couple of questions
Was it well known that Goldberg would only be in WWE for one year?
Did the rock make any announcement in 02 when he left and when he returned in 03, then when he left in 03
Anyone got vids of those promos^^^^

I've always wondered that about Goldberg, and how well known it was that he was going to come to the WWE, and why didn't he come sooner?

i don't think the rock had a promo of when he left in 02, i'm fairly certain after his cage match the night after X7 he just dissapeared, only to reappear with his promos from the mummy returns shooting

I know that The Rock cut a promo after losing to Goldberg at Backlash '03. It wasn't televised, but it was on the Backlash '03 DVD.

rocks promo after the goldberg match is somewhere on youtube...
i dont think it was known goldberg was only going to be a year. He didnt even wanna be there. he said he came back for the little fans asking him why he wasnt wrestling anymore. He felt like there wasn't a wrestler to really look up to. Plus he hated the product at the time. He didn't like that every other week a diva was getting stripped down to her panties.

As far as his 2002 leaving went, supposedly he was scheduled for Raw the night after SummerSlam but because the crowd crapon him so much during his match with Brock, Rock/WWE decided not to go ahead with the promo on Raw.

I wish in both cases with Scott Steiner and Goldberg that WWE had made them shake the rust off before a match.....Come to think of it Same with Bagwell and Kronik too...

They shouldn't have done the invasion until they got hogan, nash, hall, and goldberg.

The Rock/Goldberg feud was a lot of fun, I just wish they didn't advertise his debut during WrestleMania the night before.
They should've left it a huge surprise.

They shouldn't have done the invasion until they got hogan, nash, hall, and goldberg. That would've meant they were paying all their WCW guys for two years without using them. Plus if they'd held off until 2003 to do anything with the WCW name, it would have already been forgotten before they started.

McMahon had plenty of funds to buy out those Time Warner contracts-he fooled himself by not doing it.
a Summerslam 2001 card that had Austin vs Goldberg as the main event would have been an effin monster.Vinnie Mac made the bad move here.
the JOB squad he hired from WCW left the Invasion flat after a while.
