I was there at the show last night, and the entire show was awesome. They announced that (tonight was the 2nd ROH PPV taping) the 3rd PPV taping will be in Chicago as well on 9/17. Awesome news, as I plan on being there for that as well. But what was really cool, was Austin Aries' role in the night's show. I walked over to the bleachers where I was going to sit (and watch for empty chairs, to get a better seat) and I saw Austin Aries sitting right behind where I was going. I looked up, and said "Hey man, what's up?" He looked over and goes, "Not a whole lot, just here to enjoy the show." I came back with "Yea, I think we all are. Should be great." He agreed or whatever, and then just left him alone. I don't like to bother the wrestlers when I see them.
So I'm sitting there still when his guy walks up, and he has tickets in his hand. "Hey Austin, I got 3 front row tickets right here, you want 'em?" I turned back to see what he was going to say. "Nah man, that's cool. I kinda have to stay off the radar a little bit. Thanks though." So the guy says alright, and starts to walk away. My dad ended up calling the guy over, and we bought his 3 $50 front row seats for a total of $50. Not a bad transaction if you ask me.
Anyway, the first match of the night was a six man tag involving the No Remorse Corps. If you're not an ROH fan, I don't feel like explaining the whole Generation Next thing that lead to Aries and Strong splitting. toom much typing. Well after the match, the No Remorse Corps are beating down on their oppnents, and the whole crowd turns to Aries and starts chanting his name. After a few minutes of nothing happening (as no one was really expecting anything to happen) Aries comes flying out of his seat in the bleachers and fighting through the people! He jumps in the ring and it clears.
He cut a promo on how he was sick and tired of sitting at home for 2 months, blah blah blah. He pulls out a piece of paper, and talks about how as soon as he signs it, he would be free and able to compete in ROH. I knew it was he TNA release, but I was still shocked. The fans had a " TNA! TNA! TNA!" chant going when he called for a pen. Everybody and their frickin' brother tossed a pen in the ring and he eventually picked one up and signed it.
It was a really cool experience, and I was totally surprised. He didn't mention TNA's name once, probably for legal reasons. I thought I'd share this with you guys, as you're all either surprised or pissed about his TNA departure. Thanks for reading.
