So we all have had opinions about the releases of say Petey Williams and Sonjay Dutt. Rave and Hoyt are still up for debate as I am hearing Hoyt and Rave aren't up until next month but haven't resigned.
Petey Williams can definitely make a great living on the indy scene no doubt as he has a very good talent and has the name to back it up. Sonjday Dutt I am sure could make it but I would think that maybe trying to go to Japan would broaden his horizons as I really was never a fan of his until PWG and some of his CZW stuff. But come on, let's be real about this..PWG and CZW combined could not have paid him more than what his TNA contract was for. Merchandise notwithstanding seeing as how TNA barely has any other than DVDs and some mediocre shirts for the top talent but not really for the mid and below, was it a smart deal for him to not just resign and cut his losses? As for Rave and Hoyt, Hoyt had some matches in Japan that I thought sucked but they like Gaijin, especially the big guys, over there so there is a chance he can go again. Rave can always go back to ROH though honestly I never thought he was that great even during his Pure title chase with John Walters. His matches with AJ I thought sucked and were carried by AJ completely. I don't see him being really a huge success on the indy scene and once again post the question for guys like that, was it really smart to not take the sure thing from TNA where traveling is limited?
Yes I am sure there are always other factors. Do they get along with creative, do they agree with what the company is doing..blah blah blah. But in this spindling economy where the average wrestling fan is not shelling out as much for tickets and DVDs as before, is it worth not being on a national brand and go back to the indy scene?

Most places Petey Williams and Sonjay Dutt go they will get far, but its just too bad TNA did a crap job for letting them go!

I am sure Sonjay Dutt could get quite a few dates, but at the same time with traveling and everything taken into consideration is it worth it?
I guess a better way to put it also is Sonjay Dutt gonna make the money Petey does? I kinda doubt it since I have talked to a few promoters out here in CA who I remember bringing in Petey and cutting Sonjay to save a few bucks.

Rave/Hoyt could've been better had it not been a tag team. Rave could do his fake rockstar gimmick with Hoyt as his bodyguard and it would've worked.

In 2006 Hoyt squandered all potential he had. 2005 he was a ing beast, and along came 2006 and he wasn't quite the same.

I'm almost 100% sure that Rave can go back to ROH , Petey can go to ROH or PWG ,I have no idea where Hoyt can go , Sonjay can also go to PWG

Petey & Dutt have a chance to go to WWE, they're such good wrestlers I can't see why WWE wouldn't want them

I think it's TNA just making poor decisions. I think Lance Hoyt was a good firing, but the others... no way. TNA is just throwing away all their original talent but aren't bringing any new fresh faces. Just former 'E's

Williams maybe, but I don't see him doing any better than Jaime Noble.

it is tna. they simply do not book properly a lot of the time, and to most of the storylines i find myself asking 'why do i care? how does this affect anything?"

And he had some good matches in like 2005, specifically against Abyss and Monty Brown.

Just former 'E'sYeah, that's why TNA offered Roode a FIVE year contract when he said it himself it's normall 1-2 years. That's one. James Storm makes two. AJ Styles makes three. And Suicide makes four. Joe makes five. Alright, besides those FIVE characters, who on TNA, is getting a major push or at least adequate TV time that wasn't a former WWE, ECW, or WCW star? Let's look at the current TV characters: - Kurt Angle (WWE) - Sting (WCW) - Rhino (ECW and WWE) - Scott Steiner (WCW and WWE) - Booker T (WCW and WWE) - Brother Ray (ECW and WWE) - Brother Devon (ECW and WWE) - Jeff Jarrett (WCW) - Kevin Nash (WCW and WWE) - Kip James (WWE) - Matt Morgan (WWE) - Mick Foley (WWE) Other than a few timefillers and the Knockouts, TNA is pushing former stars and wasting their homegrown talent.
