rene Dupree, and Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Piper: Oh boy Coach I am raring to go. The Royal Rumble is going to be wild and crazy and as rowdy as can be.
Coach: There are only four vacant slots left to be filled in the Rumble match and we will have our sixty. Don’t miss out on the biggest match of the entire year. It’s the Royal Rumble!
-Commercial Break-
A promo is shown. A big check mark is shown and several lovely women are shown on the screen in quick flashes. Then a man with a Mohawk type hair style is shown. He speaks. “You know I’m a real chick magnet and while I could easily live a life just being that, I know I have another purpose. That purpose to give the rest of the WWE Superstars a reality check. I’m the Miz and I’m coming to the WWE!”
Christian comes out of Eric Bischoff’s office kicking things and heads down the corridor to the ring.
Coach: Christian is ready for action as he is about to meet JBL in a non-title match, but apparently he’s not happy with whatever went on in Bischoff’s office.
